- You’re Right, They’ll Expel Me if I Run into the Store with a Weapon!!
- Chapter 47: When I Get Serious!
“Doctor~”
The setting is a room dominated by a pot, monitors, and various equipment.
Though weakly, the girl raised her voice to the doctor sitting on a chair.
“Please give it back~”
“No can do~”
Haruna was hugging a pot.
Inside were two handguns with a greenish-black luster and a case containing spare magazines and ammunition.
“These are my babies. Why are you taking them away?”
“It sounds bad, you know. I only collected them, and the payment should have been transferred to your account.”
The pot contained a full set of equipment made by Haruna. It was the equipment Hiroki had.
Having grown attached to it, the girl had come to plead with the doctor in charge of management to give it back.
But, as expected, the doctor did not grant her wish.
“It’s out of the question to hand over equipment that hasn’t passed safety standards to someone. And there’s no reason to return it to the maker who neglected that.”
“But~”
Haruna showed a child-like demeanor, throwing a tantrum.
“I’ll pay for it~ Please, I won’t hand it over to anyone else~ Please give it back~”
“No. And I’m busy right now. Could you please leave the room?”
“No! I will stay here until you return it!”
With a determination to argue, Haruna hugged the pot tightly and glared at the doctor working on the keyboard.
Seeing her, the doctor sighed and stopped his hands.
“I’m really busy. I’m working hard for the students’ safety, but little time is left.”
“Boo~ That’s probably something another facility will complete. We’re just like baby birds waiting to be fed~.”
“We bring prototype programs and integrate them to assemble the safest program. If we’re the only ones who don’t submit, our budget will be cut.”
“Then why not just slightly modify an existing program and submit that?”
Haruna, offering what seemed like a child’s poorly thought-out plan, made the doctor pinch the bridge of his nose in frustration.
“Even changing a part won’t work. The program won’t keep up with the student’s rate of growth. You know that.”
“…Is it about generations?”
“Yes, as time passes, the younger generation becomes more capable. The methods of education have been optimized, evolved.”
The doctor, who had lived through more than a cycle of life than the girl, spoke from his experience.
“While aiming to elucidate combat power, growth methods have been analyzed. The technological advancement of the world is the same.”
“It’s like a treasure box.”
“Yes, a treasure box. The current martial studies technology was born from the research of combat power.”
Agreeing with Haruna’s monotone words, the doctor paused momentarily before returning to the keyboard.
“I’ve digressed, but I hope my point is clear. For the safety of the students who continue to grow, we must assemble a program that suits them.”
“Boo~”
Haruna puffed her cheeks in frustration, booming at the unyielding doctor.
“Just when I was about to—”
“Excuse me. Chief, please come to the lobby immediately.”
A voice came through the speaker before Haruna could say anything else, and the doctor reacted by standing up.
“It’s a call. Well, I’m going, but…”
He looked at Haruna with a stern eye, reminding her of the reason he was working there.
“Don’t even think about hacking into the pot to open it.”
“I know~ Have a good one.”
Hearing her words, the doctor left the room, scratching his head.
And then—
“Well then.”

Grinding tension builds, echoing…echoing…echoing…
The sound of construction noise echoes at the site.
Instead of Hazuki being stuck to a pot, there was…
“What are you doing, Hazuki-kun?”
“If hacking doesn’t work, breaking it is the only way left!”
Hazuki stood, wearing a safety helmet, striking a pot with an electric hammer.
“It just won’t break! What’s with this durability?”
“It’s a pot I made. It’s not built to be broken by force.”
The doctor diligently explained, smoothly turning off the switch of the electric hammer Hazuki was holding and then grabbing his face.
“And just because hacking didn’t work doesn’t mean breaking it open is a good idea.”
“Ouch, ouch, ouch!!”
“You aren’t reflecting at all, are you?”
Hazuki, suffering intense pain in his skull from the iron claw, struggled to shake off the doctor’s right hand.
“Then please give it back! I can’t stand my work being stored away without being used!”
The doctor, dismayed by the girl’s unreasonable anger, slowly sat on a chair.
“First, you need to show some proof of reflection…”
“Eh, I have made ‘proof of reflection.'”
As if waiting for those words, Hazuki, with a smirk, looked at the doctor, who was looking at the computer screen.
“How about it, doctor! I think it’s two generations ahead!”
The doctor slowly moved his hand, scanning the screen to verify.
What was there was a beautifully assembled program.
“Gives me a headache…”
At those words, Hazuki snorted with pride.
“Now, if the doctor brushes it up, this program can be submitted, right?”
“If I had asked Hazuki-kun for help from the beginning…”
In front of a proud Hazuki, the doctor remembered the almost sleepless past.
“What was my last few weeks for…”
“No, no, it’s just that I added to the program you assembled, doctor!”
“Spare me the consolation. I’m scared of what’s next.”
Saying that the doctor turned off the computer, rubbed his eyes, and turned to Hazuki.
“So, Hazuki-kun”
“Yes! Then, for my children…”
“I’m going to get a good night’s sleep for the first time in a while. Good night.”
Yawning, she pulled out a blanket from somewhere, draped it over herself, and fell peacefully asleep.
“Heyyyy!!”
