Snow White and Birthday Date – Amusement Park Edition
“An amusement park, it’s been a while.”
After a relaxing time at the café, we bought night passes and entered the amusement park.
This was a typical amusement park destination, and we came here at Himeno’s strong request.
The sun had already set, so families with children were beginning to leave, and conversely, the crowd of couples was increasing.
Perhaps because it had been a while since she last visited, or maybe it was the excitement of the amusement park, Himeno’s energy seemed a bit higher than usual.
“We don’t have much time, so let’s get on to something quickly.”
“Got it.”
Led by Himeno, we decided to enjoy the amusement park at night.
“Starting with a roller coaster?”
The place we arrived at, hand in hand, was a roller coaster.
In the evening, it seemed most visitors were heading to watch the parade, so it wasn’t too crowded right now.
“Yes. I haven’t been here since I was a child, so I couldn’t ride it before.”
Roller coasters often have height restrictions, making them inaccessible for children. This coaster had a height restriction of 120 cm, so it seemed Himeno couldn’t ride it the last time she was here.
Perhaps due to her exceptional beauty, Himeno was often avoided by her female peers. She mentioned not having friends to come to the amusement park with before. While she might receive invitations from males, she claimed to have no dating experience and likely declined even if she was asked.
In other words, for Himeno, this was the first time coming to an amusement park alone with a member of the opposite sex, and that someone was Takashi.
It made him genuinely happy, and he found himself wishing she wouldn’t come with anyone else in the future. Wanting to monopolize the person you love is a natural feeling.
After a short wait, it was their turn. Takashi and Himeno boarded the roller coaster, ensuring the safety bar was securely closed.
“Um… it’s my first time, and I’m nervous, so is it okay if we hold hands?”
“Of course.”
Holding Himeno’s hand tightly to ensure she wouldn’t let go, Takashi recalled a similar experience when he rode a roller coaster with his sister Kana.
Though they barely exceeded the height limit at that time, it was a bit scary, so he held hands.
Everyone is a bit scared when riding a roller coaster for the first time. However, if you firmly hold their hand, it should alleviate some of the fear.
After a while, the roller coaster started moving.
Looking at Himeno, who was clearly nervous, Takashi reassured her and squeezed her hand even tighter.
Even though she said she wanted to ride it herself, high places might still be a bit intimidating for her, especially since it was her first time.
“Waaah, hahaha!”
As they entered the descending part and gained speed, Himeno burst into laughter.
It wasn’t laughter out of fear; it was the joy of having fun.
The initial nervousness had turned into excitement, and now she was genuinely enjoying the ride.
“Wow, it’s beautiful.”
After riding the roller coaster three times in a row, we decided to take a ride on the Ferris wheel.
The view from the high point at night was breathtaking, and Himeno’s eyes sparkled as she gazed outside.
Even though I wanted to say that Himeno was more beautiful, I couldn’t express it due to embarrassment. Perhaps she wished to hear those words.
“Taka-kun.”
About five minutes into our thirty-minute Ferris wheel ride, Himeno, sitting next to me, reached out and held my hand.
Her warmth was incredibly comforting.
“Thank you for today. I had a lot of fun.”
“I had fun too.”
While I don’t usually celebrate people’s birthdays, today was genuinely enjoyable. I found myself wanting to celebrate her birthday again next year and, if possible, continue being together.
“I felt it even more today. For me… Taka-kun is the most important person.”
Hearing these words from a blushing Himeno resonated deeply with me. Being told that you are the most important person by someone you love is a profoundly heartwarming experience.
“So… let’s stay together more. At least until our wounds are completely healed.”
Wounds… even though the bullying had stopped, Himeno’s wounds might not have fully healed. If her wounds were completely healed, there wouldn’t be a reason for us to stick together this closely outside of school.
But even if her wounds were fully healed, I wanted to stay with her. I wanted her to want to be with me and like me enough to be in a relationship.
“Of course, I want to be with you.”
“Huh…”
Despite the lingering embarrassment, I pulled Himeno closer and embraced her tightly. Himeno’s delicate frame might seem like it could break under such a strong embrace, but in reality, it held firm.
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to you, Taka-kun, the most important person to me.”
“Gratitude?”
“Yes… chu.”
“Huh?”
While I had kissed her cheek before, being kissed on the cheek by Himeno was a first for me.
The depth of her gratitude was evident in Himeno’s bashful expression as she averted her gaze. Even so, the fact that she had done it indicated genuine appreciation.
“I’ve only been kissed on the cheek by you before, so this is my way of saying thank you.”
Feeling overwhelmed with affection for her, I realized anew that I was truly in love with Himeno.
“I want to make you happy in the future, no matter what.”
