- Chapter 35: Shiori: "You know, Meryl, in Japan, ninjas are..." Meryl: "Hmm?" Shiori: "...Let's go to a ninja house together next time." Meryl: "Really!? Shiori! I love you!"
This was happening while Shiori and the others were engaged in a battle in the corridor.

“…What is this…”
The first thing Hiroki saw as he emerged from a narrow ventilation shaft was a massive black shadow connected to cords.
Illuminated by a dim green light, it appeared to be something with a mane like a lion and a face like a wolf.
(Why is there something like this under a building? Is it a prop for a special effects movie? But it’s too realistic…)
As Hiroki walked around the giant figure, he remembered the quadruped robots from a hero show he watched as a child.
It was as large as a big bus, with two legs on each end and a long, thin tail over seven meters long, resembling a combination of a lion and a wolf.
Observing it, Hiroki’s eyes changed.
(Yep, definitely a robot. I can tell. There must be something specific in it…)
Hiroki, reminiscent of the first time he threw a grenade, began to climb the robot, searching for something by feeling around.
(Where’s the cockpit?)
A man, attempting to relive his childhood dreams, began looking for the pilot’s seat. But there was no apparent switch or door.
Next, he saw a control panel at a distance.
On several monitors, there were displays resembling electrocardiograms and scattered English letters and numbers.
(I still can’t read this…)
Sighing, Hiroki took out his smartphone and took a selfie with the giant face.
(Might as well settle for this…)
He looked satisfied at the photo of him with the giant face and saved it to his files. Then he realized something.
“No signal…”
Hiroki remembered his current situation.
…
“Is anyone there? Hello! Anyone!”
While calling for help loudly, he reassessed his location.
The space was as large as a gymnasium in an elementary school. Surrounded by white walls, there was nothing but the cord-connected robot and the control panel.
He found a door, but pushing or pulling it showed no sign of opening. Finally, he slammed his full strength against it, but it wouldn’t break.
(The door won’t open. No help is coming.)
In the dim room, Hiroki lost his way again.
(Nobody’s coming…)
He then realized his recent interest in the robot was a way to reassure his anxious self.
But that curiosity ended within minutes, and he was forced to confront his situation again.
Alone in the dark space, his stress had already reached its limit.
And then, something inside the boy broke.
Pulling out Artemis Forest from his holster, he put his finger on the trigger.
Aiming at…
(At this point, I’d be glad to see anyone. Yeah. That’s right. So…)
He pointed the gun at the control panel and pulled the trigger.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
“Hey! Someone come! A crazy Japanese guy is committing vandalism! Hurry up and come!”
His voice, a mix of monotone and high-pitched gunfire, filled the room.
Reloading the magazine, he continued to fire.
The surface of the control panel was destroyed, exposing its intertwined cords.
Seeing this, Hiroki’s tension started to rise.
“I can sing now, right? Then I’ll continue what I was doing earlier! Listen to my song!”
The completely crazed man held the E like a microphone to his mouth.
“Hell’s vengeance boils in my heart,
Death and despair,
Death and despair flames around me!
Do not feel the pain of death through you Sarastro,
Sarastro’s pain of death,
You will never be my daughter again.”

Tod und Verzweiflung,
Tod und Verzweiflung flammet um mich her!
Fühlt nicht durch dich Sarastro Todesschmerzen,
Sarastro Todesschmerzen,

“The Queen of the Night’s Aria” from “The Magic Flute”.
A German song composed by Mozart.
Amidst the sparks flying, Hiroki continued to sing loudly.
“So you will never be my daughter anymore.
ha a a a ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha,
ha a a a ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha,
ha a a a ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha,
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha,”
Already, the control panel had started a small fire and was in full blaze.
But no matter how much he destroyed, there seemed to be no sign of anyone coming.
Thinking he hadn’t destroyed enough, Hiroki then pulled out his Artemis Disaster and aimed the gun at the sparking machine.
Tap tap.
“What now! I’m busy! Don’t bother me!”
…Tap tap.
“I said stop!”
Feeling something poking his back, he swiftly turned around.
And then,
“…………”
“………Gau Gau?”
Hiroki’s “Magic Flute” had awakened the robot.
