Chapter 47: Exploring Kanazawa

Phew, that was quite a meal.

It was a pretty famous restaurant, so there were quite a few people there at night.

Both Reina and I ordered the small size of the katsu curry, and even though it was spicy, the sauce added a satisfying kick. Going out to eat was definitely the right choice.

Since it would be a bit dull to just head straight back to the hotel, we decided to take a stroll around the station and the hotel area.

We had heard about a Kanazawa station exclusive pudding available on the other side of the station building, so we decided to check it out for tonight or tomorrow.

The souvenir shops that were still open were bustling with people carrying what seemed like heavy bags, most likely filled with souvenirs to take home. Among them, there was a crowd gathering around the refrigerated section.

Many people seemed to be after the pudding, whether for immediate consumption or for enjoying on the Shinkansen ride.

“This one looks good.”

“There are quite a few flavors… Reina, which one do you want?”

“I think I’ll go for the classic one. But the others look tempting too…”

“I’ll go for the Ruby Roman flavor. Want to share?”

“Sounds good!”

And so, we bought one of each, the classic and the Ruby Roman, and headed back to the hotel.

But before that, we wanted to explore the area around the hotel. The night view would be beautiful, and it would be interesting to see it from below.

We walked through the streets of the town, passing the station and the hotel.

“Look, Hayato. There’s a stylish bar.”

“Yeah. I might want to come back once I can drink alcohol.”

We found a nice-looking bar.
“This izakaya is closed today, but the menu photos look delicious, don’t they?”

“I know! My sister would be thrilled. Let’s invite her!”

We found a cozy izakaya as well.

“Wow.”

“The illuminated Koto Gate looks magnificent at night too.”

The lit-up Koto Gate exuded a commanding presence just by being there.

We found plenty of great spots in Kanazawa. This kind of exploration is the essence of traveling, and there were so many interesting things that I couldn’t stop taking pictures.

However, as the night grew later, the number of people gradually decreased, and the town began to feel a bit lonely.

Since it was nearing 8:30, we silently agreed that it was time to head back.

“Shall we go back?”

“Yeah. Let’s explore the other side tomorrow.”

This time, we went around the station and the hotel before returning to the station. Tomorrow, we could explore the opposite side, and it would be just as interesting.

Holding hands with Reina and carrying the slightly warmed-up pudding in my other hand, we returned to the hotel.

Back in our room on the eighth floor, we put the pudding in the fridge to chill for a while before eating it leisurely later. After all, we still had leftover curry for now.

While Reina went to the bathroom, I started preparing for a bath.

I took out a change of clothes from the carry-on bag and also grabbed the bag to put my worn clothes in. As for the towel… it was hanging over the bathtub, so I couldn’t get it right now. Since I didn’t hear the sound of the lock, I assumed it was fine for me to see Reina in the bathroom, but if I was mistaken, it would be awkward tomorrow, so I decided to play it safe.

I thought about turning on the TV to watch some variety shows, but just as I started searching for the remote, Reina came out of the bathroom.

“Sorry, Hayato. Here you go.”

“A towel? Did you notice?”

“The walls are thin, aren’t they? I heard rustling sounds and thought it might be the bath, so I thought you needed a towel.”

As expected of Reina. She really understands me.

I gratefully took the towel from her, and Reina also took out a change of clothes from her carry-on bag.

Both holding towels, we left the room.

“Let’s walk together until the entrance of the bath.”

“Okay.”

I held the key and left the room, waiting in front of the elevator for Reina.

When the elevator arrived at the eighth floor and the doors opened…

“Oh, Reina. Sorry about earlier, I didn’t notice.”

“Sister!”

Surprisingly, Fuyuka-san was already inside the elevator as a passenger. With a change of clothes and a towel in her arms, it was clear we had the same destination.

The elevator doors closed with us inside, and it began to ascend.

“I was totally knocked out. Did you need something?”

“We went out to eat a little bit. We wanted to invite you.”

“I see! I had a heavy lunch, so I just snacked on some calorie sticks.”

Reina chuckled.

As the elevator arrived at the tenth floor, the doors opened to reveal a large curtain with a ‘hot water’ character in it.

“Well then, see you later.”

“Yeah. See you later.”

“Hehe… Shall we investigate Hayato’s fetishes, Reina? I wonder how cute you’ve become~.”

“Hey! Sister, your hands are getting naughty!”

As Fuyuka-san teased Reina, they disappeared into the women’s bath.

It’s great that the sisters are close, but aren’t there any other guests around? They should be careful not to overdo it.

Well then. I’ll just relax and stretch out in the bath alone.

As I opened the door to the men’s bath, the unique scent of the hot spring wafted out.

The smell of the hot spring alone got me excited, and I felt like dancing a little.

From the looks of the dressing room, it seemed like there was no one else bathing. In other words, I could enjoy a pseudo-private hot spring experience!

With even more excitement, I undressed and put my clothes in the basket before heading to the bath.
