With great powers, comes a great harem! - Chapter 3- Skills
[Select eight of the attributes based on the gaming character you have played as]
[Caution: -No character could be used for more than one skill.]
[Note: – Not all the selected skills would be unlocked and would be granted along the progress.]
[Note: – Additional gifts of (Inventory) and (Shop) would be provided.]
[Note: – A gamer’s interface for the host would be created once wishes are selected.]
[Note: – Host may ask any query without being reserved since I was assigned to assist the host, solely.]
I have been staring at the screen for some time now, trying to understand whether what has been written over the bars was truly something I would be awarded or if this whole incident is just my hallucination.
Not one or two but eight?!
And I can choose the skills of those characters I have played in mobile and VR games. Just remembering how many cool characters I have lived through, virtually, makes me shiver.
Isn’t it too awesome?!
[Host needs to calm down and think rationally since one taken, no skill would be reverted nor exchanged.]
The system can read my thoughts, no surprise there.
And as the system prompted, I should first calm down and think carefully about what I should wish for since some of the characters come with the extra baggage of side effects from their skills as well.
Thanks to the fact that I was a gaming geek all my life, I have numerous characters in mind who would be ideal as my blessings. And since there are eight empty slots I don’t need to reserve and contemplate for days to make my choice.
“First would be Alexander Sccemal’s all-weapon mastery arts.”
The said character can learn any weapon he lays his hand upon and can use mundane things as his defense as well. He could create his style in weaponry and was hailed as a war veteran. The game was fantastically violent and aspiring for someone who has been trained with bokken since the age of four.
[Skill: All weapon mastery.]
[Rank: S]
[Penalty: None]
[Requirement: None]
[Description: – Regardless of weapon and requirement to wield them, the user would be able to learn how to use them and utilize their inbuilt abilities to their maximum. No matter whether a scrap or a God-slaying sword, the user would be able to bring forth the full potential upon wielding.]
“Next would be Ginnie Grabiella’s revival.”
[Skill: Revival.]
[Rank: SS]
[Penalty: None]
[Limitation: Wisdom->20]
[Description: Upon utilizing some portion of mana, the user can revive anything and anyone including himself regardless of their condition. The revival lets the user revert back the condition of the target to a certain point in the past, depending on at what point the user wants them to get reverted to. ]
[Caution: It depends on the user’s wisdom regarding how far they could target one’s state back to. In short, if the user wants to regress an entity’s condition a year back to how it was then the user should possess Wisdom stats worth a thousand.]
That settles things a lot since the path I would be venturing would require a lot of repair and this skill makes me practically immortal until I have mana running across me.
“Charles Mahbeck’s Increment skill. ”
[Skill: Increment]
[Rank: SS]
[Penalty: None]
[Requirement: None]
[Description: The longer the time user is not utilizing his mana, it would continue to increase gradually with time. No matter what state the user is in, as long they are alive and all the mana blocks are working, he would be naturally growing with the flow of his breath. ]
[Note: The level of increment has been pulled to maximum due to the blessing bonus which lets the user absorb one unit of mana per second. However, the mana reserve is still limited. ]
That is… I know, my mana reserve is limited, and I have the perfect character to fill that gap.
“Glutton’s reserve of Ajes. ”
[Skill: Gluttony]
[Rank: SSS]
[Penalty: Depends on things consumed]
[Requirement: None]
[Description: Through this skill, engulfing anything would be possible and it grants limitless reserve for both consumables items and energy. Whatever is consumed, the user would be able to temporarily use their skills]
[Note: – Combined with the skill (Increment), the user now possesses infinite mana reserve which would continuously fill for infinity.]
Sweet.
Now that my magical aspect is sorted, I need some protection.
“Barrock’s barrier skill.”
[Skill: Infinity Barrier.]
[Rank: S]
[Penalty: Soul deterioration]
[Requirement: Mana->200]
[Description: Whether mental, physical, or magical, once cast, this shield is practically unbreakable regardless of what stats the user and his opponent possess. It could be chanted to shroud the user anytime and every time danger lurks.]
[Caution: It’s the manifestation of the soul and mana so if something surpasses what is humanly possible to defend then the user may face damage inflicted directly on their soul.]
That’s… something I knew and was conflicted about whether to choose but other than this no other skill offers all-around barrier skill nor do they have the strength to block every kind of attack humanity have in store. I just need to be careful to not erect the barrier around some deity-like being, that’s it.
‘Hmm… ‘I was a bit contemplative about my next skill and to ascertain whether it would be beneficial to choose that, I asked the system to confirm something.
“Do I get a gamer’s body as well? Like stats and progressive growth?”
Yeah, yeah. I was being a greedy bitch but it wouldn’t hurt to ask since asking for a limitless physical growth skill without trying my luck is something I would not take my chances on.
[Yes, you will, host. You will have stats where you can check your progress in every aspect and along with how you grow in the distinctive fields, you would level up and get points to allocate in your stats.]
See, that’s what I was talking about.
Now that settles a lot of my concerns, I should get on some brains as well.
“Heilmein’s bookworm ability.”
[Skill: Bookworm]
[Rank: SS]
[Penalty: None]
[Requirement: None]
[Description: The ability to let yourself memorize any book you put your hands on and learn the skills listed in it masterfully. There’s no upper limit to this skill and an additional mind space library is offered as a bonus]
[Caution: Intelligence and Wisdom might play a crucial factor in whether the host would be able to understand certain books.]
That caution was something I already had in mind. And about the mind space then I didn’t know I would be granted that as well.
It’s a space in my head where I would be able to store thousands of books and store memories in a way where I could relive them at my will. It’s a great bonus, something I never thought of gaining as an add-on.
“Eririth’s healing skill.”
[Skill: Heal]
[Rank: S]
[Penalty: None]
[Requirement: None]
[Description: Can heal anything. Provides the user resistance toward every poison in existence.]
[Note: – Combining this skill with (Gluttony), now the user can consume anything, regardless of its components without stressing over side effects.]
Sometimes healing would be a better option rather than revival since that skill is used mainly to revive someone back from death and takes a whole lot of mana and to use it for mere scratches would be overkill.
And to add toppings, I got resistance to poison and the penalty of Gluttony also ceased.
‘Now onto the last one… ‘I had many skills in mind but a corner of my mind has been ringing with a certain skill since the start.
And now that I have prepared myself for the tip-to-toe, and was fortified with practically overpowered skills, I think it would not hurt to ask for this.
“Daniel Incubus’ skill, Slavery…”
