When I was Reincarnated into a Game World, I Was a Farmer’s Son - Chapter 11
Chapter 11
I want to level up and hunt monsters for its meat using the Sapphire Earring so that I get five times more experience from it. However, there is one slight problem, my current job is a farmer.
In the game, the farmer job is only for NPCs, and the main protagonist can’t choose that job, so I’m not familiar with the details of this job. In the game’s storyline, it was generally known that farmers were not useful in combat, as their parameter values were far lower compared to other jobs.
Although there were a few stories about a farmer’s child achieving success and such, it was mostly because they originally had a different job from their parents from birth. For example, even though the protagonist is the son of a merchant, his original job is actually a swordsman.
To change jobs, you either have to go to the church and request a job change or purchase a job change jewel from a magic tool shop, but both options require a significant amount of money.
In the game, as the story progressed, you would have quite some money to some extent, and by defeating monsters while levelling up, you could sell the items you obtained, so it wasn’t too expensive buy the job change jewel when I played the game.
However, realistically speaking, it’s not something that can be easily done. This is a completely different case, I’m just a farmer’s boy. It would be impossible even if I spend my whole life for it.
When I was playing the game, I didn’t think anything about it, but now I realize that the protagonist is indeed special and chosen.
For someone like me who is born as a farmer, to change jobs, I would need something like a divine revelation ritual. I need to catch the attention of the nobles with my status and then work hard, save money, or get some help from them, just like what Sante-kun did.
However, that would take an incredibly long time, and the chances of being noticed by nobles are extremely low.
Besides, I don’t even want to get involved with nobles too much. There’s a possibility it can affect the main storyline.
Well, job changes also require going to the church, and I don’t want to have much involvement with the church either, so I can only give up on it.
If I don’t have the money to buy it, the item to change jobs can be occasionally obtained from treasure chests in dungeons. However, they are mostly found in mid-game dungeons, which makes them too difficult to obtain.
I guess I have no choice but to give up on changing my job
For now, I’ll have to do my best to level up as a farmer.
I don’t know how many years, or even decades, it will take, but there’s no other way.
