“Wa-wait, Yuugo!”
Tsukimiya called out in order to stop me from leaving.
I can’t help but think about when she’ll give up. To be honest, I’m really happy that she’s thinking about me that much, but I have a person that I love, my first love — Tenshin Himari. So no matter how many times Tsukimiya says that she loves me, I can’t answer her feelings.
Guess I’ll have to talk to her until she understands.
“What is it?”
I turned and saw Tsukimiya looking at me with reddened eyes.
However, Tsukimiya now sported a look of determination on her face despite the fact that she had been crying just moments before.
“I’ll tell you what, Yuugo. Your feelings will never reach Tenshin.”
Tsukimiya said something incomprehensible. My feelings won’t reach Tenma?
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
When I questioned her, Tsukimiya just grinned at me and then asked me a question.
‘’Hey, Yuugo. When you were confessing to Tenshin Himari, did anything strange happen?”
“Strange?”
“Yeah. Like, for example, while confessing you found yourself suddenly teleported somewhere.”
The other day when I was about to confess my feelings to Tenshin, I was suddenly teleported to the track and field. Naturally, the confession ended in failure because of that. But …….
‘’How do you know about that, Tsukimiya?”
Tsukimiya replied with a proud look on her face.
“It’s obviously because it was I who interfered with Yuugo’s confession.”
“… What?”
The answer was so unexpected that I couldn’t help but let out a droll response.
“What do you mean by interfere?”
“I was the one that teleported Yuugo at that time.”
“….”
What the heck is this girl saying?
“I-it’s the truth! I’m not lying!”
“Even if you told me that, how do you expect someone to believe that you teleported a human being?”
Even the words of a shady salesman were still more credible than this.
“Sure, a human may not be able to do it. But I can.”
“Yeah and why is that?”
To be honest, I’m not entirely curious, but I decided to ask Tsukimiya anyway.
“Fu~fu~fu~fu. That’s because…”
After a long pause, she replied.
“Because I’m the God of Romantic Comedy!”
“P-please w-wait!”
I barely heard the end of her response before I had already begun walking away from Tsukimiya as quickly as possible. She immediately started to chase after me, and after hearing her declare herself as the god of Romantic Comedy, I realized that Athena Tsukimiya was a psycho. She was what the Japanese commonly referred to as a chuunibyou. She wasn’t someone I wanted to get involved with any more.
“Wait! P-please wait, Yuugo! I really am the God of Romantic Comedy!”
Tsukimiya tried to stop me, but I continued to ignore her. As soon as I arrived at the shoe closet, I swapped out my shoes and exited through the doorway.
Seriously, why does Tsukimiya call me by my first name? (TN: Calling someone on a first name basis is disrespectful unless given approval in Japan)
Well, there are people out there who call you by your name just out of the blue even though you’ve never met them before, so I guess that’s not strange.
“P-please wait! Wait — thud.”
I heard a sound as though something had fallen over.
I turned around and saw Tsukimiya lying slumped over near the entrance of the school doorway.
… What a handful of a person.
“Muu… it hurts…”
“Are you okay?”
I approached Tsukimiya who had raised her upper body. As far as I could see, she didn’t seem to have any major injuries or anything. There was no sign of even a scratch on her flawless skin.
“Can you stand?”
I reached out a helping hand to her.
“Yu-Yuugo…”
Tsukimiya’s cheeks reddened as she stared at me.
Don’t look at me like that. It’s kind of embarrassing.
”Thank you, Yuugo.”
Tsukimiya took my hand and stood up.
“It’s fine. It’s not a big deal.”
Anyone with a little bit of good would do the same.
“Well then, I’m going home now.”
I said after a moment of silence had already passed. I was about to leave when the self-proclaimed god of rom-com grabbed my arm. What’s this? Déjà vu?
(ED: DEJA VU, I’VE BEEN IN THIS PLACE BEFORE)
“Please wait a minute Yuugo. I really am the god of rom-com. Believe me.”
“Just so we’re clear, I don’t have a chuunibyou hobby.”
Though I have to admit, I’m a guy going through puberty with the skill of “No Girlfriend Since Birth”.
What kind of delusions is she seeing right now? It’s kinda scary to think about.
“Why don’t you believe me? Don’t I look like a god?”
“What do you mean “god”? I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
I couldn’t keep up with this charade anymore.
I tried to move on, but Tsukimiya prevented me from doing so by pulling my arm as hard as she could. That hurt! She was very powerful.
“I’m not letting you leave until you believe me when I say that I am the god of rom-com.”
“Don’t talk such nonsense.”
