- Chapter 17- I want to put you in a cage~
Kurihara Naomi has been acquainted with Emiko for two years now, working as her full-time manager and assistant.
Since Naomi had very little work experience, she was surprised to be picked up by Emiko—a rising star—even though at that time Naomi was working as an assistant manager of another model.
Naomi didn’t think twice before jumping on the offer and fortunately, she gained what she wished for.
Not only did Emiko only become even more popular over time, but the working atmosphere with her was also comfortable for Naomi.
Naomi has become a good friend of Emiko over time as well despite the fact that Emiko barely allows anyone to approach her other than those people Emiko herself has chosen.
Once an international make-up artist who has helped many models rise in their careers also offered to work for Emiko but the latter simply rejected. Others might not know but Naomi knew the reason behind Emiko’s rejection.
The makeup artist was a male.
Naturally, Emiko’s aversion to any man other than those she couldn’t avoid like the cameraman and work-related officials, made Naomi curious and soon she discovered the reason.
Harada Emiko was in love.
Naomi didn’t hear much from Emiko initially but one day her gaze landed on the content of the diary Emiko carries.
All the pages of the diary were filled with a single name—Haruki.
On an average of three diaries per month, Emiko just scribbled the same name over and over again and the expression she wore at that time couldn’t be compared to any of the modeling expressions she creates.
Emiko was obsessed with a person named Haruki.
Naomi never got to see him but she has heard a lot from Emiko related to how kind and good-looking her ‘Haru-kun’ is.
That was why when Naomi found out that the boy she was accusing was none other than the mysterious Haruki, her mind went blank and her face turned pale.
“Let’s take a seat first.”
Emiko’s voice couldn’t have been any more cold than it was currently. Working with her for the past two years has allowed Naomi to judge Emiko’s mood based on her actions alone.
And at that moment, she was totally angry.
“Look, Emi…you never told me anything about him, and when I saw a guy’s shoes at the entrance I just did what was necessary.”
If only Naomi had any idea who that young man she would have never accused him nor would have called the guards.
“That doesn’t change the fact that you shouted at my Haru-kun and would have thrown him out if only I would have been a little late.”
Naomi bitterly gulped without any rebuttal since it was true. More than just throwing out, Naomi probably would have reported the person to the police and whatnot.
“I had no way of identifying him and suddenly seeing a man coming out of your room when you never had any relationship in the past…you can imagine how it must have seemed from my perspective. ”
Naomi tried to pursue the girl who was indifferently looking at her. Her stony emerald eyes could be easily differentiated from the look she carried when Haruki was around.
Silence ensued between the two as Naomi felt her palms getting sweaty by the second.
Finally, Emiko sighed before she got up from the couch and said, “Don’t come into my house like this again. Ring the doorbell.”
Just as Emiko was about to walk away, Naomi hurriedly got up before she said, “Ah…about today’s shoot…”
“Cancel it or terminate the contract. I am not doing anything for this week so don’t bother me.”
It was the first time Emiko had ever canceled any appointment which made Naomi thoroughly surprised and made her aware, of how much this Haru-kun mattered to her.
Seeing the distancing back of her friend, Naomi couldn’t help but mutter under her breath, “I don’t know what change this guy would bring…”

After she ensured that her house was vacated, Emiko prepared some black coffee and green tea for herself and Haruki before she went back to the bedroom.
“Haru-ku-” Her voice suddenly came to a halt when she looked at Haruki who was no longer in his pajamas.
He now had a black shirt and black jeans with his hair messily arranged which gave him a vibe of cuteness. His physique wasn’t outstanding but he was tall and lean enough to make any clothes look compatible with him.
If Emiko was to describe his current appearance in two words then it would be, adorably sexy.
“Ah…Harada-san. I am sorry for not asking you before taking these clothes. Actually, I have to reach college in half an hour so I…”
There was nothing to apologize about…was what Emiko wanted to say but Haruki looked so damn good in those clothes that Emiko wasn’t able to say or think anything properly for a good minute.
Haruki got slightly uncomfortable feeling her gaze all over him like she was trying to assault him, which surely was ridiculous to even think about.
Soon, Emiko spoke up in an absent tone which made Haruki freeze up, “Hey Haru-kun….can’t I just cage you up?”
…
..
.
“Eh?” It took some time but when finally Haruki registered her words, he let out a strange sound that helped Emiko walk out of her stupor as she hurriedly changed the topic, “Ahm…you are going to college right? Let me cook you a quick bread and omelet.”
Despite still being in shock, Haruki was able to reply to her normally, “It’s ok, Harada-san. I will be late if I don’t board the train in fifteen minutes.”
The station was just a ten-minute walk so if he rushes then he would be able to catch the train.
However, Emiko had an entirely different plan as she insisted, “Don’t worry, Haru-kun. I will drop you off since my workplace is on the way.”
“…” That surely wasn’t a good plan.
