- Chapter 40- Cruel side?
Emiko had a bad feeling about this sudden change in plan. Her mother has never been the kind of woman who does anything anonymously. So this sudden need to see her friend was highly suspicious.
Not to talk about the sudden mention of that dork named Shimazu. Last Emiko remembered he was clinging to her like a leech. He was the best example of the delusional young master of a rich family who knew nothing better than to flaunt his father’s money.
Initially, they weren’t acquainted, rather Kouske came seeking Emiko after he saw her performance as an idol. He was trying to form a good relationship with her family for some obvious reasons. However, Emiko humiliated him enough that she thought he would never turn to look at her or her family.
For her mother to mention that guy all of a sudden when she was here to meet Haruki…definitely something doubtful.
Then it clicked her…since evening, she hadn’t received a single message from Haruki. Last he texted her about his phone near dead. That was why she thought he hadn’t contacted her until now.
‘No…this can’t be a coincidence…’ Driving the car to a side, she first thought about calling her assistant and asking about Haruki’s whereabouts. Since a security team always tails him for Haruki’s safety, they would let her know whether Haruki has reached the apartment safely or not.
…however, a better idea popped into her head as she pulled out her phone.
It may upset Haruki if he comes to find it, but truth be told, Emiko never found herself guilty about keeping a tracking device on his every cloth.
Emiko guessed that maybe, Haruki hadn’t returned home that’s why he wasn’t able to charge his phone. Maybe he was hanging out with his friends? Emiko hoped that.
However,
“Why is he there?”
Haruki was nowhere near his college or the apartment, rather he was almost out of Tokyo, sitting in a random cafe.
Then it clicked her, as Emiko called for her Security chief and began inquiring about everything from the start. And it turned out, that her mother never had any intention of seeing Haruki as Emiko’s partner in the first place.

“Haru-kun!” Hearing Emiko’s voice, Haruki stood from his seat before his eyes met with the pair of orbs he could never falter to identify.
Their eyes met and within seconds, a lot of words were conversed between the two. Haruki could sense her distress and annoyance, but before he could have said anything, she dashed in his direction and threw herself in his arms.
“Ah, easy there…” Haruki somehow caught the girl in his embrace and placed his arms around her back while he tried to ease her anxiety.
His gaze traveled to Miyako who was silently watching the two with a displeased expression.
Well, Haruki couldn’t care less about the older one since his priority lay in calming Emiko down.
He could feel, her hastened heartbeat. Her light sobs and her continuous muttering about how she missed him. He could hear it all.
If this much wasn’t proof of her love, then Haruki didn’t know, what was.
‘And Harada-san was asking me to betray such a wonderful girl like Emiko-san…’ Haruki couldn’t help sighing inwardly.
“That’s enough, Emiko! Let him go.” Hearing her mother’s shrill voice, Emiko’s daze broke before she parted herself from Haruki yet didn’t let go of him entirely.
Turning her attention toward the guards, she commanded, “You lot, march out. Now!”
Her words made the guards tremble since this was the first they were seeing the young lady and the first impression they made was not pleasing at all.
However, the head of the group came forward with the intention to refute, “Harada Miyako-sama is our immediate superior so-”
“Pfft…and who do you think, gives you salary to spout such nonsense, you baldy?”
The bald bodyguard went completely silent while Miyako and Haruki shared a shocked look upon witnessing this…cruel side of Emiko.
However, this was nothing in comparison to what she had in store.
“Now be obedient and leave the store or those greed dots on your heads aren’t there just for decoration.”
“!!!” The bodyguards arranged across the hall, all panicked upon realizing the green dot fixed on their heads, which undoubtedly was the laser marks of snipers.
The bald bodyguard, gulped in fret before he wordlessly gestured toward the others and walked out of the store.
Within minutes, the temperature of the room fell severely upon the arrival of Emiko yet her anger was not subdued just by this.
“Come, let’s sit.” Hearing Emiko’s demand, Haruki was about to pull another chair from nearby, but Emiko shook her head and after urging him to sit down, she occupied his lap.
With her legs draped to the side, she encircled her arms around his neck and sat while clinging to her lover.
Miyako lost her cool before she slammed her palm on the table and raged, “What is this behavior, Emiko?! Is this how I taught you?”
Hearing the tone, not only Haruki but also the cafe staff, who were standing far away, trembled. Miyako’s eyes were stretched in anger with her face turning slightly red.
Yet, none of it affected Emiko.
“The person who taught me the basic principles of my life and the woman currently sitting in front of me are two different people. So please, don’t expect me to behave in moderation.”
Haruki slightly panicked hearing her bold words as he thought of saying something here…but in the end, he didn’t. He didn’t want to come between the mother and daughter until it was not extremely necessary.
Miyako’s expression shifted yet the flame of anger never lessened, as she once again nearly shouted,
“You dare to say such things to the person who gave birth to you?!”
Hearing her words, Emiko didn’t frown or show any sign of regret for her behavior.
Rather she was smirking.
‘Oh lord…I don’t have a good feeling about this…’ Haruki gulped in distress.

A/N:- …the twisted self of Emiko. The word Yandere isn’t there in the title for decoration, after all.
