When I Reincarnated as the Villain of a Game World, I Created a Harem and Broke the Protagonist's Heart and Efforts! - Chapter 73 : Preparation
Chapter 73 : Preparation
“Master, the Priest has taken an interest in Lady Lilia.”
During a lecture on magical theory, Leviana delivered this message to me through mental communication, which I could use due to our demonic contract.
“I’ll be there immediately.”
I responded briefly through the same mental link with Leviana and stood up.
All eyes in the classroom turned towards me, but I paid no attention and headed straight for the exit.
“Wraith Heaville. Where do you think you’re going? We’re still in the middle of a lesson.”
“It’s none of your concern.”
“Wraith Heavil—?!”
I silenced the persistent teacher with a wave of killing intent and headed towards the door, taking Serena with me.
“So, what happened?”
“It seems the Priest has found Lilia.”
“I see…”
Serena understood from my brief explanation and fell silent.
We continued down the empty, echoing hallway and arrived at the training grounds where Lilia and Lulua were having their lesson.
The class was still in session, with several students casting magic at targets.
Among the students taking a break, I spotted Lilia and as usual Lulua was by her side.
I headed straight towards them.
“Lilia, Lulua.”
“Master~”
“Wraith-sama, why are you here? Isn’t it still time for your class?”
Lilia greeted me with a gentle smile, while Lulua asked the obvious question.
I gave a light response to both, and Leviana, who had been lurking in the shadows, silently emerged from the ground.
“Explain the situation.”
“Yes. The priest who took an interest in Lady Lilia visited the magic academy today in what seemed like an inspection. When he saw Lady Lilia using healing magic, he stopped and began to pray, shedding tears. After inquiring about her with the accompanying teacher, he left the academy. From the circumstances, it appears he has started to take various actions.”
“I see.”
The church had discovered Lilia’s existence.
I had always expected this to happen someday, but it was sooner than anticipated.
Based on Leviana’s report, the priest likely identified Lilia as a saintess because of her healing magic.
I had heard once that when a saintess uses magic in her domain, the divine power she exudes is incomparable to that of ordinary clergy.
The priest must have sensed this energy.
I had been too complacent.
I knew the priest was visiting today, I should have already anticipated this.
But lamenting now was pointless.
I have to take the best course of action.
“Lilia.”
“Yes?”
“From now on, if anyone claiming to be from the church approaches you, avoid them at all costs. Do not respond to them at all costs.”
“Understood, master.”
“Lulua, the same goes for you.”
“Got it. But what if they use force?”
“Crush them.”
“Alright.”
“Leviana, return to the mansion and instruct Liberis to gather information. Inform Karma and Amaryllis of this situation and have them remain on high alert.”
“Understood.”
Leviana sank back into the shadows and disappeared.
With this, the minimum preparations are complete.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t do anything more without leaving the academy.
“Lilia, Lulus… we’re leaving.”
“Yes, my lord.”
“Understood.”
◇◇◇◇◇◇
After leaving the academy with Lilia and Lulua, we didn’t head straight to the mansion; instead, we made our way into the streets of the Imperial Capital.
Our destination was an area developed for adventurers, filled with various shops necessary for their daily lives, such as general stores, weapon shops, blacksmith workshops, and inns.
We headed to one of these shops, the blacksmith workshop “Weapons Sheria.”
Just like the clothing store ‘Pearl Sheria’, which has its main branch in the Heaville Duchy, I also serve as a co-representative of this blacksmith workshop.
Unlike ‘Pearl Sheria’, this workshop has its main branch located in the Imperial Capital.
The reason is simple: more materials and manpower gather in the capital, providing significant advantages for a blacksmith workshop.
Thanks to having the main branch in the Imperial Capital, “Weapons Sheria” has also become one of the most prominent blacksmith workshops in the capital within a few years.
We stepped into the main branch of the blacksmith workshop.
