While I Was Shutting in My Room for One Year, My Parent Remarried and Now I’m Living Together With Super Beautiful Stepsisters - Chapter 68-69
Chapter 68: Kyoko’s Bedhead and Her Bouncing Breasts
“Kyoko~, we’re heading out ahead!”
Yuzuna and Momiji finished getting ready and called out to Kyoko from the entryway.
“O-Older sisters, wait a sec~”
Kyoko, who had overslept, hurried through her preparations, so she came to the entryway with her slightly messy bangs swaying like an anglerfish lure.
Her hair was not the only thing swaying as usual—those breasts of hers with their overwhelming destructive power swayed too…
“H-Hey, Kyoko, your hair.”
“Huh? Oh, sorry, Big Brother…”
When I pointed it out, Kyoko shyly pressed her hand to it.
“Alright, let’s all head to high school together today too!”
No one replied “Yeah!” to Momiji’s call, and they silently left the house.
“Kyoko, you really overslept today—were you playing games late again?”
“Oh, yeah… Actually, Lunares is starting its first rare drop campaign from this Golden Week.”
Wha… what!?
A rare drop campaign!?
In Lunares, the rare drop materials needed to synthesize the strongest weapon series only drop at an ultra-low probability that requires endless stage clears, and the news is still fresh about how some overseas whale who spent tens of millions on the game got banned by the operators for making a macro (an automated tool that memorizes action patterns), then smashed his PC.
Maybe that macro incident triggered the start of this rare drop campaign.
Whoa, I reeeally wanna play that!!!
I barely held back the urge to say it out loud and listened to Kyoko’s story.
“And lately, the clan member who was being nice to Kyoko hasn’t been logging in… She’s trying to persuade the leader somehow.”
“Eh…”
This is bad, bad.
Lately, I’ve had way too many other things going on, and I completely forgot about playing Lunares!
But Kyoko’s been handling things so it doesn’t turn into a withdrawal…
Normally, four days of no login means immediate withdrawal.
“Thanks… I mean! Hope that person comes back soon.”
“Yes, but…”
“But?”
“Oh, no… Basically, when people’s real lives start filling up, they tend to drift away from online games first.”
That super critical line hit, and I took 9999 damage.
“Is it… just Kyoko whose life isn’t filling up?”
“Oh, Kyoko…”
I thought she was fine since she hangs out happily with Yamada after school, but maybe school life isn’t that fun for her.
Sure enough, even on the Golden Week trip, aside from being dragged to the pool against her will, Kyoko apparently spent the time playing Lunares on her tablet.
When we first met, I thought she was the same type as me and felt a spontaneous sense of kinship, but looking at her like this, she seems to have something I still don’t understand.
…But I’m Kyoko’s brother.
If she has worries, I need to listen.
“Hey, Kyoko. After school, um…”
“Yes?”
I quietly made a certain proposal to Kyoko so the two walking ahead wouldn’t hear.

Chapter 69: Kyoko’s Worries?
Right after Golden Week ended, the whole high school felt kinda gloomy and down, but the second classes let out, the mood flipped completely and everybody lightened up.
“Haah, finally after school〜. Hey Big Brother, I’ve got band practice today so I’m gonna be home late.”
“Ah, um, I’ve got Cooking Club and then Sewing Club too, so I might be kinda late as well! Sorry, Aoto-kun.”
“O-okay.”
Momiji and Yuzuna both had club stuff to do for the culture festival, so it looked like they were gonna get home late.
“Mom already knows about dinner, so make sure you eat everything and don’t leave any, okay!”
“Yeah yeah, I got it. Stop forcing yourself to act all big-sisterly.”
“Forcing? What do you mean forcing? I’m your older sister, so of course I’m gonna say that!”
“I’ll say it as many times as it takes—name one place in the world where a younger sister is the older sister!”
That’s a concept that really shouldn’t exist. Like, in a bunch of different ways.
After that I just watched the two of them leave the classroom and head off to their clubs.
No interruptions from them after school today… honestly kinda convenient.
I glanced over at Kyoko, who was still hanging around in the classroom.
“Um… Big Brother… should we get going?”
“Yeah. Let’s go.”
Right. Today after school I promised Kyoko we’d head to that café in front of the station called Snow Topps and just talk about stuff.
That comment she made this morning about “feeling like I’m the only one who isn’t fulfilled” had been bugging me, and as her brother I figured we should really sit down and talk properly.
Kyoko and I walked out of the school building together and started heading toward the station.
But man, it’d been a while since it was just the two of us, so I couldn’t really think of anything to say right away.
Still, walking side by side in total silence the whole way would be super awkward, so I knew I should probably say something…
“Uh, so. You and Yamada got pretty close lately, right?”
“Huh? Well… I think Yamada-chan and I are getting along okay, I guess.”
Kyoko answered kinda hesitantly, sounding a little distant and unsure of herself.
“I guess”? Like she doesn’t even have confidence that she’s actually doing okay?
Yamada’s got that personality and everything, but she’s actually pretty good at talking to people when she wants to. Meanwhile Kyoko’s always struggled with that kinda thing.
“Truth is… I’ve never really been good at making or keeping friends since way back. Yamada-chan still hangs out with me even though I’m like this, but honestly I keep wondering if I’m actually managing it properly or not.”
“I think you’re doing fine, y’know? Yamada might seem super social from middle school days, but she’s actually pretty picky and only opens up to certain people because of how difficult she can be.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
Since we were in the same club back then I knew—being the daughter of a company president put Yamada in a position where a lot of people kept their distance from her for a while.
It was only because Haruka kept talking to her even when others wouldn’t that Yamada eventually turned into the (annoyingly) cheerful person she is now.
“So relax, Kyoko. I really think you’re doing great with her.”
“Y-yeah…”
Kyoko still looked anxious when she answered.
Looks like building up her confidence is gonna take more work than I thought.
Thinking stuff like that, the two of us kept walking toward Snow Topps.
