When My Younger Brother Stole My Girlfriend, I Began Living Together with My Beautiful Childhood Friend Almost As If We Were Married - Chapter 0: Prologue
Prologue
The shock felt like a blow to the head, or so I thought.
I, Hayato Matsui, had a girlfriend since high school.
Her name was Anna Iyojima.
She was a year younger, and our relationship began with a confession during our club activities in high school.
She could have aimed for a better university with her grades, yet our relationship was so good that she chose to attend the same university just to be with me.
But it seems I was the only one who thought that way.
“I’m sorry, Nii-chan. She seems to be physically more compatible with me.”
My younger brother, Takumi Matsui, said with a smirk.
And there they were, naked on Takumi’s bed, Anna hiding under the covers.
Coming home to the noise from Takumi’s room, I entered to find this scene. For a moment, I couldn’t comprehend.
But slowly, reality dawned on me, and before I knew it, I was pounding Takumi’s cheeks with all my might.
“Stop it!”
Anna clung to Takumi, who was thrown back with a scream-like cry.
Seeing that, I realized it was over.
Turning around with a sigh, I saw our stern-faced parents standing in the hallway with their arms crossed.
“Hayato! Why did you hit Takumi, your own brother?”
“So immature. Can’t you let a couple of girls go to Takumi? It’s only natural since Takumi is more capable than you.”
That’s right. These rotten parents always blamed me whenever something happened.
So, Takumi got cocky, always treating me with disrespect, and these two never bothered to correct him.
Honestly, this place is like a twisted hellhole.
I’ve endured most things. But this, I can’t bear anymore. I’m in university, I can stand on my own.
Cutting ties with this rotten environment is necessary for me now.
“…I’m leaving. Can’t stand being with you people.”
I said, returning to my room, packing my belongings into cardboard boxes. I tied them to a suitcase filled with clothes and small items, then roughly opened the door and stepped out into the hallway.
Though Anna seemed to want to say something from Takumi’s room, I didn’t care anymore.
Takumi emerged from his room with a dirty laugh.
“Leaving, Nii-chan? Running away, huh? Pathetic.”
“…Shut up. Fail your university entrance exams.”
I know it’s pathetic, but I said it anyway as I walked down the stairs, feeling miserable.
Finally, I put on my remaining shoes and tried to leave the house, but my father threw me his seal and a bankbook.
“This is the bankbook and seal for the account where the university fees are deducted. With this, our parental obligation ends. Never associate with us again.”
“Yeah, got it. I’ll thank you only for the tuition fees.”
That’s the truth. With this, I’ll never have to deal with my family again.
Ignoring the cold stares from inside the house, I left with rough steps, kicking the front door as I departed.
