When My Doorbell Rang at 5am, I Got a Wife - Chapter 24: Pair Mol
Chapter 24: Pair Mol
On our way to Kura Sushi, we dropped the letter to the interworld into a postbox.
And then.
“I’ve finally come! This is the conveyor belt sushi restaurant!”
As we arrived at Kura Sushi, I led Erika, who was excitedly looking around the store, to the seat I had reserved.
She wiped her hands with a hand towel and said,
“I can take whatever I want from this, right?”
Erika, hiding her excitement, said as she looked at the sushi moving on the conveyor belt.
“That’s right, you can take whatever you like.”
“Then I’ll go! First— it’s kohada!”
“You’re a complete sushi hardcore fan, taking kohada first…”
“Of course, I’ve done my homework. I heard that connoisseurs start with kohada.”
“I heard that too. It’s a dish that tests the skills of sushi chefs, I saw it on TV once.”
“Hmmmm. The subtly extracted umami is delicious.”
“Yeah, I’m glad you like it.”
Seeing Erika’s happy face makes me feel happy too.
“I’ve always wanted to eat sushi starting with kohada. Thank you, Tooru.”
Erika smiled happily, looking very satisfied.
“I’m glad you enjoyed it.”
I was greatly impressed, and as tai and maguro just happened to be in front of me, I took one plate of each.
I dipped them in soy sauce and wasabi and took a bite of the tai.
“Hey! Eating tai right away! Are you a sushi amateur?!”
Erika was startled by my action.
“Well, I don’t really like vinegar-marinated fish. For me, sushi is tai and maguro.”
“Oh…”
“You can eat whatever you like, it’s a restaurant for the masses. If you do things normally, you won’t be bothered by manners and such, that’s the good thing about being a commoner.”
“I see, that’s how it is. Then I’ll take this beautiful green avocado roll—“
“Stop, I don’t recognize it as sushi. I don’t like the taste either, so take something else.”
“But you said I could eat whatever I like—“
“No, I won’t allow it. take something else.”
“… Alright.”
Erika, overwhelmed by my resolute attitude, gave up on the avocado roll and took a maguro plate.
Phew, I won’t let anyone call avocado rolls as sushi as long as I’m alive…!
(Note: This is purely for dramatic effect in the story! Kanatan respects diverse opinions and food cultures!)
After that, we decided to mainly order sushi via tablet.
“I can’t believe my own dedicated sushi is coming around! I’m surprised that conveyor belt sushi has evolved so much, it’s amazing!”
Erika was very excited to see sushi being delivered at high speed via a dedicated lane.
Furthermore,
“Please hit! Go! I did it, I hit it!”
Erika was happy and sad about the results of the gacha, which you can play by putting in the finished plates.
We enjoyed the fun conveyor belt sushi.
After that, we bought the necessary daily necessities for Erika’s move-in and set off on our way home.
On the way back, Erika was smiling and laughing, remembering the time when she got two puipui plushies of a morrisette chain from the gacha earlier, dangling them in front of her and making them go puipui.
The first conveyor belt sushi experience was obviously very enjoyable for her.
“I’m glad you enjoyed it. But too bad, the gacha was a double.”
“I can still use it. Here, I’ll give you one of the doubles as a memento of today.”
“What, you’re giving it to me even though you won it?”
“There’s no point in having two of the same thing, so it’s a pair of morrisettes with you.”
“I’m not sure what to say about being called a pair of morrisettes…”
“Girls want to share everything with the person they like.”
“Is that so?”
“That’s how it is. Here you go.”
“Thanks, Erika. This is actually the first gift I’ve ever received from a girl. I’ll treasure it.”
“Abbreviated as pair mol.”
“That’s a bit awkward, isn’t it? It doesn’t make sense when you hear it, and it sounds like a knockoff product of The Premium Malt’s (Premoru).”
“In Japan, you tend to abbreviate long words into three or four letters, even if it’s a bit forced.”
“Erika really knows a lot about Japan and Japanese culture…”
I was left speechless by Erika’s deep understanding of Japan.
