- Chapter 58- Childish?
Early in the morning, Naomi didn’t want to disturb her employer and friend, Emiko—however, things have elevated so much in these past twenty-four hours, that she had to arrive at Emiko’s house early in the morning at eight.
Sitting inside the living area were three people: Naomi, Haruki, and of course, the little troublemaker, Emiko who wore a toothy grin, like she had done something to be proud of.
“Emiko-san…you do know the difference between receiving news from an unknown source and an official account right?” Even Haruki seemed a little tired at this point upon seeing how nonchalant Emiko was about this matter.
“I am aware, but why do you ask, Haru-kun?”
Naomi raised her brows in utter bewilderment as she wondered whether Emiko was playing dumb on purpose. However, she didn’t dwell on it for long and explained the reason for her concern.
“The picture of yours which was uploaded yesterday was from an unknown source so we could have suppressed the news in the name of false rumors. However, after you uploaded a picture of yourself and Haruki-kun in the morning on your official social media account, with that cheesy caption, there is no way for the Company to handle it anymore.”
Although the picture Emiko uploaded only exposed only the upper half of his face, the caption she wrote, explicitly told the relationship of hers with him.
“It wasn’t cheesy!” Emiko grumbled.
Naomi made an expression that said, ‘Really?’ before she pulled her phone and read the caption Emiko posted along with the picture,
“[Nothing feels better than waking up in your arms, my love~]…tell me who writes captions like this, these days?”
Naomi was barely holding herself from sighing upon seeing the two in front, blushing at the comment, exchanging glances, and again getting embarrassed for no good reason.
‘Seriously…does love make people this stupid?’ Naomi somehow brushed away her frustration before she asked,
“Do you know Emi, if you had posted this picture some days later it wouldn’t have been this much problematic? However, now, it seems you are justifying yourself toward the media.”
It wasn’t like Emiko didn’t know this…rather at the time when she posted it, she wasn’t thinking about anything other than letting the world know, to whom she belongs.
“Doesn’t matter. I don’t care what people think about it…” Even if she said that Naomi knew that Emiko was highly influenced by the media, which was putting up pictures of her and Kouske.
Naomi caught the apologetic gaze Haruki held toward her, which expressed how he was sorry for the inconvenience. Naomi directed an assuring look toward him despite her inner turmoil.
“Then…what about Miyako-san? How are you going to handle her wrath?” Hearing that name from Naomi, a cold glint passed across Emiko’s eyes.
For some reason, Emiko had a feeling that the little girl Ririka wasn’t the only one behind this blunder. And also, Emiko never received any call from her mother even though such a big news broke yesterday; further elevating her suspicion.
“I will deal with her. Just keep things away from Haru-kun.” Emiko’s condensed voice was in contrast to her previously playful demeanor as she commanded Naomi.
Nodding, Naomi got up to take her leave. She has a lot of work to handle today.

Once Naomi left, Haruki went to change his clothes after taking a quick shower.
He didn’t have any classes today so he planned on visiting his Nee-san today and also informed Hayato that everything was fine.
Last night, he was so out of his mind that he didn’t bother to reply to any of their texts or calls. Thankfully, Hayato explained to Rena and Masato that everything was fine and Haruki would call them today.
Having a friend who understands you well, is really a blessing.
After changing Haruki made his way toward dining as he saw Emiko placing breakfast on the table.
“Emiko-san…have you received any call from Miyako-san?” Even though he didn’t ask her immediately it wasn’t like Haruki wasn’t anxious about the reaction from her mother’s side.
Emiko’s demeanor didn’t shift as she responded in her natural tone, “She has called me, but I will answer her when I feel like it.”
Haruki didn’t have any idea that Emiko’s mother could bribe a child and use her as a pawn to force her daughter into a marriage. From his perspective, Miyako must be really upset upon seeing her daughter being seen on the media with Haruki.
Haruki wasn’t a fool, but just a simple-minded person.
“Haru-kun, I was thinking of visiting Kyoto one of these days. What’s say?”
Haruki raised his brows as he asked, “To meet your parents?”
Seeing her nod, Haruki asked again, this time uncertainty lacing his voice, “But…isn’t this the worst time to meet them? I mean, I have already left a bad impression on Miyako-san and now…in these circumstances, I might get rejected by your father too.”
Emiko wanted to tell Haruki, how no one’s approval was required in their relationship. However, considering the type of person Haruki is, it was given that he would seek blessings from both sides, as a good fortune for their relationship.
Such a precious soul he is—Emiko sighed.
“Don’t worry, Haru-kun. Dad will like you. He has a very friendly nature and is entirely different than my mom when it comes to judging people.”
‘That’s not how you should talk about your mom, Emiko-san…’ Haruki wanted to say but he held back—knowing how agitated Emiko was toward her mother, for some reason since morning.
He thought that Emiko might have talked with her mother; which she hid from Haruki.
Regardless, they didn’t talk about the media or her parents any longer and enjoyed the comfortable breakfast in a serene atmosphere, with the addition of some casual chats about the places they could visit in Kyoto.
The breakfast Emiko made was simply appetizing and fulfilling. Although he didn’t know the name of the dish, the inclusion of egg with shrimp and black pepper just balanced out everything and provided a mind-boggling sensation whenever Haruki rested a spoonful in his mouth.
Once they finished eating, Haruki helped her clean up as they stood side by side, with Haruki washing the dishes and Emiko wiping them.
It was then, when suddenly Emiko remembered something and asked in a hesitant voice,
“Haru-kun…can you…tell me more about those dreams you talked about last night?”
