With great powers, comes a great harem!

Early in the morning, Yuki received an email from the homeroom teacher. The mail read:

[Meet me in my office sharp at 7. Don’t bring anyone along with you.]

The message was explicit and to the point, which suggested it wasn’t a pre-recorded message but Professor herself wrote it.

Yuki expected something like this so he didn’t panic much…however, this attitude was exclusive to him.

“I say, how about we run away?” Yuki couldn’t help smiling wryly upon hearing the suggestion from Shio which was somewhat the same as what Maya proposed yesterday.

“…it’s too late now. The change of surveillance occurs late at night at three dot eleven. We had the best chance to escape at that time. ” In all seriousness, Maya responded. She has already taken various things into account the very same day when Yuki got enrolled.

At that time, there was something else on her mind for which she investigated the perfect time for escape…but now, the scenario was different.

“And what about your teleportation? Can’t we use that?”

Hearing Shio’s slightly hurried tone, Maya sighed. She was right about that. Maya was proficient with space magic and knew how to teleport to a decent distance.

However…”If we teleport from the tower, two glaring issues would bite us immediately. First, there are magic tracers that would immediately know where we have headed, and escaping school would immediately put the label of culprits on our heads. Second, my teleportation could only lead us up to a kilometer of range.”

The tower was situated on an island with the nearest coast almost seven kilometers away. If they teleport then it wouldn’t be long for the marine security of the tower to track and capture them.

Shio’s raised finger weakened its vigor as the words she had in her mouth, never left her throat.

Surrendering to the situation she plopped on the couch, with a helpless sigh leaking from her lips.

“Why am I so weak…” Shio couldn’t help cursing herself, and she wasn’t the only one having such thoughts.

On the other end, Yuki was getting ready for school as he combed his hair and fixed his tie with a casual smile on his lips.

Shio’s gaze subconsciously went to him, before she asked in an uncertain tone, “Aren’t you worried, Yuki-kun? Professor Maki is an S-rank so if she blames you for killing your classmate, it would be nothing less than impossible to escape her office.”

In their mind, Shio and Maya knew that Professor Maki had called Yuki to her office in regard to the incident that transpired the previous day.

However, Yuki had different thoughts, which he gladly shared with the other two,

“Why do you think, that she is going to capture me or something? If they really would have considered me a criminal, then instead of just an email, they would have sent security to cuff me up.”

“They won’t dare.” Immediately, the temperature of the room dropped just upon the mention of Yuki getting cuffed.

Yuki raised his brows upon seeing this side of Maya after a long time. Even Shio was frightened enough to make her jump a little.

“Don’t worry, Maya.” Taking hold of her hand which instantly dispelled all the gloomy clouds around her, Yuki continued, “I am sure nothing sort of extreme would happen. This merely is about keeping the spar a secret or something similar. They can’t afford to let the Willson name become a source of mockery after all.”

Feeling his warmth through their adjoined hand, made Maya calm down a little as she breathed heavily and nodded in understanding.

Yuki offered his other hand to Shio which she took without a second delay as she stood up on her feet.

Pulling her closer, Yuki assured both of them, “I know things have gone south because of my carelessness but I promise, nothing will be able to disturb this peaceful life of ours.”

There was a tinge of stubbornness in his voice that indicated how serious and reluctant Yuki was about this matter. And why won’t he?

After years of struggle, he finally has people he can call his own, and the strength to preserve his happiness.

“What about Amaye-nee?”Hearing Shio’s whisper, Yuki sighed.

It wasn’t like he forgot about his sister who would be arriving at the Tower nearly around lunchtime, but he was rather worried about what if she found all these messed up situations happening around him.

“Haah…I will think something about that.”

Since it was only seven in the morning, not so many students could be seen around the campus, except for some who liked to run outdoors rather than using the indoor facilities provided.

Yuki was also thinking of beginning his morning run again since he couldn’t get that feeling with treadmills as much as he enjoyed while jogging in the open.

Making his way through the dorm area, Yuki entered the Academy building where all the faculty offices were situated.

Yuki noticed how everyone was glancing at him at least twice as they passed by him. Yuki couldn’t help but shake his head at that.

Reaching the office room of his homeroom teacher’s office, Yuki knocked twice.

“Come in.”

The office room of the lady wasn’t anything unexpected. A set of three cupboards on the left which were filled with nothing but documents and files. A rectangular table a few meters away from the door and some indoor plants. Overall, the room was normal.

The older female sat on the other side of the table, wearing an unusual frown on her face.

“Good morning, Professor.”

“Come, sit.”She gestured toward the chair arranged on Yuki’s side which the said person took without much hesitation.

He knew Professor Maki hadn’t invited him for some casual matter so her expression didn’t make him nervous.

“Yuki-kun…do you know the reason I called you?”

Yuki didn’t contemplate much before answering safely, “Maybe because of what occurred yesterday?”

He doesn’t know whether Ryan had woken up or did he tell them what happened yesterday. That was why he kept his words minimal.

Maki looked at him for a good minute, trying to discern the things Yuki’s innocent face hides…but in the end, she wasn’t Professor Kazuya to ascertain things just by a mere glance

With a sigh, she delivered the big news of the decade, “Your rank re-evaluation is about to happen. You might get promoted to the second floor of the Tower.”
