When My Younger Brother Stole My Girlfriend, I Began Living Together with My Beautiful Childhood Friend Almost As If We Were Married - Chapter 14
Episode 14: Current Girlfriend vs. Ex-Girlfriend
With Reina’s appearance, Amamiya and the others seemed utterly perplexed.
Although Anna felt similarly, she seemed to be caught off guard by Reina’s mention of “boyfriend,” glaring at Reina with teary eyes.
“What do you mean by that…! Calling Hayato-senpai your boyfriend without permission!”
“Senpai? Oh, I see, it’s you. You’re the despicable ex-girlfriend who made Hayato suffer. I find it even more unforgivable now.”
With her arms crossed and a sharp gaze, Reina seemed visibly angry.
“I know everything from Hayato… well, not everything, but I’ve heard. I’ll never forgive you for making Hayato suffer.”
Her voice chilled to the bone.
Anna felt pressured, but she immediately returned the glare.
“What do you know about me and Senpai…!”
“Like how you cheated and left Hayato, for example. It’s unfortunate, but now Hayato is mine, living happily with me. Can you not interfere?”
While it might be a fact from my perspective, it seemed like a bombshell to Amamiya and the others. They immediately confronted me after setting their lunches on a nearby desk.
“You! Are you really living with Iwasaki-san!?”
“What, seriously, what series of events led to such a miracle happening?”
“You sly dog. What dirty tricks did you use?”
“That’s an awful thing to say!”
It’s better to avoid phrases that make it seem like I’m the one who brought Reina here. A mixture of truth and falsehoods hits the hardest. Or so I believe.
Or rather…
“Everyone seems to know Reina. Is she famous?”
“Well, obviously! Wait, are you the subject of those rumors!”
“A top-class beauty from the Department of Economics and Information Studies. If she enters a beauty pageant, she’s guaranteed to win. She’s a perfect honor student. A true princess who dreams of reuniting with the prince she’s in love with.”
“What is all that?”
“Those are all nicknames for Reina-chan, sort of. “Are they all nicknames for Reina-chan? Come to think of it, Hayacchi was blocked by Anna-chan from getting any information about women.”
That’s certainly true.
However, despite that, cheating is still unforgivable.
As we focused on our conversation, it seemed like things were heating up on their end too.
“You must have pathetically begged after being shamefully dumped, didn’t you? Hayato will never leave me, so why don’t you just fawn over some random guy and spread your legs? That’s what you like, isn’t it?”
Sorry, but that’s quite the unrefined statement, isn’t it?
I don’t mind, but could it be that the beauty filter was obscuring this until now?
Or is she genuinely this angry for my sake?
If it’s the latter… I might be happy.
“Enough! I have nothing to discuss with you! Let me talk to Senpai!”
“…And then what? It would be great if you could see reality and disappear.”
Reina seems seriously angry. I should make sure not to anger her further.
While glaring at Reina, Anna clung to me again.
“Please, Senpai! Give me another chance!”
“I already said it’s impossible.”
“I’ve had enough! He doesn’t even wear protection when I ask him to, and he even records videos…!”
“I told you he’s scum like that at least twice. You weren’t listening, huh?”
So, when Anna asked me about our home a few times, I hinted at it, but I didn’t expect it to go this far. Whatever happens to Anna and the others doesn’t concern me, but I need to somehow show them hell.
“Why did you even cheat in the first place?”
At this point, Amamiya interjected.
Ordinarily, it might be best to avoid getting involved as an outsider, but honestly, I appreciate the difficult question.
“…Because of his face.”
“Huh?”
Reina, not me or Amamiya, expressed a voice filled with disgust.
“His face is better than Senpai’s, and I got carried away… But I truly love only Senpai!”
“Are you saying that for real?”
“Sorry, but no. I thought I might defend you out of pity, but that’s impossible.”
Reina’s voice grew angrier, and Amamiya also spoke hesitantly.
I don’t know the details, but wouldn’t being harshly criticized by another woman like this affect one’s mental state? I feel like I saw something like this in high school.
Whether it’s the limit of her patience or not, Reina pushed Anzu away from me as if shoving her.
“You’re hopeless trash, aren’t you? Betraying Hayato and shamelessly touching him with a body tainted by another man. It’s all your fault, so just give up already.”
“But…!”
“Disappear. If you do anything to trouble Hayato again, I’ll seriously kill you.”
Her threat was calm but menacing.
Anna stood up, tears filling her eyes as she walked past.
“I won’t give up… I won’t let you take him away from me…”
As she left, her words sounded like a bitter grudge against Reina or something else.
But now that Anna has run off, perhaps we can finally return to peace.