But Tsukimiya’s eyes exuded a serious light and she didn’t seem to have any intention of letting me leave.
“Okay, let’s do this then.”
Deciding that it would be difficult to shake off this self-proclaimed god of rom-com, I decided to make a suggestion.
“Tsukimiya. If you really are the god of rom-com, you can teleport me somewhere right?”
“Of course. Because I am the god of romantic comedy.”
Tsukimiya showed a proud expression as she slapped her chest.
“I see. Then teleport me now. If you can do that, I’ll believe that you’re a god.”
But it’s absolutely impossible for a human to make someone teleport.
In other words, Tsukimiya, being a chuunibyou, should not be able to accept this proposal.
‘’Is that true! You’re not going back on your words right!”
But for some reason, Tsukimiya’s eyes were shining rather brightly.
Could it be that Tsukimiya was really the god of romantic comedy?
…… No, no, no, that would be impossible. What kind of god is the god of romantic comedy in the first place?
“So, before that, I would like to ask you to do me a favor.”
“What is it?”
When I asked, Tsukimiya nodded her head.
“I’ll need you to be in a secluded place. If you do so, I can prove to you that I’m the god of my romantic comedy.”
“Are you seriously going to get me to teleport?”
I’m sure that’s two hundred percent impossible.
But that’s okay. I’m just gonna play along with her game until she feels better.
“This is the best isolated place to be. People don’t come here at this hour of the day.”
“I-I see. Then let me take this opportunity to prove that I am the god of romantic comedy.”
Tsukimiya suddenly raised her hand to the heavens.
…… Seriously, what is she doing?
“Yuugo.”
Then, a wand unexpectedly appeared in Tsukimiya’s hand.
At the tip of the peach-colored stick was a heart-shaped object that shone red like a jewel. You could even spot small white feathers attached to both of its sides.
If Tenshin, who was forced into a magical girl costume earlier, were to hold, she would look great.
“Don’t bring out such toys all of a sudden.”
“They are not toys! This will be used to teleport Yuugo instantaneously. Like this.”
After saying that, Tsukimiya waved her stick slightly upward and countless grains of blue-white shimmering light appeared along the path.
I was confused by the fantasy phenomenon that suddenly occurred.
“This is…”
Then, Tsukimiya waved her wand at me.
All the particles that were floating in the air suddenly fell on me.
“…”
Immediately after, the scenery I saw suddenly changed.
This was the exact same phenomenon that happened when I tried to confess to Tenshin Himari last time.
”This place…”
I looked around and found myself in a rather large room. There were several lockers lined up at the end of the room, with two long benches in the middle.
”Seriously?”
It seemed that I had actually teleported.
“Yu-Yuugo…”
A voice came from behind. I turned my head and saw Tsukimiya near the entrance of the room, with her hands on her knees, out of breath. Did she run all the way here?
“How is it? Would you believe me now that I’m the god of my romantic comedy? ”
“Y-yeah, I guess so…”
By the way, I promised myself that I would believe Tsukimiya that she was a god if she successfully teleported me. I only said that because I was sure she couldn’t do it, but I never thought it would turn out like this.
“… Alright, a man doesn’t go back on his words. I’m going to believe that you’re a god.”
“R-really? !”
Tsukimiya showed a delighted expression.
Because she doesn’t usually have a very expressive face, I was slightly surprised.
There are many questions I want to ask Tsukimiya about what just happened and how she interrupted my confession earlier.
But before I do that, there is something I want to make sure of.
“Hey, Tsukimiya. Where are we?”
The place we were in was a room I didn’t recognize.
I think it’s probably one of the rooms on the campus… like the sports club room.
“This is the women’s locker room.”
“… Huh?”
“This is the women’s locker room.”
“I’m not implying that you have to say it again.”
To think that it was the women’s locker room.
Why did this girl teleport here?
“Since I’m teleporting Yuugo, I decided to make it to a place you’d like.”
“Then why is it the women’s locker room?”
It’s true that this place may be heaven, but at the same time it’s a place that can be called hell. If someone saw me in a place like this, I’d be done for.
Then suddenly, a female student in a swimsuit came in. Probably a student of the swimming club.
”Ah.”
Our eyes met.
…… It’s over.
Immediately afterwards, a loud scream rang out in the room.
The next morning, I asked Tsukimiya to meet me behind the school building.
There weren’t too many people there at that time of day, so there was no one to hear us talking about something about chuunibyou like delusions.
“So what is this “god of romantic comedy?””
“Before that, Yuugo, were you okay yesterday?
“I’m perfectly fine. Thanks to you.”
I replied to Tsukimiya who asked me anxiously.
