With great powers, comes a great harem! - Chapter 88- Intention
The atmosphere around the venue shifted dramatically once the pair along with the Kurokawa head walked in.
The fact Kurokawa Ryouya appeared right along with his disowned grandson signified many things and made many people around the place, reevaluate Yuki’s worth.
Those who came here with the thought of forming a connection with the Karuizawa clan also lost their hopes upon finding Maya beside the potential successor of the Kurokawa clan.
The expression Misaki wore upon finding his ex-older brother currently being escorted by the clan head, was anything but friendly. The glass in his hand shattered into pieces as he watched the three moving toward the aisle while having a casual conversation.
‘….he never even bothered talking to me unless necessary and now…’ A very old sensation of pure hatred was born in his heart as Misaki indignantly glared at his ‘dear brother’.

“Enjoy the refreshment. I will attend to some guests.”
Yuki nodded absentmindedly to the old man before Ryouya walked toward a group of men which consisted of his Yuki’s uncle as well.
Yuki was still a little stunned by the fact that the clan head came to welcome him and Maya, out of anyone.
“Yuki-sama….is this a way of telling everyone that you now belong to Kurokawa?” Maya’s condensed voice woke him up from the daze as he glanced in her direction.
Not good. She definitely isn’t in the best mood—Yuki discerned before he pulled her toward a side to chat in private.
The people around them were eyeing the two quite intently, which was uncomfortable. Not to talk there was Misaki and Willson Ryan in the event as well—who definitely didn’t have any good intentions toward him.
Maya followed his lead and after they reached a small table, the waiter served some light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.
“Maya, we have already talked about this, right?”
Yuki has formed his decision regarding the clan and the Patriarch’s decision.
Yuki was going to be declared as the next clan head today and this fact was only known to Ryouya and on Yuki’s side, Maya, Amaye and Shio knew about it.
He would be given the time until he graduates from the Tower and until then Ryouya would manage the clan in his stead. Once Yuki returned, he would be trained under the best of council members and after that, Kurokawa Yuki would become the Patriarch of the Kurokawa clan.
Yuki could sense that she wasn’t fully convinced which ushered him to add, “I need the treasures of the Kurokawa clan, and having such a big authority in my hand would be beneficial in the long run.”
“But they abandoned you, Yuki-sama.”
“I know, but either I can get completely engulfed by the flames of revenge or be calm and think of my benefits. Surely if I decided to take revenge on the clan, then in a year or two I would reach that level where destroying the Patriarch and the whole clan, wouldn’t pose a problem for me. But Maya, you tell me, would you like that?”
She didn’t think twice before responding, “Of course I won’t. However, it is a fact that Yuki-sama has suffered a lot in the past years because of them.”
In a whispering tone, she added, “…not like I was any better than those people…”
Yuki sighed upon hearing that, however, before he could say anything, someone sat on the seat beside him.
“Long time, brat.”
Maya’s eyes widened as she never felt the person approaching until the moment she landed beside Yuki.
“Kaede-san…you have changed.” Looking at the older lady with raven hair and aquamarine eyes, Yuki couldn’t help saying.
“How so?”
“I mean, it took you more than ten minutes to realize that I am here. Well, should I say age has finally started acting upon you?”
Kaede frowned before pinching Yuki’s wrist, “You have become quite cocky just in a month, eh? Now I think, that wimpy and always scared Yuki was more pleasing to eyes.”
Seeing the two chatting in such a friendly and intimate manner, Maya frowned before she interjected, “Yuki-sama….this?”
It wasn’t that Maya was not aware of Kaede’s identity but her connection to Yuki remained a mystery for Maya—urging her to ask.
“Ah, I forgot to tell you before.” Gesturing toward Kaede he said, “She is the benefactor who helped me a month ago. If not for her then I might have been rotting in some prison cell for murdering my school bully.”
Yuki was feeling a bit surprised in himself. As Kaede said, he never felt scared or anxious talking about Subaru, who had tormented him and made Yuki’s school life a hell. Maybe it was the effect of going through consecutive attempted murders the past few weeks?
On the other side, Maya’s eyes were slightly widened as she looked at Kaede and lowered her head,
“For the help you bestowed upon Yuki-sama, I am very thankful for that.”
Kaede barely held herself from getting flustered. Being thanked by such a beautiful girl, a leading heir of one of the four major clans, no less…definitely not something Kaede faces every day.
“It’s okay; don’t lower your head. I did what I deemed correct. Yuki has potential that’s why I decided to scrap that case.”
Once Maya raised her head, Kaede turned her attention to the boy beside her before she asked, “Tho I still can’t comprehend how you two got together. Last I remember, your temper upon hearing Karuizawa Maya’s name was not very friendly.”
An embarrassed smile formed on his face as Yuki glanced at Maya.
This was the same direction where their conversation was heading before Kaede arrived.
“It’s a long story, Kaede-san.”
Kaede took a sip of the wine she held before saying,
“Well, not like there is something better to do.”

On the other side of the hall, Misaki was suddenly called by his father on the phone.
Heeding the call, Misaki went toward the back side of the venue after excusing himself from the group.
His mind was filled with rage and frustration—more so after the renowned S-rank hunter suddenly became all chummy to that bastard.
‘Why did everyone suddenly start liking him?! Is it because he is dual-awakened? How is that any good if his first skill was never of any use? Isn’t he just a regular awakened then?!’ Misaki ground his teeth in frustration with his facial expression never changing from a scowl.
After reaching the place where his Father called him, Misaki directly stated, “I am gonna beat that asshole to a pulp, and don’t stop me, father.”
The older man with greenish hair didn’t reprimand his son for his impulsive decision rather he said,
“It’s not a choice anymore, Misaki. You have to crush him or Yuki would take away the throne from you.”
Misaki’s eyes widened as he asked, “What do you mean by that?”
“Patriarch has decided to declare him the successor and the next clan head today. Once that happens, no power in this world can stop Yuki from becoming the next head.”
Misaki’s body trembled in agitation.
First, he took away the affection of their grandfather during childhood. Then, the woman he should have been engaged to was also stolen by him. And now….the position which Misaki deserved would be handed over to him as well?
Unacceptable!
‘Today, only one of us would live through this day.’
