When I Reincarnated as the Villain of a Game World, I Created a Harem and Broke the Protagonist's Heart and Efforts! - Chapter 65 : Darkness
Chapter 65 : Darkness
“Alright, it’s time. Let’s go, Giga.”
It was midnight, the moon was hidden behind the clouds, and the surroundings were shrouded in darkness.
I put away the pocket watch I was holding in my hand and called out to the giant man standing beside me as I moved forward. Behind us, fifty comrades in black robes followed.
Our destination was the main gate of the Magic Academy.
“We have to play our part as diversions properly.”
As the main gate came into view, I deactivated the concealment magic I had cast on myself, Giga, and our comrades.
Magic is extremely useful at times like this, and I am grateful for the talent I possess despite being a commoner.
When we were about a dozen meters from the gate, the two guards standing there finally noticed us.
It seemed the darkness of the night had delayed their awareness.
One of them hurried inside the gate, while the other raised his lantern and called out to us.
“Who are you? What business do you have here with so many people at this hour?”
“Oh, it’s nothing of great importance.”
“Then leave immediately.”
“That’s not an option for us.”
[Wind Lance]
“––Gah…”
With a spear of wind conjured by magic, I pierced the guard’s throat and he died instantly.
“Let’s go.”
We passed by the corpse, slipped through the gate, and entered the academy grounds.
As we walked along the well-maintained path, about ten guards came chasing after us from behind. It seems the guard who hurriedly went inside must have called them.
“Hmm, what a nuisance. Giga, take care of them.”
“Got it.”
The giant man beside me responded, and within seconds, it was over.
What lay behind us now were only the remnants of what used to be humans.
Confirming that no more guards were coming, I turned my body forward again.
Then, something unexpected came into view.
It was a woman.
Even in the pitch-black darkness, her silver hair stood out clearly.
She was somewhat tall for a woman and her face was hidden by her bangs, but there was something undeniably beautiful about her.
I decided to address her cautiously, despite her sudden appearance.
“…I apologize for the sudden intrusion, but who are you—”
“Woman!!!”
“Giga!”
Before I could finish, Giga charged towards the woman.
I regretted forgetting about Giga and felt a pang of pity for the woman as I imagined her fate.
Women targeted by Giga never escaped unscathed, either as humans or as living beings. With Giga in that state, I couldn’t stop him, so I relaxed a bit, intending to wait until it was over.
But then, something unimaginable happened.
“––Huh?”
Giga’s head flew through the air in an arc.
The head, spraying blood, landed in front of me and began forming a pool of blood on the ground.
“––Huh?”
I couldn’t comprehend what had happened.
Why was Giga’s head here? He had just charged at the woman.
Why had his head flown off suddenly? Where was his body?
Slowly, I raised my gaze.
What I saw was an unbelievable sight.
Giga’s huge body lay on the ground, forming a pool of blood, while the woman stood there, unscathed, in the same posture as before.
I couldn’t understand… What was happening? Never before had I—
“Ahhhh!”
A scream echoed from behind. Slowly, I turned around.
Half of our comrades were impaled by red-black spikes emerging from the ground, their lives extinguished.
“This was easier than I thought.”
A clear, incongruous voice reached my ears amidst the chaos.
Though I felt a rising fear from the incomprehensible situation, I couldn’t help but turn my gaze forward again.
Two blue lights flashed before my eyes.

“Fushi-sama, it’s done.”
“Good work.”
I lightly praised the subordinate who called out to me and resumed walking.
Several dead bodies of the academy guards lay around, but it was a small number.
If we had infiltrated without any preparation, there would have been more corpses lying around. Thanks to Kirits and Giga acting as decoys, most of the guards were drawn away.
“I need to do my part as well.”
My task, assigned by the boss, was to recruit and deal with the students in the girls’ dormitory.
Thanks to climbing over the outer wall surrounding the academy, I reached the girls’ dormitory quickly.
“Alright, let’s get started. You guys, go in.”
I instructed my subordinates to infiltrate the dormitory. The boss had ordered us to conduct the recruitment and disposal as quietly as possible, so I decided to let my subordinates handle the task individually.
My subordinates were skilled in stealth techniques, making them highly effective for this kind of mission.
I had brought about thirty men, but there were many commoner students, so it would take some time.
Since it would be boring waiting here, I decided to do some recruitment and disposal myself and entered the dormitory.
“Now, which are the rooms they have yet to touch?”
As I stepped forward, something bumped into my right foot.
It was quite heavy. Straining my eyes in the dark, I slowly made out what had hit my foot.
“Damn it.”
The thing that had hit my foot was the severed head of one of my subordinates.
I immediately drew the dagger from my waist and assumed a defensive stance.
I couldn’t sense any presence around me. However, the fact that my subordinate’s head was here, bleeding, was undeniable proof that an enemy was nearby and had just killed him.
I sharpened my senses and remained on high alert. In the still darkness, only my own breathing reached my ears.
Suddenly, sensing a killing intent, I barely managed to react and brought the dagger in front of me. Metal clashed with a high-pitched sound, sparks flying.
In the brief light from the sparks, I saw a pair of sharp eyes reflecting in the darkness.

We soon arrived at the boys’ dormitory.
Thanks to Kirits and the others’ efforts, I hadn’t encountered any academy personnel on the way.
“Our top priority is to recruit the commoner we had discussed. If he refuses, kill him. Saji, are you ready?”
“……”
The man in the cloak standing next to me nodded silently.
Saji didn’t speak much, but his skills were reliable.
He was as strong as I was, capable of defeating even the top knights of the kingdom.
Moreover, both Saji and I had used a small amount of ‘that’, boosting our abilities several times over.
If the commoner resisted joining us, we could easily kill him.
Pushing aside the vague unease I had been feeling, I turned to my comrades behind me.
“Wait here until I give the signal. Once I signal, infiltrate the dormitory and begin the recruitment.”
“Understood.”
One of them responded on behalf of the group. Confirming this, I faced forward again.
Just as I was about to step towards the dormitory, I heard a voice.
“Who are you?”
I turned my gaze in the direction of the voice I had suddenly heard.
Standing beside us was a girl with long, light-golden hair.
How did she get here?
Just a moment ago, I neither saw nor sensed her presence.
My unease grew at her sudden appearance.
Before we could react, the girl spoke again.
“Oh? You two seem to have a familiar aura. Especially you two.” she said, pointing at Saji and me in turn.
But I had no memory of this girl. I had never met her before.
Saji seemed to feel the same, shaking his head slightly when I glanced at him.
“That aura is similar to Leviana’s. No, it’s more like master’s…”
The girl muttered to herself, her gaze dropping slightly as if she was deep in thought, momentarily distracted from us.
This was our chance…
“Saji.”
Saji, understanding my intention, rushed towards the girl. His speed was barely perceptible, but he managed to get behind her and swung his dagger at her neck.
I thought he had succeeded, given the girl’s distraction and Saji’s speed.
However, the dagger in his hand never reached the girl’s neck.
A high-pitched sound echoed in the darkness.
“Ah, I see. That aura is demonic, right?”
Saji’s dagger was deflected by an ice shard that had appeared in the air.
The girl must have created the ice shard to block his attack.
“What an unexpected stroke of luck.”
The girl swung her right hand. In an instant, the world began to freeze.
The ground, the air, the surrounding walls — all turned into white sheets with frost covering them.
“For my master’s sake, you’ll tell me everything you know, okay?”
The girl said with a chuckle, her eyes devoid of any light.
