Snow White and I become Even More Of An Idiotic Couple.
“Those two, hasn’t their idiot couple level increased?”
The words reached Takashi’s ears the day after Golden Week, as he entered the classroom with Himeno.
Although they were just holding hands as usual, it seemed that their idiot couple level had increased in the eyes of their classmates.
“Well, I guess he became an adult during Golden Week…”
One boy seemed to be in despair as if the end of the world had come.
He seemed to equate becoming an adult with having had a first experience.
In reality, they weren’t officially dating, so it wasn’t like they had done anything, but there was no denying that they had become closer during Golden Week.
So it seemed that their idiot couple level had increased.
Upon hearing those words, several boys also began to feel despair.
Unable to tolerate such idle talk, Takashi placed his bag at his seat before sitting at Himeno’s desk.
“Taka-kun?”
I saw Himeno tilt her head, likely wondering why I was sitting at her desk.
We usually chatted in class with Himeno in her seat and me crouching next to her, so she must have found the current situation a bit odd.
“If I don’t touch you, I’ll feel lonely.” I explained.
Seemingly understanding my thoughts from the light taps on my own thigh, Himeno’s cheeks turned bright red.
Even though just holding hands and talking made me happy, more physical contact made it even better.
So, I wanted Himeno to sit on my lap.
“Excuse me, then…”
Her ears turned bright red, visible through the gaps in her hair as Himeno sat on my lap.
(Wh-why are we facing each other?)
Normally, we’d sit back-to-back, but for some reason, Himeno chose to sit facing me.
Even though her legs were slightly open, she was careful to keep her skirt in place, so nothing was visible.
However, sitting face to face on a single chair meant there was a lot of physical contact.
And, unlike usual, our eye levels were now the same.
“I can’t comfort you using my chest in public, so I’ll comfort you like this. If we were alone, I wouldn’t mind using my chest, but we don’t have time until homeroom.”
In a voice soft enough that no one else could hear, Himeno whispered in my ear.
Maybe she thought I was feeling down about Marika.
Certainly, Marika continued to act like an older sister, getting close and sticking to me, but the pain had diminished quite a bit.
Now, I was head over heels for Himeno.
“Taka-kun.”
With a gentle tap, Himeno pressed her forehead against mine. Even up close, she was truly beautiful, and I found myself captivated.
It was embarrassing to be so close, but I was starting to forget even that.
However, I could feel my body heating up, and looking at my reflection in her blue eyes, I could see that my cheeks were red.
“Ugh… Being able to flirt so much in the classroom, they truly are an idiot couple. I wish I had a girlfriend too.”
“I get it. I’m starting to want a boyfriend too.”
Our classmates chatted as they watched me and Himeno being affectionate.
“Is that so? Can I volunteer?”
“Someone who gives me such a pervy look like you? No way.”
The boy who volunteered was promptly rejected.
“But seriously, watching those two feels like they’re a foolish couple living together. Maybe they actually do live together?”
Whether she caught wind of the words “foolish couple living together” or not, Himeno let out a shy “Ahh…”
“That reaction… Are those two really living together?”
In reality, we weren’t officially dating, so we weren’t living together, but I did entertain the idea of living together someday.
It’s a natural desire to want to live with someone you love.
“Taka-kun, do you… want to live together with me?”
Her sighs and her voice felt sweet and tender.
“Living together is, um, complicated.”
Certainly, it might be logical to live together since we could comfort each other anytime, but I knew that with Himeno, my body wouldn’t hold up against both reason and shame.
That’s why I had to refuse.
Of course, deep down, I wanted to live together.
“Is that so…”
Her voice and expression seemed sad, as expected; being alone can sometimes make one feel lonely.
Living together would indeed fill the void of loneliness anytime, but it wasn’t something to do when we weren’t even officially dating.
However, if we could be together, I’d want that.
“Yeah, it’s a bit enviable that Shikibe-san can casually enter and exit your house, Taka-kun.”
“Hmm?”
“N-nothing. Uh, can I… visit your house again?”
“Well, of course.”
I felt like I might have been dodging the question, but if someone you like wants to come over, there’s no reason to refuse.
Besides, it was only about a ten-minute walk, so if she wanted to come, she could easily do so.
“It’s a promise, okay?”
“Got it.”
Just as we made our promise while our foreheads were pressed together, the bell rang.
