Snow White and Birthday Date – Drinking Couple-Exclusive Drinks.
“I apologize for the wait. Here are your couple-exclusive drinks.”
After enjoying some window shopping following the ring purchase, we took a break at a café. A seemingly college-aged waitress brings our ordered drinks.
“While it may not be piping hot like you guys, it’s a sweet treat for you both.”
She leaves us to enjoy our drinks.
We entered the café holding hands, and I ordered the recommended drinks that the waitress suggested, probably because she noticed our matching rings.
In a large glass, there’s melon soda with a straw that splits into two at the top, and inexplicably, there’s a cherry on it.
It’s meant for two people to share with one straw.
This café is well-known among young couples and offers couple-exclusive drinks. Miki, a friend with many connections, recommended it to us, and now I understand why.
Perhaps she wants me to grow fonder of Himeno and persuade me to let go as. Even though she rejected my confession, Marika will still be my sister, and Miki probably wants her to grow up and separate from her brother sooner rather than later.
Ideally, Marika should be the one to distance herself from her brother.
However, there’s another reason why we chose this café.
Although the waitress recommended the couple-exclusive drinks, I had already planned to order them. I didn’t know it was Himeno’s birthday today, but I had intended to come here when we decided to hang out at the station.
By drinking these couple-exclusive drinks, I wanted to make her more aware and, hopefully, make her happy if she realizes my feelings for her.
“Um, should we… drink them?”
“Yeah…”
I nod at Himeno, whose cheeks are turning red, but having the couple-exclusive drinks in front of us makes me feel a bit embarrassed.
Drinking from a single glass is something I’ve never done before.
But we can’t just not drink it, so we both put our mouths on the straw and take sips.
It’s not an actual indirect kiss, but it feels like we’re having one.
Himeno seems to feel the same way; her face turns crimson, visible even through the gaps in her hair, all the way to her ears.
“It’s delicious, isn’t it?”
“Yeah…”
I nod, but it’s so embarrassing that I can’t really taste the drink.
Drinking the same drink with someone you love through a single straw makes you feel this embarrassed? While thinking about this, I sip on the melon soda with a “chu chu.”
(I want to stay like this forever.)
Sipping on the melon soda, I contemplate this while glancing at Himeno, who is also drinking with a bashful expression.
It truly is a moment of happiness, and even though I know it’s impossible to be together like this forever, I want to savor this happiness for as long as possible.
If Himeno feels the same way, that would be wonderful, but she probably doesn’t want to keep drinking like this forever.
“Um, it’s a bit embarrassing if people stare too much.”
Whether she noticed we were drawing attention or not, Himeno shyly removes her mouth from the straw.
The slight reddish tint on the straw is probably from her lipstick.
Even without makeup, Himeno is incredibly cute, but with light makeup, she is more beautiful and adorable than anyone else in the world.
I’m actually here with her as a couple, but Himeno noticed me, and she’s even playfully pinching my cheeks.
“S-sorry.”
Unable to say that I was just captivated by her cuteness, I can only apologize.
“No, I don’t mind being seen by you, Takashi-kun. It’s just embarrassing…”
Staring is indeed not ideal, but I can’t help but look at Himeno, the person I love.
A little while ago, I wouldn’t have been able to look at her properly due to embarrassment, but now, I’m so captivated that I can’t take my eyes off her.
After blushing and feeling embarrassed from being looked at too much, Himeno, once again, puts her mouth on the straw and starts sipping the melon soda.
“I’m sorry. Here.”
I can’t stop looking at her, but to make her feel a bit more at ease, I extend my hand in front of Himeno.
She mentioned before that she trusts me the most, and holding hands might alleviate some of the embarrassment.
“Yes.”
With a shy smile, she takes my hand.
Her smile is even cuter than that of an anime heroine. At this point, there’s no one in any dimension cuter than Himeno.
We drink our drinks together, holding hands.
