A week had passed since Lilia destroyed the Imperial Palace.

One of the factions targeting Lilia was eliminated, and it seemed the other faction, the Church, decided to refrain from making any overt moves after confirming this.

And, as requested that night, I had acquired the title of Marquis.

It was a title without any actual territory or management responsibilities, so it was quite relaxing. 

Overall, my life hadn’t changed much.

However, in stark contrast to me, the Imperial family, including the Emperor, was being kept incredibly busy, with barely any time to sleep.

The reason was simple…

Dozens of Imperial family members, with the exception of a few, had lost their lives simultaneously in a single night.

“And the objective?”

“Your assassination, Master. They likely believe that if you, their noble protector, is eliminated, they can get hold of Lady Lilia.”

The Church, which had refrained from taking such direct action until now, had finally made its move.

In that case, I would have to respond accordingly.
