- Chapter 52- No problem?
From Emiko’s perspective, watching Haruki seemed the most interesting hobby for her. She hadn’t finished her work, but when there was such a charming distraction so close to her, she couldn’t be blamed, right?
The sweet and shy Haruki always is a treat for the eyes. However, the serious and talkative Haruki was nothing short of attractive either.
The way he frowns while thinking, or silences others to put up his point, is just plainly admirable. His eyelashes fluttered every time he found something absurd and the way he pinched the bridge of his nose upon getting annoyed was too sexy to keep her eyes away.
She wanted to snap some exclusive serious type Haruki pictures to add to her collection and get those pictures framed…but the angle from where she was sitting, any of her odd movements would get caught by him.
Emiko didn’t know when she got this habit of taking pictures of her lover, but the feeling of surrounding herself with Haruki made her feel complete.
A whole room filled with Haruki’s pictures. Wearing his used clothes while embracing the person she so much adores…yes, that was something she would do one day.
“Yes…as it seems this must be the best way to approach things.” After half an hour of discussion, it seemed they decided on the topic which they would be arguing with.
Emiko has participated in numerous debates which was why she was quick to offer advice to him. She knows the key factors that could attract the attention of the student board and teachers.
[Haruki-kun…have you applied medicine to your cramp? I heard it was pretty bad?]
Emiko’s ears perked hearing the voice of none other than the nerd girl, whom she was most wary about. Minase Ayumi.
Emiko has been cautious against this girl since day one. Not only did she become friends with Haruki since the very early stage of the year, but they shared some mutual hobbies.
“Ah, yes. I mean, it was just a minor one, so I guess, an ice pack would do.” Haruki replied in slight embarrassment, which made Emiko frown.
‘Why is Haru-kun getting shy…’
The answer to that soon followed,
[Heh~Ayumi-chan is concerned about her Haru-kun, I see.]
[Fufu~ Don’t tease them, Kasumi.]
The voice of the two other females resounded from the speaker of the device.
Emiko’s frown deepened as they began to say things that surely shouldn’t get targeted toward a boy who already was in a relationship. And how could they even think of pairing that girl with her Haru-kun in the first place?
‘I need to make things clear…’ Emiko suddenly stood up, attracting Haruki’s eyes on her, as he suddenly realized what he had done.
However, before he could have muted the chat and called out to her, Emiko walked out of the room.
‘…is she mad…’ Despite knowing the answer to that already, Haruki hoped that Emiko might have just gone out to make coffee or something.
[Haruki? You there?]
“Yeah…”
[10 minutes later]
As Haruki was busy noting down the points his classmates were pointing out, which seemed beneficial for the argument, the door of the room suddenly pushed open.
Haruki was a little startled as he turned to look at Emiko who was holding a tray in her hand with two cups placed on it.
His eyes followed her, as Emiko walked around the bed and approached him.
Haruki thought that she would hand him the cup and return to her work. After all, appearing before the camera would be problematic.
However,
“Here is coffee for you, Haru-kun. Don’t overwork yourself.”
Not only did Emiko voice her concern which surely reached the other five as well, but she even hugged him briefly from the side.
She soon left his side, and returned to her working table, like nothing worth mentioning happened.
[Eh?]
[Huh?!]
[The hell…]
On cue, everyone began reacting to the spectacle they just watched on the screen. Although the face of the person wasn’t caught on the camera, anyone could see how intimate those two were.
Hayato was trying to pacify the scene but to no avail. When it comes to topics like these, women just couldn’t bother about things like personal boundaries or linenancy. They want to know it all.
[Haruki-kun? Was she your girlfriend just now? Or that cousin you talked about?]
Suddenly, Ayumi became a little bolder with her approach as she asked in a curious tone.
However, to Haruki, it felt that Ayumi was giving him an option. If he says that Emiko was his cousin then no one would suspect him. After all, living together with his girlfriend already, when he didn’t have a partner a month ago, would be a little unbelievable.
The safe option was to say that Emiko was his cousin…however,
“Yeah…she is my girlfriend.”

Later that day, while Emiko was preparing dinner, Haruki could be seen scrolling through his phone and writing some important notes about the upcoming debate. To accompany Emiko, he chose to sit at the dining table.
After the video call ended, on a very chaotic note where everyone was asking to meet Haruki’s girlfriend, Emiko had not said anything about what she did back then. And Haruki also seemed to be not mad about it either.
However, Emiko seemed quite restless at what Haruki must be thinking and what was his reaction to what she did; ushering the girl to finally ask him,
“Haru-kun…are you upset about what I did?” Emiko’s actions were influenced by the way his friends were teasing Ayumi and Haruki. She didn’t like her Haru-kun being paired with anyone other than herself, even if it was just a joke.
However, her insecurity has caused Haruki trouble, that’s why, it would be justifiable if he was mad at her.
In response, Haruki sighed before closing the notebook and focusing on Emiko; who still had her back facing Haruki.
He could sense that she was anxious about his thoughts on this matter, but she never said anything that could imply that she was regretting her decision to show up like that.
In the end, he didn’t make her any more nervous and just voiced his honest thoughts,
“No, I am not Emiko-san. I have already accepted the fact that one day, everyone will know about my relationship with you, so I was kinda prepared for it.”
Hearing his response, Emiko widened her eyes in surprise before turning to look at him, as she asked,
“That means…you have no problem accepting me as your partner, publicly?”
Haruki wanted to laugh at that. Somehow, it felt like the roles had reversed, but he chose to focus on her question.
Getting up, he walked toward Emiko and after firmly holding her shoulder, he told her without an ounce of hesitation,
“I am your boyfriend now, Emiko-san and I couldn’t care less who gets to know about it. So yeah, I have no problem getting publicly known as your partner.”
