"Please support me on Ko-fi! Thank you!"
Chapter 78: Operation Cooking Part 2
“Ruka, how are things going over there?”
“It’s good, Kashiwagi-san! Thank you for letting me use your house!”
On the other side of the kitchen, Kashiwagi-san was also cooking.
The kitchen was so spacious that there were two places to cook separately.
Kashiwagi-san also wanted to serve her home-cooked food, so we arranged today’s schedule to coincide with his precious day off.
“What are you talking about? Use it as if it were your own home. I also made another key, so you can keep it.”
“I can’t accept that kind of thing from you…”
Kashiwagi-san, you can’t just give away a spare key so easily…
Despite feeling uneasy about her lax security management as usual, I made sushi rice, which is essential for sushi.
I cooked the rice firmly and mixed it with rice vinegar, sugar, and a little salt.
After adding air while mixing, the delicious sushi rice was complete.
“Lilia, can you fan here with that fan over there?”
“Oh? Is it that hot? Well, okay. I’m making it for you, after all.”
Lilia-chan said that and began to fan me.
“…”
The pleasant wind brushed against my cheeks.
“…Yamamoto, isn’t it the sushi rice you wanted her to fan? Why didn’t you tell that to Lilia instead?”
“Well, I don’t mind being fanned like this too…”
“If it was the sushi rice, you should have said so~!”
Lilia blushed and pinched my cheeks.
Even though it was a plan to get along with Lilia, it seems like I had managed to upset her again.
When the sushi rice was done, I opened a large styrofoam box.
Inside, the main sushi ingredients such as salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and amberjack were all chilled on ice.
Kashiwagi-san laughed a bit dismissively.
“But seriously, I was surprised when you asked for permission to go out last night. You have an amazing amount of energy.”
“Well, I wanted to buy fresh ingredients at the fishing port! I wanted to serve the freshly caught fish of the day!”
“W-what!? You went that far!? The sea is so far from here!”
Lilia was surprised as she munched on the sushi rice.
“I just really wanted to serve you and Lilia something delicious. That’s the nature of a chef.”
“I-is that so! That’s… um, I’m happy…”
Lilia thanked me in a small voice.
