When I Was Reincarnated, I Got the Skills [Slave Command] and [Recovery], so I Created a Secret Society for Slaves Just for Fun - Chapter 9 - Survivors
Chapter 9 – Survivors
In essence, this slave market sells both the quality of the slaves and their safety as a package deal.
On the flip side, it also means that the slave market bears the risk of potential bankruptcy the moment they betray consumer trust even once. Consumers understand this, and that’s why they come to reputable establishments, trusting them to provide high-quality and legitimate slaves.
“What’s wrong, Lawrence? You seem a bit disappointed. Did you have another slave market in mind?”
“No, it’s not that. I just thought, since I’m here, I might as well raise the levels of both my skills, [Slave Command] and [Recovery], at the same time. But considering it’s a high-quality slave market, they might only have slaves who don’t need the [Recovery] skill. It’s just my own assumption, though. I used to imagine that slave markets kept their slaves in squalid conditions, providing them with just enough food to survive in terrible environments. So, it turns out I jumped to conclusions. Besides, I wouldn’t want to buy illegally obtained slaves.”
My father saw I was a little disappointed and asked me if I was dissatisfied with something, so when I answered without hiding my true feelings, he muttered, “I see,” and started to contemplate.
I wonder if he has something on his mind?
With that in mind, I entered the slave market with my father, checked in, and waited for the manager in the guest room.
However, I am originally from Japan, so I still can’t get used to the feeling of walking on a fluffy carpet with shoes on. As I was thinking about this, there was a knock and the manager and a female attendant entered the room.
“Nice to meet you, I am Oaks, the manager in charge of the slave market here, and this is the deputy manager, Sarah.”
Oaks, the manager here, is tall, slender, with slicked-back hair, wearing glasses, and exuded an air of competence. Sara, the deputy manager, also has long hair tied back and wears a suit. She seems like a capable woman.
“Ah, nice to meet you. I’m sure you already know me, but I’m Edward Westgaff, and the person next to me is my son Lawrence.”
After the introductions were finished, Oaks sat down across the desk from us and tried to hand over a file containing materials that would probably contain slaves, but my father refused to accept. He blocked it with his hands.
It’s as if there was a slave he had in mind from the beginning.
“I don’t need to see the document. Anyway, among the individuals sold to the former head of the Mage Association, Fruda, who was executed recently, are there any survivors who have returned?”
