Yandere and Menhera - Suddenly Having a Yandere Older Stepsister and a Menhera Younger Stepsister Makes Every Day Difficult - Chapter 1 - 35/36
Today marked the end of the school term, and as we started moving towards the gymnasium, I felt a gaze from somewhere. I tried to locate the source of this gaze, but no matter how hard I tried, it always seemed to blend into the crowd.
I tried not to worry about the gaze, but I couldn’t help sweating uncomfortably. I wondered if it might be from that girl, Juli, or from Saeka-chan, as I tried to concentrate on the ceremony. The long principal’s speech and the teachers’ farewell ceremony were stiff and formal, things I felt we really didn’t need.
By noon, everyone was buzzing with excitement about the summer holidays starting tomorrow. I hurried home to begin the final preparations for the national tournament. That’s when I felt the gaze again in the hallway, and as I quickly opened the door…
“Kyaa?!”
“There are two of you, huh?”
“I’m sorry.”
The owners of the gaze turned out to be Juli and Saeka-chan.
“Ryusuke-kun, you mentioned you have the national tournament this summer break, so here’s a charm for you.”
“Thank you, Saeka-chan.”
After gratefully receiving the charm from Saeka-chan, she ran off home. Just as I was about to ask Juli if she needed anything…
“I’m sorry!”
“Eh, no.”
“Then, excuse me!”
Juli ran off, but I couldn’t help but think she was a bit silly. After all, she ran away even though a teacher was right in front of her. As expected, she got caught and was severely scolded for running in the hallway.
Her slow walk back resembled a kitten being scolded by its mother, which was amusing enough to make me laugh. Just as I was about to really head home with my stuff…
“Ryusuke, let’s head back together!”
“Sakagami!”
Sakagami arrived at the classroom just in time, inviting me to head home together. I nodded firmly, and we left the school, chatting leisurely on the way home.
“I’d love to come support you at the national tournament, but it’s at my own expense, plus it’s Kumagai-san, right?”
“Yeah, it’s Kumagai-san…”
“Good luck.”
“Yeah…”
“If you lose…”
“Stop, I don’t even want to think about it.”
“Right?”
Our casual conversation continued until we reached home.
☆☆☆
“I’m home.”
Expecting someone to be home, I called out loudly, but it seemed that neither of them had returned yet. I was heading to my room after taking off my shoes when I heard laughter from the guest room.
Cautiously opening the door a crack, I saw Matsuri-san and Ririka, along with a handsome man and a good-looking elementary school student, sitting face to face, engaged in conversation.
Deciding to pretend I hadn’t seen anything, I returned to my room to start on the assignments given out, but the voices from their conversation grew louder, disrupting my concentration, and I gave up on studying.
Who was that man? Curiosity nagged at me, but I knew if I went to greet them in the living room with a “I’m home,” I would end up being teased.
Reluctantly, I decided to try and sleep, pushing earphones into my ears and lying down on the bed.
Tomorrow marks the start of summer vacation.
◆ ◇ ◆
With the start of summer vacation, everyone spent the month each with their own thoughts and plans. My first priority was to clinch national victory. To that end, I increased my workout frequency, reduced my food intake to build muscle and shape my body. Amidst this, my days were disrupted by my older step-sister and younger step-sister, who had also started their summer vacation.
“Onii-chan, Onee-chan is—!!”
“What, what happened again?”
“It’s not that, Ryusuke-kun!”
First off, the fights in the morning over who would make my breakfast often delayed the meal. I could have easily made it myself, but as soon as I stood in the kitchen with a knife in hand, I would get scolded to put the knife down.
Wondering how to resolve this, I decided to create a duty roster, assigning Matsuri-san to some days and Ririka to others. This was fine until it came to my workouts, where they would fight over who would help me with my training.
I wish I could do it alone. Yet, opposing the two of them would only put me in a bad position, so I ended up saying nothing.
Days passed, and about a week later, with only a short time left until the tournament, I received a call from the coach.
“Yes, Ryusuke speaking.”
“Oh, it’s noisy there.”
“Sorry. My step-sisters are fighting. Do you need something?”
“Ah, Miyuki has been discharged from the hospital and it seems we can accompany you to the national tournament.”
“Really?!”
“Yeah!”
“I’ll contact Kumagai-san then!”
“No need, I’ve already done so. Your message isn’t necessary. She’s rooting for you, telling you to do your best.”
The news that Miyuki-san had been discharged and would be joining us to support me at the national tournament was a big boost.
When I contacted Sakagami about whether he was coming, he invited me to hang out tomorrow as part of the tournament support. Gratefully, I agreed to the plans and looked forward to the next day.

The next morning, I woke up to the sounds of my step-sisters fighting, a morning just like any other. I quickly gobbled down some bread left out for me while coordinating with Sakagami about where to meet, and was about to head out with my wallet when…
“Are you going somewhere?”
“Out with friends.”
“Then, take this.”
Matsuri-san handed me 10,000 yen, but I declined because I had been saving up my pocket money for a while now, so I had enough to hang out with friends without needing extra.
“Won’t you think I’m stingy…?”
“No, I won’t!”
“Really?”
“I’m fine, really. I’ll be off then!”
“Okay…”
I dashed out of the house, heading to the meeting spot where Sakagami and the others were waiting.
