Yandere and Menhera - Suddenly Having a Yandere Older Stepsister and a Menhera Younger Stepsister Makes Every Day Difficult - Chapter 1 - 21/22
Ten minutes later, it appeared they had reconciled, shaking hands and becoming so amicable that none of the prior murderous intent could be felt.
However, I wish they wouldn’t do it right in front of me. Especially not praising me to high heavens.
“Matsuri-san says Kanazawa-kun looks so cute when he’s sleepy in the morning,”
“And Yuka-san says, ‘His profile when he’s running is just so cool!'”
I earnestly wished for them to stop, and it was at that moment, as Yuka-san was patting my head, she said.
“We’ve made up, but I’ve ended up liking Kanazawa-san.”
“Oh? Kanazawa-kun is mine. I won’t permit it.”
The murderous intent started to emanate from them again. I got fed up and, wanting them to stop fighting, said to both of them with an angry face,
“Please, stop it. Both of you!”
“…Sorry.”
Both of them apologized with a bit of a shy and slightly sad face. I was happy they stopped fighting, but I couldn’t shake off the feeling that this wasn’t the end of it as I parted ways with Yuka-san and walked home with Matsuri-san.
On the way home, I asked Matsuri-san,
“Matsuri-san, why did you fight?”
“Because, I’ve always been the one looking after Kanazawa-kun.”
“I want to be free to love.”
“Kanazawa-kun is always surrounded by girls, it makes your sister lonely.”
“I plan to discuss going to a high school in Kyushu if I perform well at the national middle school competition.”
“Eh?!”
That was when I decided. If I either win or come in second at the national middle school judo competition, I would go to a high school in Kyushu known for its strong judo program.
Matsuri-san was silent the whole way home, which worried me, but I felt relieved that I could share my concerns about high school with her.
Then, Ririka-chan, with her backpack on, asked,
“What about school for both of you?”
“Eh?”
“It’s a weekday today, you know?”
“Oh no, we forgot!!!”
It was already past 7:40, and even if we left now, we’d barely make it on time. I quickly finished showering in 5 minutes, changed into my uniform, and dashed out of the house.

I arrived at school right at 8:30, just as the teacher was coming in.
“Good morning, everyone. Congratulations to those who have secured their spot for the nationals after the middle school competition. For everyone else, it’s time to switch gears to entrance exam preparations,” the teacher greeted.
After the greeting, there was a bit of time before the first period. Saeka-chan, who sits behind me, tapped my shoulder to get my attention.
“Good morning, Saeka-chan.”
“Mm. Hey, do you want to hang out today?”
“Ah, I need to study.”
“How about at my place then?”
“…Mm.”
“Worried about your sisters?”
“Well, that’s part of it, but…”
“It’s okay. Come over.”
“Alright, I understand.”
After school, I promised to study at Saeka-chan’s house and focused on my lessons.

After the final, sixth period ended and the clock passed 4:30, everyone started to leave the classroom, backpacks slung over their shoulders, heading home.
Saeka and I pretended to be getting ready to leave until everyone else had left the classroom, spending the time until we were the last ones there. When the last person besides us had left, Saeka turned to me and said,
“Everyone’s gone, huh?”
“Yeah.”
“Shall we go?”
“Are you sure it’s okay?”
“Yeah. My, um, dad won’t be home until tonight.”
“Alright. Let’s go.”
I decided not to care what Matsuri-san or Ririka-chan might say to me later and left the school with Saeka.
“This way.”
Following Saeka’s directions, I walked alongside her, feeling uplifted by her cheerful demeanor. After a few minutes, she pointed out, “This is it.”
“Here?”
“Yep!”
What Saeka pointed to was a luxurious three-story house. I entered through the opened front door, feeling a bit nervous.
The shoe cupboard was huge, with guest slippers made of a fluffy material that seemed too luxurious for ordinary people to use. I asked Saeka, out of curiosity,
“Saeka-chan, what does your dad do?”
“He’s a lawyer.”
“Oh…”
It made sense to me then that a lawyer could afford a house like this. I looked around the house nervously, unable to move from the spot where the slippers were placed. Seeing this, Saeka pulled my hand and led me inside.
“Over here!”
“Ah, okay.”
She took me to a room that screamed ‘girly,’ decorated with cute stuffed animals and wallpapers of models popular among girls.
Then, Saeka started hurriedly hiding something. While I thought I shouldn’t look, I couldn’t help but glance around and noticed her putting away a stuffed animal.
“Um…”
“Huh?!”
“About the stuffed animal…”
“…There’s none?”
“But I saw…”
“…You know, I’m not good with people and kinda stick out in class.”
Saeka suddenly opened up to me with her troubles. It made me feel somewhat happy, thinking she trusted me. I quietly looked for a place that seemed okay to sit and settled down in seiza (kneeling position).
Then, perhaps sensing my attentiveness, Saeka continued,
“And then, Kanazawa-kun, you talked to me, remember?”
“Eh?”
“Do you not remember?”
“Sorry.”
“No, it’s okay.”
“Wait, were you the one whose stuffed animal got taken by a teacher during the entrance ceremony?”
“Can we not bring that up now…”
“So that was Saeka-chan back then.”
Our connection went back to about two years ago, during the middle school entrance ceremony.
At the time, I didn’t know it was Saeka, but I remember a girl hugging a stuffed animal, tearfully talking to a teacher. She was known since elementary school as someone who couldn’t talk to anyone without her stuffed animal.
When the teacher took her stuffed animal, and she couldn’t make a sound, I impulsively snatched it back from the teacher and ended up in a chase, doing what definitely shouldn’t have been done.
Eventually, Saeka and the teacher made up, and I got off without any punishment. That’s how Saeka and I started talking more.
Lost in these memories, I didn’t notice Saeka calling me until she shook my shoulder.
“Hey, are you listening?”
“Ah, sorry, sorry.”
“Um, Kanazawa-kun, do you like someone right now?”
“Whoa, that’s direct.”
“I mean, after the whole Sakagami thing, I didn’t know how else to ask.”
“I don’t really know what liking someone means. I’m still just a middle schooler, after all!”
“So, I see…”
Saeka looked a bit sad but smiled after a few seconds.
“Let’s study, okay?!”
“Ah, yeah.”
Saeka brought out a mini-table and set it up for studying. I took out my study materials, and we began studying together.
