When I was Reincarnated into a Game World, I Was a Farmer’s Son - Chapter 32
Chapter 32
It has been a month since the first time I defeated a Horn Saber. During this one month, I was able to hunt Horn Sabers everyday without a hitch, but I also encountered some other monsters.
As I continue to hunt and defeat Horn Sabers, I find myself going deeper into the forest.
Suddenly, I feel a strong push on my back and fall down. As I’m about to pick myself up, a Forest Wolf got on top of me. Before I knew it, it teeth has sunk into my left shoulder. In a state of shock, fear, and pain, I instinctively struggle and managed to get the Forest Wolf off me. As soon as I stand up, the Forest Wolf charges at me again.
In panic, I frantically swing my wooden spear onto the Forest Wolf and land a counter blow on it. I hit the Forest Wolf in the head, instantly defeating it in a single strike.
Huh…? Ouch!
When I look at my bitten left shoulder, checking how bad it is, I see that there are holes in my clothes, but my shoulder is only bleeding a little, it looks more like a scratch rather than a bite. After calming myself down, I realized that it wasn’t really painful. Perhaps I was just surprised.
I thought that the Forest Wolf had bitten off a chunk of my shoulder of something like that, but it seems like I’m fine. Perhaps due to my moderate status values, the Forest Wolf couldn’t manage to inflict much damage to me.
When I return home, my mother is furious about the holes in my clothes, but when I realize that I didn’t suffer much damage even though I was bitten by a Forest wolf, it gave me a sense of confidence.
From then on, I continue to go to the forest near the lake every day and hunt weaker monsters in the forest’s edge. It seems that stronger monsters can be found in the deeper parts of the forest, so I should be careful of my sense of direction and not accidentally go into the deeper parts of the forest again.
Even though it was not really painful, I don’t want to get bit by a Forest Wolf again. Rather, I don’t want to take any damage if I can. I don’t my clothes to get torn and see mom angry again. That’s why I need to be careful and avoid getting hit by monsters as best as I can.
By the way, I stopped sharpening my wooden spear. In the beginning, I tried to thrust and pierce through the monsters with my wooden spear a few times, but every time I thrust a monster, the sharp tip of my wooden spear would break. In the end, I resorted to swinging my wooden spear to strike and defeat them.
I think it would work if I can accurately target their eyes or vital points, but I don’t have that kind of skill or experience when it comes to dealing with moving monsters. I found it bothersome and exhausting to constantly sharpen and maintain my wooden spear, so I decided just to use it as it is. It seems like it is unlikely for me to acquire ant spear-combat skills after all.
Also, during this past month, my level has also increased.

The amount of experience points I gain in a day by hunting monsters has increased several times compared to by fishing in the lake. Although levelling up is more and more difficult as my level grows due to the required experience points for levelling up have also increased, I managed to raise my level by three levels in one month. The effect of the Sapphire Earring which gives me five times more experience points, is indeed significant. If I had only been fishing, it might have taken about a year for me to level up three times.
Both of my Throwing Rock and Stick Art skills have reached level 3. Lately, battling monsters has become much easier compared to when I first encounter that Horn Saber.
However, I’ve only encountered weak monsters this while time, so I don’t know when it comes to stronger monsters. I shouldn’t push myself too hard and continue levelling up by hunting weaker monsters.
My motto is to value and cherish the life I have.
