When I reincarnated in the world of a gal game, I had memories of all the heroines being conquered, and it turned into a chaotic situation... - Chapter 7
“Tell a better lie next time.”
Yui’s reaction was far too predictable.
Well, that was to be expected. A story as absurd as this was impossible to believe.
But it was the truth. In the Wakana route, this was the fate that awaited.
…I really didn’t want to enter this route. I thought that so earnestly.
“This isn’t a lie. Did it seem too dramatic? Ah… Maybe you got jealous because of the bond we share? Sorry for leaving no room for you to interfere.”
Yui said, irritated by Wakana’s taunt.
“I can be just as dramatic.”
“Wow, I’m listening.”
With eyes that seemed to say, “I’ll howl at you in no time,” Yui started speaking.
“I used to hate Riku at first. He was trying his best to take the seat as my personal butler so seriously, but his personality was always so carefree, which made me really frustrated.”
She started her story to counter Wakana.
“But when it came to tackling the assignments, he was always reliable. That was frustrating too. I kept pushing myself to outdo Riku, to beat him. But then, one time, I worked too hard, and my efforts backfired. I thought it was all over. I thought his dream of becoming my butler would never go hungry was shattered. At that moment, Riku protected me. Not only that, he fixed my mistake.”
That was the trigger for Yui falling for me. I remember thinking it was an overly cliché development and feeling unimpressed. Besides, that’s not the motivation a heroine should have. Honestly, I’m amazed I made it through this game to the end.
“That’s when I started liking Riku. But it was too late to be honest. I couldn’t confess my feelings to Riku, so I continued my awkward approach, living my school life without revealing my true feelings. And then, one day, the fateful event happened.”
This is where it gets mysterious.
“I found out that I’m actually the princess of Resistentia.”
“Huh?”
Wakana was bewildered. That was indeed understandable.
“I found out I was a princess through a DNA test I happened to take by chance.”
Another absurd game-like setting took place. But… that’s not how it works.
Wakana had become so sure it was a lie and looked disappointed.
“So, I was drawn into the scheme of a minister, and I was taken to Resistentia. I couldn’t do anything about it. But at least I confessed my feelings to Riku before leaving.”
Yes, that’s how I became Yui’s love interest. I remember thinking I’d rather focus on something other than falling in love.
“Then, I was taken away, and I became the captured princess. I had dreamed of becoming Riku’s beloved, but instead was holed up in the royal castle for a few years.”
And then… Yui’s eyes sparkled as she said the next words.
“When I had lost all hope… That’s when Riku appeared back in front of me.”
Welp, I was trying to run away from her but got caught in her mischief.
“Riku broke into the royal castle alone and rescued me. He freed me from my captivity. And Riku and I started living a quiet life, hiding from pursuers. I could spend all day serving Riku, and it was a very happy life.”
These were the events of the game.
“One day, when the pursuers got too close, we thought we couldn’t escape forever. So, Riku went to the negotiation table with the condition that they let me go. He persuaded my father to give me freedom. And he even exposed the wicked minister who was behind the scheme. Riku became a national hero in our kingdom.”
“How long do we have to listen to this fake story?”
“I guess it was too dramatic for you, Wakana. Well, after that, Riku and I returned to being students, had a wedding after graduation, and were blessed by the entire nation. That’s the end, so I can’t tell you more.”
“Hey, Yui.”
“What?”
“Competing with me is fine, but can’t you come up with a better lie?”
“Huh? That’s your problem, isn’t it?”
After glaring at each other, they suddenly became serious. And then, after a while, they turned their faces toward me.
“This is not a lie, right, Riku?”
“Riku-kun, Yui is lying, right?”
When they questioned me, the door to the rooftop opened.
“Riku-kun!”
Himeno rushed over and hugged me tightly which made me disbalanced and I fell back.
“Hey, Riku-kun. What’s going on?”
“Wait, did you pull the same stunt with Himeno-san too?”
“What’s going on here?”
I trembled with panic and fear thinking about how I would resolve this situation.
