When My Girlfriend Cheated On Me And Spread Rumors That I Was A Guy Who Would Sleep With Anyone, I Decided To Just Accept It And Ended Up Dating The Most Slutty Girl In School. - Chapter 1: From Heaven to Hell.
From Heaven to Hell.
“Haha! Today is the best day of my life!”
Racing through an unfamiliar town on his mom’s bike is Ashimura Naoki, a high school junior in an exceptionally good mood.
Today was the release date of Ichiban Kuji by Three Stars, the V-tuber group he is obsessed with.
So, after school, he had been storming into every convenience store that participated in the event.
Three Stars is a super popular group with multiple VTubers boasting over a million subscribers each.
Naturally, many stores sold out of the Ichiban Kuji on the first day.
After searching high and low, he finally found a store in a less frequented area in the neighboring town.
He spent his part-time job earnings and, miraculously, got his hands on a figure of his favorite VTuber.
“Where should I display Setsuna’s figure~? I got so much other stuff too. Maybe I should set up a shrine!”
Setsuna, his favorite, is a male VTuber with white hair, red eyes, and bandages, embodying the ultimate edgy assassin character.
Despite frequently flirting with controversy through his sharp tongue, he is surprisingly sensible and deeply cares for his friends, a passionate man. From FPS and MOBA games to trending big titles and bizarre indie games, he makes any game entertaining with his genius commentary.
Not only that, he’s a professional-grade singer. Even as a guy, Naoki couldn’t help but idolize how cool he is.
Unsurprisingly, he’s also very popular with women, and Naoki secretly aspired to be like him someday.
Winning a figure of his favorite VTuber left Naoki feeling like he was in heaven.
Now, all he had to do was get home safely without any accidents.
That was the plan as he pedaled along.
“Huh?”
While waiting at a traffic light, he noticed a taxi stop in front of an apartment building across the street.
Out stepped a handsome, wealthy-looking college student and a beautiful girl who looked a lot like Shimizu Chiharu, Naoki’s girlfriend.
(“Hehh~, What a coincidence,”) he thought casually, but for some reason, he couldn’t start pedaling even when the light turned green.
“Isn’t that Chiharu?”
The words slipped out before he could stop them, but he immediately dismissed the thought.
After all, Chiharu lived in the neighboring apartment building, and they had known each other since elementary school.
She was his childhood friend, and they had started dating in middle school.
She had been a crybaby and a shy, reserved girl, but as the years went by, she grew into a beautiful girl everyone envied.
Though she might not be as pure-hearted as she appeared, being his long-time childhood friend and girlfriend, Naoki knew her true nature. She had her sly and slightly devious sides, but he found them endearing.
Everyone has their good and bad sides.
As Setsuna once said, people are complex.
Regardless, Chiharu was his girlfriend.
They had even been intimate.
Though he never said it out loud, Naoki assumed they would eventually get married.
Since she moved from the neighboring apartment to a house last year, they no longer walked home together, and he felt a bit distanced from her. But, he figured it was just a natural phase of their relationship, which had previously been too clingy.
In any case, there was no way that was Chiharu.
She was his girlfriend, and being with another guy would mean she was cheating, and Chiharu wasn’t the type to cheat.
So, it must have been someone who just looked like her, or maybe a doppelgänger…
“Bwah!?”
Naoki nearly choked, realizing he had forgotten to breathe.
It wasn’t just that. He felt dizzy.
If he didn’t keep his feet firmly on the ground, he might have collapsed.
(No, no, no, no, no! That can’t be Chiharu! Just doubting her like this is wrong!)
Chiharu was his childhood friend, best friend, and girlfriend.
It would be rude to suspect her just because he saw a girl who looked like her with a guy.
Despite thinking that, Naoki couldn’t take his eyes off the pair.
Why?
Suddenly, Naoki realized the reason.
“That outfit… it’s Chiharu’s special outfit.”
Whenever Chiharu wanted to look her best, she always dressed overly demure.
A white shirt, a simple dress, and white socks.
Her hairstyle was the same, and she had the same mole under her eye.
There was no way it could just be a coincidence.
Naoki’s mind froze. He didn’t want to think further.
Thinking any more would lead to the worst possible conclusion.
The girl who looked like Chiharu and the college-aged guy were chatting amiably in front of an upscale apartment building. The girl clung to the guy’s arm and exclaimed, “Wow! You live in a place like this!” pointing upwards.
The college-aged guy said something and patted her butt.
The girl, with a seductive smile Naoki had never seen before, kissed him, clinging tightly.
It was fortunate Naoki couldn’t see the guy’s face clearly because of the shadows.
Otherwise, his blood vessels might have burst, or he could have had a heart attack.
After a long, greedy kiss, the two separated.
Naoki watched them in a daze.
Their eyes met over the guy’s shoulder.
The girl’s face twisted momentarily and she was no longer the girl who looked like Chiharu.
“What’s wrong?” the college-aged guy asked, tilting his head.
Chiharu quickly regained her smile and replied, “It’s nothing.”
Without looking at Naoki, she and the guy entered the high-end apartment, arms linked.
“I see,” Naoki murmured.
“It’s …nothing, huh…….”
What did she mean by that?
Who knows?
But, well, apparently, it was nothing.
Wobbling, Naoki pedaled his bike home, narrowly avoiding several accidents along the way.
After arriving home, he opened the Setsuna figure and placed it in the prime spot in his display case. Suddenly, tears started to flow.
“What do you mean ‘nothing’?!”
He might have felt a bit better if he could have rampaged and trashed his room.
But, sadly, Naoki was an otaku.
“…What the hell… seriously…”
He repeated the words, collapsing onto his bed like a wilting flower.
Pulling the blanket over his head, he cried until he was exhausted and fell asleep.
