- When the person I used to admire, turned out to be a Yandere!
- Chapter 48- Déjà vu?
Not just her secretary but there were some certain people who asked Emiko, why she loved Haruki so much.
She didn’t tell them anything in response, not because she was arrogant to answer or something, but rather, she couldn’t even begin to count, how many reasons were there to make her so attached to him.
Just take today as an example; after what she did back in his house, in front of Haruki’s sister, any boy would surely have gotten offended or at the very least reprimanded their partner for their actions. Not to talk about in the car when Emiko lost her control over her emotional wavelength and began complaining about the matter, for which she should be apologizing.
Yet, her Haru-kun didn’t get angry at her. He not only soothed her anxious heart but also carried her to the apartment. Small gestures like, using his jacket to cover her or how he was carefully helping her get rid of her heels, were some of the aspects that made him so special.
What was Emiko to him more than just an imposing figure in his life? Yet, he never backed off from taking care of her whenever her sloppy side surfaces.
‘If I count then there are many…’ Gazing at her beloved’s face, Emiko couldn’t help smiling as he carefully put Emiko down on the bed.
She has been pretending to be asleep all the way to the bed. She would have gotten up if only Haruki had any difficulty carrying her. But…
‘Can someone be more manly and handsome than my Haru-kun~’ Emiko sighed in admiration.
She was indeed blessed by the best partner.

Haruki was unsure what he should do with her clothes. Although the jeans and shirt didn’t look uncomfortable, given how she properly dressed in nightwear before sleeping, Haruki thought that she might not be too relaxed.
However, he didn’t have any other options. Changing her clothes was completely out of option and calling her secretary when the clock had already hit eleven seemed a little bit cruel.
In the end, Haruki only could leave her like that after tucking the girl inside the blanket.
However, just as he was about to move away and call his sister, the night lights of the room turned off.
“Haru-kun!” Before Haruki could have turned to look at her, Emiko already clung to his arm with her body evidently shaking.
Haruki was startled but he soon responded, “Emiko-san? What happened?”
“Dark….I don’t like to be in the dark…” Emiko’s voice wasn’t on its natural pitch and the way she was tightly holding on to him, stated how much dread the darkness had on her.
“Has the fuse tripped? Let me-”
“No! Don’t go!” Haruki’s attempt to check the fuse box was taken down by her desperate plea.
Haruki had no other option than to kneel on the ground and slowly caress her hair to soothe the girl.
He couldn’t even go to take his or her phone to turn the flashlight, that much she was shaken up. In the end, he could only wait for the light to return.
With his hand going up and down her hair, Haruki slowly mumbled under his breath, “It’s okay…I am here. Nothing will happen to you…I am here…”
‘Nothing will happen to you…I am here for you, Emi…I am here for you….’ Suddenly, Haruki’s hand went still as something flashed across his mind.
A memory? But how was it possible for him to feel déjà vu when he hadn’t been like this with Emiko before…nor did he have ever called her like that?
‘But why did it feel so…real?’ Haruki didn’t know when his forehead began shimmering with cold sweat and a frown marring his face.
“Haru-kun?” Thanks to Emiko’s voice, Haruki was able to pull himself back to reality…only to realize that the light had returned and Emiko was looking at him with concern.
Haruki shook his head and dismissed her worries, “It’s nothing. I…am going to take a quick shower.”
Under Emiko’s confused gaze, Haruki took a new pair of sleeping clothes and marched toward the bathroom.
He really needed to freshen up his mind.

Back in the one-room apartment, Rena could be currently seen sitting on the couch while scrolling through the pictures she took today.
Her husband was currently washing the dishes while humming a tune, Rena liked.
Amidst the silence, Masato suddenly raised a question that took Rena by surprise, “Something happened between you and Harada-san?”
Rena blinked in bafflement before responding absently, “No…why do you ask?”
“I mean, she looked distant to Haruki when you three walked out of the bedroom. I guess something happened?” Masato voiced his concern while wiping off the plates and arranging them on the stand.
Rena closed the mobile screen before plopping back in her seat and responding in a goofy tone,
“Hehe…I was just observing how she reacted when I mentioned Haruki’s childhood sweetheart.”
Masato grimaced upon hearing that. While this was something he could expect only from his wife, Masato still felt a little bitter to hear how Emiko was targeted with intentional provocation.
“Rena…you know it’s not really good to hear about your partner’s past from someone else right?”
Masato turned to look at his wife while wiping his hands.
Being scolded by her husband, Rena pouted and crossed her arms over her belly, “I know that much. Don’t take me for a fool.”
Masato sighed, finding his wife nothing but adorable acting in such a way. Making his way toward the couch he sat a little aside, considering how he must be smelling awful.
However, when Rena patted the space beside her (while her face still turned away in complaint), Masato was left with no choice but to get closer to his wife.
Wrapping his hand around her shoulder, he consoled her,
“I know you are worried. I know what concerns you most. And trust me, Haruki is nothing less than a brother to me, so my concern goes as far as yours.”
Rena’s shoulder dropped upon hearing that before she weakly turned to look at him with her eyes turning round and a fragile word leaving her lips, “Then…?”
Masato calmly explained, “It’s that, I can somehow judge a person by meeting them once and twice and the way, Harada-san treats Haruki…I can confidently say that she is smitten by him.”
Masato felt a little ashamed talking about his little brother and his girlfriend in this way, but there was no one else besides his wife, so he became a little lenient in his speech.
Rena didn’t have to contemplate her husband’s judgment. She trusts him blindly to even raise a single question when Masato says something with conviction.
Leaning her head on his shoulder, Rena mumbled under her breath, “I just hope, Haruki can find his home in Emi-chan.”
