- Chapter 56- I am yours
Haruki has been troubled these past few days. A lot.
His dreams have been disturbing him lately. It felt like it was connected—felt so real that he sometimes began hallucinating, believing what was not true to be his reality, and his mind always contemplating those dreams even when he was awake.
It was complicated…frustrating, to say the least. He was confused, upset, and extremely terrified.
The fact that all those flashes were in his head, which Haruki sees during his sleep, makes things complicated enough to restrict him from disclosing it to others. And especially not to the person around whom his dreams are revolving.
Harada Emiko—a name that has been involved in his life for nearly a month, and now, Haruki could no longer spend a day without her.
‘Emiko…when you reach the height you always have dreamt of…will you still hang out with me?’ Haruki, in one of his dreams, asked the girl currently resting her head on his lap while reading a magazine.
‘Depends on whether you look presentable enough.’ Hearing her response made Haruki a little saddened, but he didn’t show her that.
And the next day, when Haruki woke up after seeing that dream, he was all over the place improving his looks, getting his hair cut, and paying extra mind to what he was wearing.
The version of Emiko he was seeing in his dream and the one he was familiar with were two different personalities…yet, Haruki couldn’t let go of this feeling that Emiko indeed was extremely ambitious and always wanted to be under the spotlight.
He didn’t know why it felt so real and so heart-wrenching that despite being close to her in those dreams, he still wasn’t close to her. It felt, for him, she was the only one, but for her, he was one among many.
That sensation stung his chest and made him feel depressed…
That was why when Haruki woke up and saw the real Emiko being so kind and attentive toward him…he just couldn’t keep his eyes away from her. It felt unreal. Felt like something akin to the impossible had occurred, that Emiko loves him.
However, recently in those dreams, Haruki didn’t see Emiko. He looked at her pictures, on TV, and talked about her when alone…but recently, she doesn’t appear in his dreams at all.
…it felt like she left his side. Felt like she abandoned him.
Haruki knew those were just dreams, but still, the feeling was so heartbreaking that he began to remain disturbed a little these days. He tried to be by Emiko’s side as much as he could. To get rid of these upsetting thoughts and get over those damn dreams once and for all.
However, amidst the struggle, suddenly this strange news began surfacing across the media, that Emiko was dating someone. And that someone wasn’t him.
…and that was where his connection with dreams and reality turned stronger. It felt that the flashes he was seeing where Emiko abandoned began to turn reality.
And Haruki didn’t want that.
Which led him to her—on the bed where he pressed the same girl he had been obsessed with. His left hand held her wrist while his lips hungrily kissed her.
“Ah…” Emiko let out a soft gasp as Haruki’s lips traveled down her chin as he kissed the base of her neck, intensely. Without looking, she could tell that he left a mark there, but that didn’t concern her.
Even if he left a mark all over her, she would not protest. She just wanted to calm him down in any possible way.
Haruki’s lips traveled toward her collarbone, which was already exposed because of her loose-fitting shirt.
Emiko tightly closed her eyes as his lips were nearing her bosom. She expected him to go all the way today, and she was ready for it. Even though it was abrupt and not under what circumstances she could have ever hoped, but still, she wouldn’t deny her Haru-kun.
However, all she felt over her breasts was a little weight before she crooked her neck and saw Haruki resting his head on her, and his previous vigor was nowhere to be seen.
“Why…aren’t you pushing me away…?” His slow muttering reached her ear loud and clear, surprising Emiko.
“Why would I push you away?” If Emiko really wanted to push Haruki away then—no, she would never push him away, regardless of the situation.
“I am clearly doing something that is inches away from r*pe.” Hearing Haruki’s self-deprecating words, Emiko instantly straightened her back with her eyes widened.
Haruki also sat on his knees with his eyes drawn to the bed. No particular expression adorning his face.
Emiko cupped his cheeks before making the boy look at her as she spoke, “I seriously am going to be mad if you say something like that, Haru-kun.”
Her voice was stern, but the way her tone was wavering, signified how she was barely holding herself from sobbing.
“Haru-kun…please look at me. I beg you.”
Reluctant as he might seem, Haruki lifted his gaze and locked it on her moistened ones as he heard her saying,
“I know you are upset, Haru-kun. I know I did something that must have hurt you. But please…don’t keep it within you. Tell me everything you are feeling…tell me Haru-kun. Even if you hurt me, scold me I will accept it all…but…please…don’t be like this….don’t hurt yourself.”
He has never seen her cry like this—not in dreams or reality.
His heart wrenched, his throat felt dry, and a heavy lump blocked any voice from leaking through his throat.
Lack of options, Haruki did nothing but just to embrace her.
He didn’t know whether he himself was crying or it was just Emiko sobbing in that room; however, if something was true in that silence was the fact that Emiko was right here with him.
…and this time…he won’t be letting her go.

A/N: It took me two days to write and edit this chapter. I went back and forth thrice to change the conclusion of the chapter. The distorted reality and dream thingy would be sorted out soon.
