With great powers, comes a great harem! - Chapter 78- Artwork?
The wintery nights of December didn’t affect the magicians, appointed to guard the main house of Karuizawa.
The place where the patriarch of the clan resides is naturally heavily guarded. The number of magicians appointed for security purposes exceeded fifty and the number of armed forces was nearly the same numbers.
One has to remember that magicians in today’s world are invaluable resources and are needed in almost every field. And given the ratio of how many people awaken, the importance of magicians arises significantly.
For the Karuizawa clan to possess fifty magicians just as their security measures were still a decent amount.
Four elevated watch towers around the mansion. Eight underground bunkers and several guards patrolling around the premises—this was a troublesome security setup if looking from an ambusher’s point of view.
However, not for someone who could use Space Magic and appear anywhere through their mere will.
Maya, who has spent years in the mansion, has naturally gone through a plan, just in case she needs to demolish her clan.
Since the start, the only purpose of her life was to keep her Lord safe, and for that, she separated herself from him. She loathed him and showed her disgust so that her family members doesn’t harm him.
Everything she did was because she prayed that her parents wouldn’t try hurting the only person whom Maya couldn’t see in pain.
However, she was wrong to hope. She was wrong to have any expectations. She was wrong to believe that if she just took her eyes away from the world, the world would also stop looking at her.
She was wrong. And Maya was well set on correcting her mistake.
“Unnghuuuu…..” Seeing the guard, flailing like a fish upon having all four limbs torn apart, Maya showed no expression. Those cold stone eyes she possessed had no shade. She was plainly murdering everyone that came between her and her destination.
“Who goes there-” Before another guard could cry in alarm, Maya created a small portal near her face and inserted her hand inside it.
The moment she pulled her hand out, the man fell to the ground with life fading from his eyes.
Maya squeezed the heart she had in her grasp and allowed the blood to splatter around the open field.
She already sensed the horde of security guards coming in her way in which magicians were also present.
Although a direct confrontation wouldn’t have led to her defeat, she didn’t want to create a commotion and alert the person, whom Maya came to meet.
Maya extended her perception, locked every being’s coordinates, and teleported them high above the surface—near the stratosphere before allowing gravity to do its work.
Once she was done finishing off every person in her path, she finally opened a portal and disappeared from the backyard of the mansion—only to appear behind the matriarch of the clan.
…
“Hello, mother. Missed me?”
Miyako slowly turned to look at her daughter whose face was tainted by the blood of those who were supposed to protect her. The gleam in Maya’s eyes made her breath ragged and her subconscious screaming for her to run away from the maniac that her daughter had become.
This was the first time in these few months that Miyako got to see her daughter…but she surely did not want to meet her in this state.
“M-Maya…p-ple-ah!” Before Miyako could have even spoken some words properly Maya advanced toward the woman—making Miyako fall on the sofa.
Maya didn’t halt her steps and advanced toward the lady who was responsible for her Lord’s suffering. Maya didn’t take any action last time since her Lord told her not to. But this time, things went a little too out of order and her Lord had to go through that much anguish.
No, that wasn’t right. Her beloved doesn’t deserve to suffer anymore. Her beloved has lost blood and cried in pain. She has witnessed all that through her own eyes.
That pain…those screams…every single drop of his blood…Maya would compensate for all of that.
“Don’t scream mother, and I will keep the pain to the bare minimum.” Landing her left knee in the middle of Miyako’s legs, Maya took out an amber-red dagger which had a red ruby attached at the end of the handle.
Miyako’s eyes widened in shock as she saw Maya bringing that dagger near her face, before she hurriedly uttered,
“Please, Maya! Please, I beg you! I am your mother!! Please-AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!” A thunderous shout echoed across the mansion as Maya connected the tip of the dagger to her mother’s forehead.
The added feature of the blade melted Miyako’s skin and flesh, and the blood from her visage burnt into smoke.
Maya tilted her head with a smile as she used her inhumane strength to keep Miyako in place and continued her artwork down the older one’s face.
“You shouldn’t have hurt him, mother….now please pay for your sins.”
“MAYAAAAA!!!PLEASE! I BEG YOU, STOP THIS! STOOOOOOOOOOPPP!!”
Maya clicked her tongue before leaping away from the woman as she sensed a domineering presence advancing toward her.
**BOOOOOOM**
The ceiling of the room was broken with a loud explosion before a man in his early forties wearing a formal suit landed in the room.
“Miyako!” Hotarou rushed toward his wife, whose face was still actively burning, and used his skill to freeze the wound from extending anymore.
“A-Anata…” Tears welled in Miyako’s eyes before she hugged her husband tightly and began to sob in pain and horror
Hotarou held his wife tenderly in his arms as a sigh of relief escaped his lips. If only a little longer and Miyako might have been…
Hotarou turned his bloodshot eyes toward his daughter before he spat through his greeted teeth,
“You better have an explanation for this or I will make sure you won’t raise those hands against anyone in the future.”
Maya indifferently looked at the scene before she decided to return to her lord. She has long lost her affection for her family to be affected by her father’s anger.
However, just as she was about to open the portal, she felt a presence nearing—making Maya’s eyes widen.
…her lord was here!
