- Chapter 59: Snow White Can't Stop Kissing.
Snow White Can’t Stop Kissing.
“Taka-kun, welcome.”
On a Saturday morning, just past ten, I visited Himeno’s house.
While the mention of being called ‘the child of a mistress’ by Hinata the other day was on his mind, the main reason for coming to her house was simply because he wanted to see her.
Spending time with someone you love is the greatest happiness, and Takashi understood this well from his experiences with his older sister Kana and childhood friend Mariika.
Right now, more than anything, he wanted to be with Himeno, and that desire dominated his thoughts.
“I’ll get some tea for you.”
Confirming me sitting on the living room sofa, Himeno says that as she heads towards the kitchen.
Just watching her back is calming.
(I never would have expected Himeno to be the child of…)
I observe Himeno preparing tea in the kitchen and think to myself.
As someone with an unmarried mother, Himeno is certainly not well-regarded by Hinata.
Perhaps she has been subjected to hurtful remarks in the past, or even bullied by Hinata.
Her heightened sensitivity to bullying might stem from a previous unpleasant experience with Hinata.
However, Hinata had assured that she wouldn’t do anything hurtful now, so there might not be a need to worry that much.
While she did say things that hinted at jealousy and getting close, it’s probably not worth fretting over.
After all, our current relationship is just about comforting each other.
If she gets too close, I can simply reject her outright.
“I apologize for the wait.”
As I was lost in thought, Himeno, who had finished preparing, brought the tea.
It was iced milk tea with ice in a glass, probably bought from the supermarket.
“Delicious.”
Since it’s store-bought, it’s properly flavored from the start, and the aroma of tea and milk spreads when I take a sip.
“I’m glad.”
She smiles happily as she sits next to me.
I really want to try the tea that Himeno brewed with tea bags, but it’s probably not something I should mention. After all, she spent money on it.
“Himeno, do you know a girl named Yukishita Hinata?”
I ask after placing the glass on the table.
I’ve been hesitating for the past few days, but I’ve decided to ask Himeno if she’s really the child Hina mentioned. Because even if she is, I find myself wanting to be with her.
“Why that name?”
Her expression changes from the previous smile to one of despair.
There must have been something in her past.
“Do you remember a girl named Kasugai Miki who worked at the maid cafe? I met her, and she seemed to be friends with Hinata.”
“Yes… that’s right.”
Looking at the downcast Himeno, it’s clear that what Hinata said about her being the child is true.
Maybe she thinks I want to end our relationship because she’s the child of someone else, as if I can’t be with her.
“Himeno, are you a child of…”
Because there’s a slight possibility that Hinata lied, Takashi gently holds Himeno’s hand and asks.
“Y-yes…”
Tears are welling up in her blue eyes, and it looks like she’s on the brink of crying, losing a bit of her light.
It’s just a hunch, but maybe she revealed that she’s the child of someone else in the past and lost a close friend because of it.
That’s probably why she’s so sensitive about it.
“I’m sorry for keeping it a secret. Would you still want to be with someone like me?”
It seems she’s imagining the possibility of not being able to stay together, and tears start welling up in her blue eyes.
There’s a fear that if we can’t be together, she might become a target for bullying again, something Himeno would probably want to avoid.
“It’s okay. Regardless, you’re still Himeno.”
For me, it doesn’t matter if she’s someone’s child. I just want to be with her because that’s what I desire.
“Really, is it okay?”
“Of course.”
To prove that we’ll continue being together, I intertwine my fingers with Himeno’s, like lovers.
“Thank you.”
There’s a bit of light returning to her eyes, but it might not be enough to fully reassure her.
“It seems like she wants to hide the fact that I’m a concubine’s child from her relatives. I’m not allowed to live with my mother either. I can only see her during spring break or summer vacation.”
“I see, that must be tough.”
It’s undoubtedly challenging not being able to live with your family even if you want to. I lost the opportunity to live with my sister after she passed away, and in the past, I used to cry almost every day.
Though I don’t cry as much now, visiting her grave on the anniversary still brings warmth to the corners of my eyes.
“Right now, Taka-kun is the only one for me. When I’m with Taka-kun, I feel safe, and the pain goes away.”
If you can’t rely on your family, you have to rely on someone you can trust. For Himeno, that person seems to be me.
“It’s okay. I’m here with you.”
Being together is reassuring.
“Then… can you show me some proof?”
Himeno’s eyes close slightly.
Perhaps she wants a kiss since her lips are slightly protruding.
“Got it.”
Nodding, I place my hand on Himeno’s shoulder and slowly lean in.
“Mmm…”
We share a kiss, something we haven’t done since the day of our first kiss.
“Mmm… chu…”
I give her a kiss that’s not just light, but rather a bit of a sweet nibble, feeling her soft lips.
Himeno doesn’t reject it at all; in fact, she seems to want more.
Lips are a sensitive area, and perhaps she wants to feel more to be even more reassured.
“I want more,” she says.
Her eyes are fully lit up now, and it seems she wants more.
“Got it.”
We continue kissing until she’s satisfied.
“Mmm…”
