When I was Reincarnated into a Game World, I Was a Farmer’s Son - Chapter 17
Chapter 17
The game “Demna Senki” has quite some mini-games, one of them is fishing.
There are several fishing spots throughout the game, and if you collect the fish and give them to a wealthy fish-loving nobleman residing in the capital, you can earn points.
These points can be exchanged for various rare items that the wealthy nobleman offers, based on the number of points you have.
However, these rare items don’t have much impact on the game progression. The items are mostly just convenient to have. The item that requires the most points to exchange is a weapon, but by the time you reach the end of the story, the weapons they sell in the weapon shops are a lot stronger. But still, it’s just cool to have something limited and rare like that.
Collecting points can be quite challenging, the rarer the fish you catch the more points you will get from the nobleman. However, this minigame is considered too time-consuming by the players that leads to negative reviews.
As a part of the main story events, players are required to catch a fish at least once throughout the game. However, many players just tend to avoid or forget about the fishing minigame completely because it is not really fun and not worth your time.
In my previous life, I only tried fishing two or three times and quickly gave up.
Now, here is the main reason I want to fish here, it turns out that all the fish you catch in the game are actually monsters, and when you catch a fish in the game, you actually gain some experience points.
I remember when I played the game, when I caught a fish, a message appears on the screen saying,
“Caught [fish name]. +15 exp points.”
No matter how rare the fish you catch is, you will only gain 15 exp points per catch in the game, so it was actually useless to try to grind your level by fishing in the game. But right now, I see it as an opportunity.
If the exp gain in this world is the same as the game, I will get 15 exp points per catch, and on top of that, I have the Sapphire Earring that has an effect of gain 5x more exp points. So that means I can gain 75 exp points in one catch.
By training alone, it would take seven months for me to level up to the next level, but by fishing, I can level up in just three catches.
There is no harm in giving it a try, right?
However, I have a few doubts about this. Is it really possible to gain experience points just by fishing? If that’s the case, fishermen here would become incredibly strong by gaining experience points every time they catch a fish, wouldn’t they?
In the game, it is said that when the protagonist defeats the caught fish (which are actually monsters), they will receive experience points.
That’s why, I decided to use the Appraisal skill to the two large fish that father brought home using my Silver Ring of Appraisal.
Blue Perch:
A freshwater fish that inhabits the depths of a beautiful lake.
Edible.
It doesn’t seem to be a monster. Perhaps dad was right, maybe there are some monsters came to that lake causing the fish to flee to the shores.
Anyway, I should go to the lake and confirm it myself.
