You Were Stolen from Me, so I Will Live for Myself - Chapter 2
Days of Happiness
After entering high school, Yuki and I officially started dating.
“Good morning!”
“Morning. You’re full of energy today, as always.”
Every morning, we walk to school together. It’s the same as when we were in grade school, but holding hands with her has become a normal thing, and somehow it feels special.
“Hey, want to stop by a café on the way home today?”
“Oh, sounds good. The new one that just opened?”
“Yeah! My friend said the food there is really good.”
I love the time we spend together walking side by side, talking about where to go next. Even the smallest thing feels special when I share it with Yuki.

High school life is more fun than I expected. We end up in the same class and get to spend every day together.
“Yuki, did you do today’s math assignment?”
“Yeah! But it was kind of hard…let’s go over it together.”
“Alright, let’s head go the library after school.”
Whether it is studying, school events, or anything else, I’m always with Yuki. Our classmates would sometimes tease us saying, ‘It’s so obvious that the two of you are dating’, but I don’t mind at all.
“Yuki, you’re really the type of person who will do anything for your boyfriend, aren’t you?”
“I-Is that so…?”
“Yeah. But I have fun just being with you, so you don’t have to push yourself.”
“…thanks, Yuto.”
This kind of conversation has become part of our daily lives.

One of the things we enjoy doing together is taking detours together after school.
“I heard the crepes here are really good!”
“You sure love sweet things.”
“It’s because they’re really delicious! Want to try a bite?”
“Just watching you eat so happily is enough for me.”
“Ehh, don’t say that! Try it!”
Yuki holds the crepe up to my mouth. I’m a bit worried about the looks we get from the people around us, but seeing how happy she is makes me happy too.
“Hmm, yeah, it’s really good.”
“Right!?”
Those days are truly the happiest moments of my life.

Even preparing for the school festival is also a precious memory for us.
“Apparently, our class is doing a café for the school festival.”
“Are you going to be a waitress?”
“Yeah! Do you think it’ll suit me?”
“It’ll definitely suit you. I’m looking forward to it.”
“Then you definitely have to come see me on the day, okay?”
“Of course!”

Finally, the day of the school festival arrives.
“Welcome!”
Seeing Yuki in her uniform with an apron, smiling as she serves customers, makes my heart skip a beat. She is my childhood friend, but every time I look at her like this, it feels new and different.
“…so cute.”
“Eh? Did you say something?”
“No, it’s nothing.”
We continue our happy days just like that.

The time we spent together is truly special, irreplaceable.
“Hey, let’s stay together like this forever.”
“Of course.”
Holding hands, we look towards the same future together.
I truly thought that happiness would last forever.
