With great powers, comes a great harem! - Chapter 77- Long time
“For once, can’t you stop getting tangled up in trouble?” Hearing Kazuya’s grumble, Yuki didn’t say anything.
The event that occurred in the shopping mall was now all over the media. Just at that moment, Yuki was found to be on a killing spree, the main preparator called the police before killing himself using some sort of drug, he had between his teeth.
Yuki was aware that something like this could happen. While he was roaming around the market with Maya and Shio before arriving at the mall, he noticed that the police force around the area was dense.
The district where the mall was situated, wasn’t too popular to be so heavily guarded. It aroused his suspicion. And after some humans ambushed them, Yuki knew, that the moment, the main planners got caught in his trap, they would seek the help of the police. It was not a natural counter but rather a planned strategy.
If they could kill Yuki, then that’s that. And if not, Yuki would be labeled as a mass murderer of the citizens. The news of a magician slaughtering regular humans would trigger the public’s view on the long-suppressed matter of ‘Threats living with the supernaturals’.
And the person to trigger the division between magician and non-magician was none other than Yuki.
He would be targeted from both sides.
“Professor Kazuya. There are surveillance cameras in the mall. Surely, I wouldn’t be charged for the murders right?” While getting treated by the nurse, Yuki asked.
They were in a private hospital to get treated for injuries after the happenstance. The whole ordeal just put Yuki under a lot of strain however, the moment he destroyed the first mutant, he knew he was under control of the situation.
Although he couldn’t kill the last one by himself, the torture he went through was still worth it.
“You wouldn’t have been taken in custody even if there weren’t any cameras. However, the views of the media and local citizens surely would be a hassle to handle. For safety purposes, don’t leave the tower during vacations as well.”
Yuki nodded to that. He was not fully aware of how bad the situation was, however, if the blue-haired man in front was making such a grim face, Yuki should really pay heed to the warning.
Soon Kazuya left to finish the other formalities.

Yuki didn’t have to turn to look, to identify the person, “Maya…”
With a downcast look, she made her way toward his bed and stood near him.
She stared at the thin vessel injecting the lost blood into her Lord and the compressing bandages applied to his wound for fast recovery. There were no healers in the hospital so modern technology remains the only option.
“Maya-”
“Why?” Yuki sighed hearing her question. Without asking her he knew what she wanted to know.
“Because they would have ceased their attack if you had involved yourself.”
After Yuki destroyed the mutant with a headbutt, Maya regained enough control over her magic that she would have assisted or worse, slaughtered every being in the mall except for Yuki and Shio.
However, she was forbidden by her Lord to interfere. Through their connection, Yuki continuously told her to remain by Shio’s side and not to get out of the barrier.
Because of the effect of his skill, [Slavery] Maya was forced to not even move against Yuki’s will and all she could do was watch him getting abused by those hoodlums.
“Maya, I wanted to know who are the people behind this attack. I had my suspicion but hearing it from them cleared my doubts.”
From the beginning, Yuki knew that either his own family or Maya’s family would be against the idea of letting Yuki gain any more fame and strength. However, to think they would invest so much in the mutants and even bribe police for this…
About how the ambushers even included Maya in the list of betrayers, then Yuki never believed such a farce. He just pretended to be shocked at that time to make the assailant believe, how devastated and helpless Yuki was.
Yuki trusts Maya, not only because he can see her loyalty status on his system panel, but also because he has seen, how far she could go for his safety.
Maya remained silent to his persuasion, urging Yuki to extend his hand and hold hers; softly.
“Maya…I apologize for what happened. But please try to understand what I did was for the best.”
Maya neither agreed nor rejected his words, rather she shook her hands off before informing him,
“I will go and check on Shio.”
Yuki could only heave a sigh in grief and regret seeing Maya’s retreating figure.
…she seems beyond frustrated this time.

Turning off the TV, the blond woman in her late thirties smiled in satisfaction as she leaned on her recliner chair.
The lady of the house Karuizawa has thoroughly planned the setup while keeping this outcome in mind. If not physically then Yuki would be destroyed publicly first. The shame it would bring to the Kurokawa clan if they decided to take Yuki back in, would surely make the clan head; hesitate.
‘Everything is going a-huh?!’
Suddenly, Karuizawa Miyako’s eyes widened as she immediately sprang to her feet and walked toward her window.
Peeking out she tried to find the source of such massive killing intent she just felt.
The sensation of death was approaching quite drastically, to the point, that her forehead was already drenched with cold sweat and her whole person seemed to be shaking under tremendous fear.
“I-Is it that b-bastard? No!” Miyako knew it wasn’t possible for Yuki to dare to attack her, the lady of the Karuizawa family.
However, who could carry such massive blood lust yet still be around the premises of the mansion?
“…?” Her body suddenly flinched, as Miyako turned still in an evident fret. She could feel the source of such weighing intent was a lot closer to her….a little too close to hide from it.
Miyako’s body was not reacting to her command. Her body and soul seemed to be surrendered under the pressure of the being standing behind her.
Amidst the deafening silence, the familiar voice of the ambusher resonated,
“Hello, mother. Missed me?”
