The news of an assailant targeting the well-known celebrity Harada Emiko spread across the nation like wildfire.

Upon investigation, it turned out that the assailant was a psycho-killer who had become Emiko’s fan recently. And after watching her picture on social media with someone guy he lost his cool and began stalking Emiko with the intention to bring her down.

Fortunately, the person under the threat was not injured in the collision, however, someone close to Emiko was shot thrice while protecting Emiko.

The news channels were flooding to find the identity of the savior who saved the internationally known model. However, for the past two days, no one from Emiko’s family has come up to give an answer nor Emiko has declared herself fully uninjured as well.

The whereabouts of the said celebrity remain a mystery.

[Kyoto City Hospital]

The entire third floor of the hospital remained vacant with only a dozen black suits-wearing men lined up on either side of the lobby. However, the lack of movement from them gave an impression that the whole floor was abandoned.

However, inside one of the rooms was a single patient who was currently surrounded by many people.

The familiar face of Rena and her husband could be seen, currently, sitting on the left side of the bed. Rena’s eyes were stained with the marks of tears that she shed silently in the hospital room.

They arrived in the morning after receiving a call from Emiko’s father.

On the other side of the bed stood the man who called them, currently wearing a troubled expression.

“Harada-san…how is Emiko-chan now?” It was Masato who asked the man.

Emiko fell unconscious today in the morning after Rena arrived. She hasn’t slept a wink for two days and hasn’t eaten anything as well. It was natural for her to faint all of a sudden.

“She is getting treated in the room next to this. She will recover by tonight, hopefully.” Ryouske informed the man while trying to hide his surprise.

For someone who has nearly lost his family member because of Emiko…Ryouske believed that both Rena and Masato might show indignation or worse, report to the police about the situation.

However, the way they seem not only concerned for Haruki but Emiko as well, showed how they have accepted her as their family.

‘…I am ashamed of you Miyako…’ Glancing at his wife who was standing near the door, Ryouske couldn’t help muttering inwardly.

Ever since all this happened, Miyako has yet to say a single word. It almost seemed like she had lost all her senses.

Being her husband, Ryouske naturally felt concerned about her.

After examining her the doctor said that she was in a state of shock and needed to expose her emotions. However, Ryouske wasn’t in his right mind to talk to his wife at the moment, as such, he decided to let her be alone for some time.

“H-Harada-san…what the doctor said…” Hearing Rena’s query, Ryouske heaved a sigh.

Although it was difficult for him to say, he couldn’t lie to them,

“Although the operation was successful and all the bullets were removed…the doctors said that Haruki has fallen into a coma for an uncertain period. Although he didn’t catch any infection and the blood loss was also within the scope of recovery…the severe damage of organs and nerves might need some time to recover.”

Looking at Haruki, he continued, “Although he is out of danger now…it is not certain when he will wake up.”

While the outside world was going at its own pace, Haruki within his unconscious state, roamed across the memories of someone who looked like him…but wasn’t him.

Haruki had concluded that the person he was looking at, indeed was himself, and the other party was Harada Emiko, however, this was something like a different timeline.

In this timeline, Emiko didn’t achieve everything from a young age and had to go through a lot of struggles to get contracted for the first time.

Haruki, working as a delivery boy visited her regularly and spent time with Emiko.

Now the one who was looking at all this from a third-person perspective could only witness those moments when Emiko and Haruki were together. As such, he could see how the two young couples were slowly developing feelings for each other.

‘Unlike what I am used to Emiko-san in this world is quite a teasing type…and kinda dense as well.’ Haruki couldn’t help chuckling as he saw his other self using different means to impress Emiko on several occasions however, Emiko was not cooperating at all.

Currently, the two were having lunch together as Haruki was telling Emiko to not lose hope and keep looking forward.

‘It’s a wonder that even Emiko-san can lose motivation…’ The ghost-Haruki couldn’t help admiring his other self who was actively cheering up Emiko.

“You don’t understand Haruki…things don’t work in that way. Even if I give my two hundred percent, those with connection will always surpass me.”

Emiko spoke with a gloomy atmosphere surrounding her.

“Don’t say something like that, Emi. If you are good at your work and giving your best, someone will surely see your talent and give you an opportunity.” Haruki reproached her as he extended the spoon and fed her with the porridge he prepared.

‘Haah…it’s refreshing to see that it isn’t me who needs to get pampered in this timeline…’ The one who was hanging around the two without getting noticed sighed in satisfaction.

The ghost Haruki has already realized that even in this world, Haruki and Emiko are destined to become one.

….however, soon he realized, how wrong he was,

“Haruki-kun…I have started dating Kento Rei.”
