A Happy And Luxurious Dinner With Snow White.
“This is incredible…”
When it hit 7 o’clock, a feast was laid out on the table— spiny lobster, abalone, matsutake mushrooms, a luxurious dinner that I wouldn’t normally get to enjoy.
Given that it was a prize from the local shopping district, I didn’t have high expectations for the meal, but it turned out to be even more extravagant than I imagined.
Even Himeno, who usually lives comfortably despite having an unmarried mother, seemed surprised by the ingredients. Her usual home-cooked meals were undoubtedly delicious, but the dishes at the inn, featuring extravagant ingredients like abalone and spiny lobster, must have been a pleasant surprise for her.
For me, growing up in an ordinary household, such a lavish dinner was an entirely new experience.
Just being able to enjoy a dinner like this made the trip worthwhile.
“Yes, indeed.”
Himeno, wearing a somewhat dazed expression, also appeared impressed by the luxurious ingredients.
Her meals at home were likely more homely, so these dishes seemed particularly extravagant and delicious to her.
For someone like me, coming from a very average family background, this kind of sumptuous meal was a first.
Before diving into the meal, I pulled Himeno closer for a kiss.
No matter how many times we kissed, the joy it brought seemed never-ending. However, the desire to eat crept in, given that appetite was one of the three basic human needs.
Yet, Himeno seemed more interested in kissing than eating. She held onto my head firmly, making it challenging to break away.
Of course, I could pull away if I wanted to, but the happiness from kissing surpassed the pleasure of the meal.
“Mmm, chu…”
Himeno, emitting sweet sounds during the kiss, wore a truly blissful expression.
“Shall we eat soon?”
Taking a moment to catch our breath, feeling hungry, I suggested it.
Even though I didn’t breathe during the kiss, the delicious aromas before and after hit my brain, intensifying my desire to eat.
The distinct scent of the sea from the abalone and spiny lobster, along with the rich aroma of matsutake mushrooms, made it impossible for anyone to resist.
“Yes.”
Even the dazed Himeno seemed eager to eat.
Sitting across from each other at the table, we both said, “Itadakimasu,” and began to savor the extravagant dinner.
“This is very delicious…”
Starting with a dip of abalone sashimi into a bit of soy sauce, the crunchy texture and the sea breeze-like aroma spread in my mouth.
I’ve always liked seafood, and even sushi from conveyor belt places on occasions like birthdays was tasty. However, the dishes served at this inn surpassed anything I’d ever tasted, especially the abalone. Although it might not be fair to compare it to conveyor belt sushi since abalone isn’t commonly foun there.
“Yeah, it’s amazing.”
Himeno, who also tried the abalone, seemed to share my opinion.
However, sitting facing each other seemed to encourage her to playfully poke me with her foot.
“The spiny lobster is delicious too.”
The steamed spiny lobster, split in half vertically, filled my mouth with a sweet and rich taste the moment I bit into the firm and tender meat.
I’ve had spiny lobster before, but the taste of the spiny lobster served at the inn was on a completely different level.
Tastes might vary depending on the individual and size, even for the same type of seafood.
“It tastes better than the dishes I make.”
Whether it’s because the inn’s food is more delicious than her own cooking, Himeno pouted discontentedly, saying, “Hmm…”
I never thought she’d be jealous of the inn’s cuisine, but it seems she wants me to enjoy her cooking even more.
It’s natural to want to be the best in everything for someone you love.
“I still prefer your cooking, Himeno.”
While the inn’s dishes are delicious, Himeno’s homemade meals, filled with love, are the most delicious to me.
It’s just my personal preference, and most people would probably say that the inn’s food is better.
After all, it’s a high-end inn, and the professionals in the kitchen should be creating exceptional dishes.
“Thank you very much.”
Blushing with embarrassment after being told that I’m the favorite, Himeno let out a shy, “Ah…”
It must be heartening to hear such words from someone you love.
“Well, I’ll keep making delicious dishes in the future too, okay?”
“Thanks.”
Her gaze from below was incredibly powerful, and to cover up my embarrassment, I ate a tempura of matsutake mushrooms.
Matsutake mushrooms are typically in season during autumn, but it seems you can enjoy them all year round now.
“If we were adults, we’d probably pair this with some sake.”
Considering tonight’s dinner is Japanese cuisine, sake would be the drink of choice for adults.
“Yeah, that sounds nice. I’d like to come here even after we become adults.”
“I want to come too.”
“Yes, let’s make a promise.”
She extended her left hand without holding chopsticks and raised her pinky.
Seems like she wants to make a pinky promise.
“Got it.”
We hooked pinkies, sealing our promise to go on another trip together, and continued enjoying the delicious meal.