Yesterday, because of Tsukimiya, I was teleported to the women’s locker room where I ran into one of the girls from the swimming club.
However, immediately after her scream, Tsukimiya quickly teleported me to the front of the school gate.
Thanks to that, I was able to return home safely and avoid any problems.
It was Tsukimiya’s fault in the first place that I ended up running into a female student in the girls’ locker room.
…… By the way, I couldn’t ask her yesterday because of all the confusion on the way, but I had to be sure.
“I’ll ask again, what is the God of rom-com?”
“A god of romantic comedy is a god whose purpose is to help or hinder people’s love life.”
“I see. So it’s like a cupid of love… or not. Why is there a need to get in the way?”
Is it okay if the romantic comedy god interferes with love? No, it’s no good.
Sometimes it’s necessary to prevent people from falling in love. For example, the love of a man who is cheating on his wife.
“Oh, I see.
Bring down the hammer on those dishonest bastards! I guess that made sense.
If cheating and infidelity were allowed, those good-looking men would be the winners. I wouldn’t be able to let them be if that were to happen.
“In order to fulfill the role, we were born and raised in the heavenly realm, or heaven, as Yuugo and your friends call it. When we reach the age of 15, we come down to earth.”
…
Does this mean that the god of romantic comedy has come all the way from heaven to punish people for their cheating, infidelity and sometimes wrongdoing?
It seemed unrealistic, but I’ve witnessed Tsukimiya’s power to make others teleport.
If she says there was a heaven, I wouldn’t be surprised by now if there really was.
“Furthermore, the god of romantic comedy has the power to cause any kind of phenomenon to help or hinder human love in various ways.”
“Seriously? What’s with that?”
Tsukimiya nodded energetically.
It is quite amazing that you can cause any phenomenon.
“That power… came from the magical wand?”
After nodding her head, a lovely magical wand appeared in her hand. It was exactly the same as the one I saw yesterday.
“What do you think? Isn’t it pretty?”
Tsukimiya proudly showed off her magical wand. What are you? A child?
“Hey Tsukimiya, you can’t use that power for yourself, right? ”
Yesterday, I was teleported twice, but Tsukimiya seemed to have run into the women’s locker room, and when the female student found me, I was the only one teleported out while she remained in the women’s locker room. She could have easily teleported along with me.
“Umu. My power can only be used on humans. It cannot be used on me, a god.”
“Even if you can’t use it on yourself, it’s still an awesome power.”
“That’s right. With this, I can prevent all of Yuugo’s confessions.”
Tsukimiya snorted and said with a proud look.
“Yeah, you said something like that yesterday.”
That was the MOST important thing… How could I forget that? Maybe it was due to the fact that there was so much going on that it had completely slipped my mind.
She probably used the power of her walking stick to interfere with my confession.
That meant that it was Tsukimiya who rained panties from the sky and made my love letter into a gravure photo in order to stop my confession to Tenshin.
“By the way, I’ve been on the ground since last year, preventing Yuugo’s confession, even when I wasn’t in school.”
Tsukimiya spoke proudly.
Well, it seems that God’s power can make anything happen. It’s hard to believe but there’s no choice.
“Why would you go to such lengths to interfere with my confessions.”
“Th-thats…”
I asked her directly out of curiosity. Tsukimiya’s face turned down and her body began to twitch.
“Because I lo-love you… Yuugo”
“………………”
Ugh… This is a problem. Tsukimiya liked me.
I’ve been living a life so unpopular that I’ve completely forgotten about it. But you can’t interfere with someone else’s love just because you like them.
“Do you really want to interfere with my love life?”
“U-un… yes.”
That answer was too honest. It was hard to refute.
“I-it can’t be helped?! Even gods are no different from humans when it comes to love!”
“I-is that so…”
I choke on my words as Tsukimiya suddenly opened up.
To be honest, I kind of understood how she felt. If Tenshin were about to be confessed to by someone, I might just eliminate that person before he was able to do so.
…… But is it okay for the god of romantic comedy to block other people’s love for their own personal gain? I don’t know if that was a good idea but I was pretty sure it was not okay.
“Hey, Tsukimiya. Can you stop getting in the way of my confession?”
“No.”
“Instant reply!”
I was surprised at how quickly she responded.
“B-because I l-love you, Yuugo.”
Tsukimiya’s mouth curled and her fingers crossed due to embarassment. That was the second time she said it today.
…… This was bad. No matter what I said, the chances of stopping Tsukimiya from interrupting my confession was extremely low.
But if that happened, I wouldn’t be able to deliver my feelings to Tenshin forever.
”………”
Now what should I do?
