When I was Reincarnated into a Game World, I Was a Farmer’s Son - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
A week has passed since I started remembering the memories of my previous life.
In this past week, I’ve been asking my mom and dad various questions.
I managed to get valuable information, I got the name of the village where we live, the name of the country, and even some historical details. I already know some of that information and I’m familiar with some of the situations as Neil, but I want to confirm and grasp the current situation by clearly asking those questions.
When I asked my parents’ their name, they were really worried that I got amnesia and forgot everything.
By the way, my father’s name is Doug and my mother’s name is Mylene.
The name of the village where we live in is Machikane village. It’s a village with a population of about 100 people. It’s not a small village, but it is not the biggest as well.
I learned that if a village wants to become a town, it must be surrounded by stone walls.
However, a place with shops or a church can also be considered a town even without stone walls surrounding it. The criteria for defining a down are quite vague and I even got confused at first, but my parents said as long as it looks like a town, it can be considered as a town.
Usually, villages don’t have walls, they only have wooden fences at most. However, the village we live in, Machikane village, doesn’t have any fences. Fences and walls are built to protect us from monster attacks, but there are not a lot of monsters approaching Machikane village. As the population grew and the village grows bigger, they removed the fences.
But monsters, huh? Sounds like something out of a fantasy movie. Maybe this place is not the same world I live in my previous life after all.
By the way, the nearest town from Machikane village is called Northern town. It’s about half a day’s walk away. I’ve never been there, but it seems that my father and mother go there once or twice a month to sell the vegetables they harvest from the fields to the shops.
In fact, my uncle, mom’s older brother runs a shop in Northern town. The shop has been passed down in generations.
Both of my grandparents had passed away before I was born. So, my uncle and his wife took over the shop. Meanwhile, on my father’s side of family, both of my grandparents had also passed away before I was born.
Then about two weeks’ walk from Northern town, there’s a big town called Dansunza where the ruler of this area lives.
There is a school in Dasunza, in fact, both my mom and dad went to school there. it was where they met, fell in love and eventually got married with each other.
When they told me their story, I can’t help but to think that they might have felt a connection with each other because the both of them lost their parents at a young age. They might have an understanding towards each other due their similar circumstances.
Then, further from Dunsanza is a capital where the marquis lives, and even beyond that is the royal capital where the king resides. Neither dad nor mom has went further than Dunsunza, so they don’t know how far it is.
They said maps are very expensive, so common people like us rarely get to see them. Because of that, both of my parents don’t have a good reading a map or geography.
The country I live in is the Kingdom of Eldor. It seems to be a big country. I asked my parents about the details of the country and its history, but neither mom nor dad seem to know much about it.
However, what caught my attention are the name of my village “Machikane” and the name of the kingdom, “Eldor”.
…I feel like I’ve heard those names somewhere, but I can’t remember it.
When I think about it from the perspective of Yamada Keiichi rather than as Neil, there is something about those names that strikes a chord.
