When the person I used to admire, turned out to be a Yandere! - Chapter 65- Barter
During elementary school and middle high, there was a person who was really fond of Haruki. And it was the same for him. Not even a single day went by when Haruki didn’t see his dear friend Yuna-chan.
Kasuragi Yuna—Haruki’s childhood friend.
Even Yuna’s parents have met Haruki on various occasions and they often said that once Yuna grows up, she would get wedded to Haruki.
Naturally, Haruki neither nor Yuna thought much of it since they were merely children, a little above ten years of age.
Haruki had great memories with Yuna—however, after separation, he met her only once; during his high school graduation.
Apart from that, nothing was going on between them.
However, even though Haruki didn’t have anything for Yuna it wasn’t like Emiko would not react to her presence as well.
Last time, when his sister mentioned how well Yuna and Haruki got along, Emiko was beyond agitated. She even broke her phone.
And now…that person was herself present here.
“Haru-kun…why did it seem that Yuna didn’t know you?”
Haruki was surprised to see that Emiko was still almost composed as she asked in a solemn tone.
Although she tried, Haruki knew that she was upset upon realizing the identity of the girl.
“Umm…I am not quite sure. Maybe, it’s because she didn’t recognize me?”
“Impossible, Haru-kun. For the first two seconds, she was as startled and shocked as you…however, something happened and she began pretending that you were nothing but a stranger to her.”
Emiko overlapped her right leg over the other as she concluded.
Haruki was taken aback by her keen observation before he suggested,
“Maybe…she acted that way since she was on duty?” Although not very strong, it was a possibility that Yuna was trying to not get familiar with the people, associating with her employer.
Or was it that, she was too embarrassed to confront him?
‘Nah…the Yuna-chan I know, would never get ashamed of her work…’ Haruki concluded but didn’t voice out; aware of how it would sound to Emiko.
Emiko remained silent for a minute before she got up and told Haruki with a soft smile, “How about you freshen up? I have something to discuss with Dad.”
Haruki nodded, albeit hesitantly. He had a feeling that Emiko wasn’t going to talk to her father at the moment, but he didn’t pry into the matter.
“Alright.”

Once Haruki went inside the washroom, Emiko walked out of the room and headed toward the ground floor.
The cold demeanor she wore around her, made every servant flinch on the path. They didn’t dare to ask if Emiko needed something, that much they were frightened of her short temper.
Emiko climbed down the stairs and only halted upon reaching the library—where the elder Harada was seated.
“Why?”
Miyako rested the book on the table before looking at her daughter in puzzlement, “Why? What do you mean, ‘why’?”
Emiko gritted her teeth before responding, “We both know that appointing that girl as a maid was your choice.”
Miyako frowned before retaliating, “Which girl? What are you even talking about? All the maids and butlers in the mansion have been appointed by your father and the people from the company. ”
Hearing Miyako’s statement, Emiko was slightly taken aback.
It was true that all the servants working in the mansion were formally recruited after background check-ups and through a formulated procedure. It was highly unlikely for her mother to be involved in this.
‘Is it really just a coincidence?’ Emiko couldn’t help asking herself.
Miyako suddenly stood up from her seat and told Emiko, “I know you no longer need your mother and that you dislike me from the bottom of your heart. But Emiko…I have given birth to you and taken care of you for eighteen years. Can’t you trust me even a bit?”
Seeing the slight moisture building in her eyes, Emiko was surprised. Although, her anger at her mother didn’t recede, Emiko didn’t have the motivation to continue this conversation.
“Just please don’t do anything to create friction between me and Haru-kun now.” Saying so, Emiko turned on her heel and walked out of the study.
Miyako stared at her daughter’s back with a sad look…however, that expression soon disappeared as the lady put down her glasses and walked out of the library as well.
Once she saw Emiko heading toward the first floor, the lady went toward the dining room.
The maids were preparing the table for dinner.
Miyako spotted the certain pink-haired girl amongst the group before she called out for her.
Yuna was surprised to be called by the lady of the house, however, ignoring her call was the last thing Yuna could dare partake in.
“Madame?” Once standing in front of the imposing individual, Yuna timidly asked.
Miyako scrutinized the girl once again before asking, ” You do remember that your job here is merely on a temporary basis right?”
Yuna’s face paled as she heard those words, which indicated how her job might be at risk.
‘D-Did Haru say something…’ Although she tried to act indifferent to Haruki for the sake of his relationship with Emiko—it seems, the young lady was still bothered by the fact that her lover’s childhood friend was working in the mansion.
“I heard you have to pay for your father’s medical bills and your younger brother also is in high school. Being the only earning member of the family, it would become really difficult for you to lose such a high-paying job like this one, no?”
Tears welled in her big eyes as Yuna kept her head hanging low. True to what she said, Yuna was the only earning member of her family. And being so less educated and least trained for being a maid, it was a miracle for her to get this job.
But now…
“*Sniff* *Sniff*” Yuna quietly sobbed while holding the hem of her skirt tightly.
Miyako smirked at that before she brought her index finger under Yuna’s chin and lifted her face.
Yuna obediently followed the unspoken command, before she got surprised upon having her tears wiped by the lady.
“Do you want to get permanent in this job along with some donation for your father’s treatment?”
Yuna didn’t think twice before nodding. Although she didn’t like taking favors, given the astronomical amount of funds needed to save her father, she was prepared to do anything in return for the favor.
Miyako smiled at the enthusiasm before she leaned forward and whispered in a low tone,
“Then…in return, will you sleep with your childhood friend?”