As I opened the door, painted in a calming color, I was greeted by the workshop’s distinctive heat and the scent of iron.
Although the forge and the entrance are separated by a wall, it doesn’t seem to have much effect.
“Welcome! Are you here for a request? Or maybe to repair some weapons or armor?”
A young man with a flushed face peeked out from behind the wall and asked. He wiped the sweat dripping from his forehead, probably having just finished some work.
“Call the person in charge here.”
“By the person in charge, do you mean the master? I’m sorry, but the master is a busy man. Unless you have a letter of introduction or have made an appointment, you won’t be able to meet him.”
“Tell him that Wraith is here. That will be enough.”
“Uh… Well, I’ll inform him, but don’t get mad if he doesn’t respond.”
Saying this, the young man headed back behind the wall.
As his figure disappears, Lulua spoke up.
“Hey, Wraith-sama. This is ‘Weapons Sheria,’ right? The place known for having daggers that can cost as much as a mansion. Could it be, this place is the same as ‘Pearl Sheria’?”
“Yes, it is.”
“I see… I had a feeling, but hearing it directly is a bit surprising.”
Lulua, having gotten used to various things over the past two years, said with a slightly exasperated expression.
“I intend to have the person in charge here forge a sword for you. Think about it.”
“Wha—!?”
Lulua has shown rapid growth in her swordsmanship, often breaking iron swords recently. Since her growth shows no signs of stopping, I can’t let her continue using ready-made swords forever.
While we were talking, a burly, bearded man appeared from behind the wall.
He was the person in charge of this workshop, the master himself.
“Hey, Wraith. Long time no see.”
“You’re still as bearded as ever, Guns.”
“And you’ve grown quite a bit. Bringing along several women, no less.”
Guns said those words with a rugged face and while smiling.
I also smiled slightly and slid my gaze to his hand, which was holding a sword in a black scabbard.
“So, is that the item I ordered?”
Two years ago, before returning to the duchy after the party incident, I visited this workshop and commissioned a sword.
A sword that prioritized durability above all else… In preparation for the battles that would inevitably come.
And now, the time has come.
“Yes. This is the sword you ordered two years ago. Here, check it.”
I took the sword from Guns and drew it from its scabbard.
The blade, like the scabbard, emitted a dull, black glow.
“The result of experimenting with various materials and methods to meet your demands is this black blade. Don’t complain too much alright?”
“I’ll save my complaints for after the durability test.”
[Collapse]
I concentrated my magic power onto the black blade, as if crushing it.
Though I use several times more power than I do in combat, the blade doesn’t budge. Increasing the amount of magic power even more, there was still no significant reaction.
“…This will do. It’s good.”
“Is that so? I had no idea what you were doing, but if you’re satisfied with my sword, that’s all that matters.”
I sheathed the sword and brought Lulua, who was standing behind me, to the front.
“Woah!”
Lulua let out a surprised sound as she was suddenly pulled forward.
Ignoring her, I spoke to Guns.
“Forge a sword for her. You have about a week, and make it the best.”
“Don’t be unreasonable. I have other jobs, too.”
“Put them off. Prioritize my request.”
“Ha… I guess I have no choice.”
“And you have skilled craftsmen here, right? Have one of them make three rings. The best you have.”
“Rings? Well, sure. What about the design?”
“It’s written here. Also, make sure to enhance the ring’s durability.”
I took out a piece of paper from my pocket and handed it to Guns.
After a quick glance, Guns turned his gaze to Lulua.
“Young lady, what is your name?”
“Lulua.”
“I see… Well then, Lulua, tell me what kind of sword you want.”

Honestly, Wraith was stupidly complacent. If he knew the Priest was coming, he should’ve kept Lilia away. Now he’ll have the Church, the Emperor, and probably even his own father against him. Really should’ve planned this better.
Also, they should’ve gotten that sword of hers done much earlier. But I guess Wraith didn’t expect to worry about the Church this early.
