Chapter 75: Summer Festival Date Part 4
“It’s about time for the fireworks to start!”
The sun had already set. After enjoying the shooting game for a bit, I then spoke to Kashiwagi-san, who was holding the teddy bear protectively.
“You’re right. Alexander Stacy III also wants to see them,”
Kashiwagi-san said as she moved the teddy bear’s arms as if it were alive.
“… is that the name of the teddy bear, by any chance? You have a very unique sense of naming.”
“It’s a precious stuffed animal you got for me. I named it so I won’t forget it, okay? Alexandra…Stanley V?”
“You haven’t remembered it at all!”
Thinking that she was hopeless, I made a suggestion.
“Let’s go to a place where we can see the fireworks better! How about the clock tower square in the center?”
Kashiwagi-san waved her index finger left and right and looked proud.
“Yamamoto, don’t you think it would be kind of a turn off if there were too many people? Why don’t we just go to a place where we can see them together, alone, somewhere other than the central square?”
“But, is there even such a place? Everywhere is so crowded,”
“If there isn’t, we’ll keep looking. How about walking down this alleyway? There’s nobody here, and we might find a great spot.”
With those words, Kashiwagi-san pointed towards a narrow and dimly lit path.
“I don’t mind, but that might not be a good place to see the fireworks from. Besides, walking around in an unfamiliar yukata might tire you out…”
“That’s okay, we can take a break at a nearby hotel if we get too tired. There was that castle-like hotel we saw earlier, so let’s go!”
It seemed that Kashiwagi-san’s exploratory spirit had been ignited.
She immediately ran towards the narrow path, so I followed after her.
“Kashiwagi-san, it’s dangerous to run!”
“Hahaha! Try to catch me if you can! And besides, there’s no one else walking in a place like this anyway, so it’s safe— Gyafunf!”
Kashiwagi-san apparently bumped into someone at a corner and in the process, she fell on her backside and crushed the teddy bear with her butt that she was carrying it close to her chest.
It was the moment when I felt envious of the teddy bear.
“Ah! Adventure Stratos VIII!”
Kashiwagi called out to the teddy bear with a name that had lost all semblance of its original form.
However, the teddy bear seemed fine with just a little dirt on it.
It had protected Kashiwagi’s butt, and was now known as Ashur Smithnov II.
However, the people Kashiwagi collided with were two rough-looking American men with tattoos.
They looked like gangsters, but sometimes people like them could be unexpectedly kind, I think?
“Hey, hey, little sis did a number on me! My arm’s broken from that hit just now!”
“How are you going to make up for this, Aan?”
As I broke out in a cold sweat as I hastily hid Kashiwagi-san behind my back.
