- You’re Right, They’ll Expel Me if I Run into the Store with a Weapon!!
- Chapter 69 - Amano: "Touka-chan! How about my beautiful legs, huh?" Touka: "...What exactly should I respond to that?"
As the sun sets, having decided to dine together, the two found themselves at a place filled with a distinctive aroma—”conveyor belt sushi.”
In a booth, Suzuko peruses the menu, while Hiroki extends his hand towards the ordering terminal at their table.
“Suzuko, what do you feel like eating?”
“Eggs, tuna, and ikura.”
He inputs the items she mentioned and then, with practiced movements, pours green tea powder and hot water into a teacup.
Suzuko sips from the teacup handed to her, exhaling a white breath.
“Conveyor belt sushi… it’s been a while.”
Saying so, Suzuko picks a piece of sushi from the conveyor belt that caught her eye.
Munching, with Hiroki also reaching out for sushi, the ordered plates arrive, and the table becomes colorful with food.
“So, have you decided on your two wishes?”
With a light tone, the girl clears her throat before answering.
“Not yet… I want to decide properly.”
“We can’t have anything that would cause problems in daily life.”
“I know.”
They went over the conditions for the wishes again, mindful that the girl’s unique way of thinking could, in certain circumstances, be life-threatening.
“Well, take your time to decide.”
“Okay.”
“I’m going to wash my hands.”
Saying so, he stands up from the seat, passing by Suzuko’s side.
While chewing, the girl was deep in thought.
The only option is to change Hiroki’s heart… but how? How can both wishes be fulfilled?
Puzzled, she stared into the void in silence. From a third-party perspective, her tangled web of thoughts would have seemed hopeless.
A reclusive girl trying to force her likes on someone else.
Yet, despite this, the girl was desperately searching within her heart. She heard the words “to drift apart” from an unseen origin. That was the only method, the only trigger she had. That’s why she couldn’t let go.
As the girl continued her thoughts, she overheard…
“Hey~ Touya~ Listen to this~”
“What is it, Amako?”
From the seat across the lane, a bright voice caught her attention. Looking over, she saw a tall beautiful woman and a shorter handsome man conversing.
(A couple…?)
A couple with reversed heights, the difference between them was striking. Their appearance and tone drew attention.
“My friend recently got hooked on a game~”
“Oh, really~?”
“Actually, that friend… started liking games because of something~”
Suzuko’s eyes widened.
Something… that made them like games!
Unconsciously, Suzuko leaned closer towards the lane, eager to listen in.
“Well, you know~ There’s this festival thing on TV~ they participated in that and started liking it~”
“But, what about the outing permit?”
The handsome man voiced the same question Suzuko had. Going out required an outing permit. For high-ranking individuals, permission was easily granted due to low risk of misconduct. However, for those outside the ranking, it involved a lengthy process and trust.
Hiroki is… difficult…
“Look~ There was a prize at last year’s final event~ They went on a trip with it~ and visited the festival as a side trip~”
Final event, prize, trip.
The conversation moved on, leaving Suzuko struggling to keep up. There were unresolved questions, but she felt an urgent need to listen, focusing her thoughts on the conversation ahead.
“So, they got interested~ And now, aiming for the prize in this event~?”
The prize for this event? Could something so convenient happen?
As she quietly dismissed the idea, the handsome man expressed the doubt for her.
“But, is there really a prize? It’s a game event, after all…”
“It’s not a game~ Mufufu~ Actually~”
…
She found it…
Upon hearing the next part of the conversation, Suzuko slightly raised the corners of her mouth.
“I’m back~ But why are you glaring at your smartphone like that?”
“…I’ve decided. My wish.”
The girl, with unfathomable light dwelling deep within her eyes, merely responded with an “Oh, okay,” causing the boy to feel a slight tension as he sat down.
Glancing sideways at the smartphone, it was filled with tiny characters on the screen, unreadable from the opposite side.
A boy filled with questions and a girl whose thoughts were invisible.
In the midst of this strange atmosphere, Suzuko was the first to break the silence.
“My first wish is… but before that, lend me your student ID.”
“Student ID? Uh, here.”
“Thanks… Alright, done.”
“What’s done?”
What was handed back was Suzuko’s smartphone, now easily readable for Hiroki.
A few taps showed a “Registration Completed” screen, along with personal information for both of them.
“…Huh?”
Hiroki was stunned. If he wasn’t mistaken, this was the registration for an event they had talked about with the principal before.
The numbers from the student ID were also listed, leaving him in shock.
“Suzuko-san… what is this about…?”
Even as he realized it was too late, he needed the words from the girl in front of him to fully grasp the situation.
As his heartbeat echoed loudly in his ears, Hiroki re-examined the face of the girl hidden beneath the hood.
There, he saw a girl with a faint smile.
“Hiroki doesn’t need to do anything… I will handle everything…”
“Ah! It’s here, it’s here!”
“…What have I… what have I done…”
A smiling young man dressed as a woman and a young woman dressed as a man with lifeless eyes. Apart from them, the room was empty.
“Touka-chan.”
The young man, sitting in front of the computer and staring at the screen, opened his mouth with a smile towards the girl.
“I’ll take care of the registration information for these two. You know what comes next, right?”
Whether she grasped the young man’s thoughts or not, Touka, the girl in question, remained silent. She realized it was futile, too late, based on her actions just minutes before.
“We need to ensure it doesn’t get leaked to the principal.”
With the image of the problematic figure in mind, Amano personally undertook the registration process.
