Lunch break With Snow White Is Spent Being Affectionate.
“I’m sorry. We’re drawing too much attention.”
During lunch break, unable to avoid standing out when we’re together in the classroom, Himeno and I find ourselves in front of the door leading to the rooftop, where we can be alone.
Himeno, looking sad even though we’re about to have lunch, seems genuinely sorry for causing a scene.
But because the whole point was to do something attention-grabbing, the fact that we stood out could be considered a success.
However, it seemed like we might not be able to enjoy a leisurely lunch because of the excessive attention, so we decided to come to a place where we could be alone during lunch break.
“It’s okay. Let’s eat lunch.”
“Yes.”
Taking a peach-colored handkerchief from her skirt pocket, Himeno spreads it out before sitting down.
I, thinking she looks very girly, sit next to Himeno and watch as she takes out a lunchbox from her bag.
Whether it’s due to the mixture of Russian blood or not, her eyelashes, as well as her hair, are white, and her skin is translucent and beautiful.
Although her appearance is full of exotic charm, she has a slightly childish face, almost as if she jumped out of a two-dimensional world.
“What’s wrong?”
Having unwrapped the lunchbox, Himeno tilts her head with a slightly reddened cheek, looking curious.
“Oh, it’s nothing.”
Unable to say I was just mesmerized by her beauty, I blush and turn away.
“Is that so? Well, let’s eat.”
“Sure… wha…?”
As Himeno opens the lunchbox, for some reason, she leans her head on my shoulder.
It’s as if she’s being affectionate with her boyfriend, and it’s not good for my heart.
Moreover, for some reason, I’m conscious of Himeno right now, so my heart is pounding intensely for a different reason than nervousness or embarrassment.
“Um, there’s a possibility someone might come…”
Even though there are not many around here, there’s no guarantee that no one will come.
While it wouldn’t be strange to act lovey-dovey in the classroom, it might seem odd not to be affectionate when we’re alone.
“Isn’t it hard to eat while being so close?”
“I’ll feed you while saying ‘ah,’ so Taka-kun, please hold onto my shoulder.”
Eating while being affectionate seems embarrassing for Himeno, and despite saying it herself, her cheeks turn red.
Of course, I am embarrassed too, and my body is getting extremely hot, almost like after exercising.
“W-Okay.”
There’s no guarantee that no one will come, and despite feeling embarrassed, I put my hand on Himeno’s shoulder and pull her towards me.
Despite her delicate frame, the soft sensation and the sweet scent unique to women directly stimulate my brain, and even though it’s time for lunch, my rationality is being shaved away.
My heart is pounding intensely, and Himeno must be able to feel it too.
Her intense heartbeat is transmitted to me as well.
“Um, say ‘ah.'”
Using chopsticks, Himeno picks up a piece of tamagoyaki and brings it to my mouth.
Since it’s tamagoyaki used in a bento, it’s properly cooked, but it seems to have an incredibly fluffy texture.
“Ah…”
Eating while being so intimately close is embarrassing, but I restrain myself and eat the tamagoyaki.
It’s wonderfully fluffy and delicious, and even though my face is burning with embarrassment, I have to admit it.
“Um, it’s delicious.”
Despite feeling too embarrassed to look directly at Himeno’s face, I manage to convey my thoughts properly.
After all, she made an effort to prepare this, and giving feedback is only fair.
“Thank you very much.”
Himeno gave a cheerful smile, genuinely delighted.
If someone praises the dish they’ve cooked, it’s only natural to feel happy.
However, I sensed embarrassment in her voice.
After all, being so close and doing the ‘ah’ thing for the first time might be embarrassing, and it wouldn’t be surprising.
“Next up is this. Say ‘ah.'”
It’s the octopus-shaped sausage we had for breakfast this morning.
Just like in the morning, it’s really delicious, and perhaps the flavor has been intensified, maybe even adjusted to suit a male’s taste.
She might have gathered information on the internet or elsewhere, even though she claimed to have no dating experience.
Takashi, being an adolescent boy, likes strongly flavored food, and Marika might have adjusted the taste for him, considering nutritional aspects.
While feeling like she’s trying to capture the heart through the stomach, I also think, “It’s different, isn’t it?”
It’s just a coexistence relationship where we comfort each other, and there’s probably no romantic feeling from Himeno’s side.
She’s just making me food as a thank-you for comforting her.
“Ah.”
Once again, as I am fed with the ‘ah,’ I feel happy to be affectionate with Himeno, but at the same time, there’s a slight ache in the depths of my chest due to the realization that we’re just in a coexistence relationship.
