Yandere and Menhera - Suddenly Having a Yandere Older Stepsister and a Menhera Younger Stepsister Makes Every Day Difficult - Chapter 1 - 2
Frozen in place in the guest room, lost in a daze, my mom approached me… As she was tidying up the cushions in the guest room, she started talking to me.
“Ryusuke, I’m really sorry. This was so sudden.”
The smile she had when she was with that man earlier had disappeared, and her face a portrait of sorrow, she apologized, putting aside her own happiness for my sake.
Ultimately, I realized these were my own projections, having completely disregarded what Mom truly thought.
So, I said to my mom.
“Mom. Give me some time to face that person properly tomorrow. I’ll organize my thoughts properly.”
“Okay. Thank you.”
Mom nodded quietly with a smile. Her kindness touched my heart.
Mom and I usually eat dinner at 8 PM, but until then, I locked myself in my room, thinking about my mom’s remarriage and the two girls who would live with us.
If I were to okay this, there would be a mountain of problems to consider, like the bath, where to put clothes, room assignments, and how many futons we need.
It seemed one of the girls was definitely in elementary school, but the older sister seemed like she was still a student.
I thought about needing space for study, what foods they could eat, what they disliked, and so on.
Then, it hit me.
Hold on. Was I thinking all this under the assumption that we’d be living together?
If asked whether I simply don’t want to live with them, living with girls seems exciting and fun, with no reason to refuse. In fact, any accidental pervert moments would be a blissful bonus from my perspective.
With those thoughts, I found my answer.
I went to the living room, ate my mom’s homemade meal, returned to my room to study, and when it was time to sleep, I lay down in my futon, closed my eyes, and waited for the next day.

The morning after, my mom called the middle school, concerned that there might be some mental exhaustion involved, and kindly asked for me to be given a day off.
Shortly after my mom had contacted the school, that man and Matsuri (older step-sister) came to visit. Seeing that Ririka (younger step-sister) was not around, the man, with a puzzled look marked by a question in his mind, spoke to me right before stepping over the threshold.
“Thank you for your time. I’ve made up my mind too. I’d be happy if you could share your thoughts.”
“Thank you very much for going out of your way to come here.”
I greeted him with the most polite introduction I had researched the night before, invited the man inside, and led him to the parlor to sit opposite each other and start our conversation.
“Let me reintroduce myself, I’d like to ask for your mother’s hand in marriage. My name is Seiya.”
“Yes, I’m Ryusuke. Pleased to make your acquaintance.”
As we were exchanging these stiff greetings, the sound of tea being set down ‘clinked,’ seemingly resetting the atmosphere of the room. Seiya then started speaking to me with a serious look, directly into my eyes.
“I actually met your mom a few years ago. Since then, I’ve been embarrassed to admit, I’ve been struggling with my wife’s emotional abuse. It was during that time your mom came to my side.”
I had seen my mom get dressed up and go out a few times when she had days off from work, but I never imagined she was meeting this man. I was surprised and remained silent, listening intently to his story.
“It’s not just because your mom was kind to me that I fell for her. She talks about you with such joy. That’s what attracted me to her.”
“Is that so?”
“I know I’m being presumptuous, and saying this might even upset you more, but could you let me say it?”
Seiya looked at me with the utmost seriousness. Dismissing his determination would be rude, almost mocking, not just to him but to the man my mother loves. I nodded silently in agreement.
“I want to marry your mom. I know it sounds like I want to take the mother you adore away from you. It’s not about wanting kindness or some trivial matter like that.”
“Mother isn’t just ‘mine,’ and ever since dad died, she’s really been putting on a brave face. She’s had her tough times raising me too. You’re going to make her happy, right?”
I asked Seiya with a seriousness to match his own.
Seiya treated me with respect, not underestimating me because I was younger, and spoke with genuine sincerity.
