Chapter 51 : Worthless Protagonist
The other day, at one of the training grounds where the practical exam took place.
In a place almost never used on the day of the entrance ceremony, a large number of people had gathered, and it was unclear how they had learned about it.
Among them were first-year students who had just enrolled on that day, upperclassmen living in dorms, and even teachers, all gathered around the training ground.
And the focus of all these people was on two individuals.
The ‘protagonist’, Cain Roglin, and the ‘villain’, who is none other than me, Wraith Heaville.
The duel between the protagonist and me, the villain, which had been challenged by the protagonist in the classroom a while ago, was set to take place on the same day. The judgment would be carried out by the S-First homeroom teacher who had returned to the classroom after hearing the commotion.
And this duel was a “nobles’ duel” where both parties wagered something they desired from the other. However, while the protagonist demanded the release of my possession, Serena, from slavery, I made no requests. Simply because there was nothing of value to take from that person — meaning I didn’t find any value in the existence of Cain Roglin.
His attitude towards me, who had a higher status than him, his demands if he won this duel, and his egocentric worldview — all equally worthless in my eyes. Anything taken from such a person was equivalent to garbage.
Above all, what irritated me the most was his belief that he could defeat me.
That’s why I didn’t ask anything from him.
I engaged in this duel to trample on him, the ‘protagonist’, as the ‘villain’.
To protect what is precious to me.
To break the fate scenario.
To exist as an overwhelming ‘evil’.
For these reasons, I entered into this duel.
Several meters away, the protagonist was exchanging words with a girl who seemed like a heroine and his friends, and the eyes of everyone present held the same light and determination as the protagonist.
The people around looked at the protagonists with eyes seeing ‘justice’ and at me with eyes seeing ‘evil’.
Those gazes held no doubt or hesitation.
They blindly believed in ‘justice’ and the ‘protagonist’.
Ugh… It’s nauseating.
“Both of you, step forward.”
Following the voice of the referee, our homeroom teacher, we moved forward without weapons and stopped.
In front of me stood the protagonist with a sword gleaming.
“Let’s conduct the final confirmation. The rules of this duel are threefold: first, the match is decided only when one of the participants becomes unable to continue the fight or declares surrender. Second, the loser must comply with the winner’s demands. Third, the decisions made in this duel cannot be overturned later. Regarding the winner’s demands, is it correct that Cain Roglin wishes for the release of the slave owned by Wraith Heaville, and Wraith Heaville has no demands?”
“Yes.”
“Yeah.”
“Then, assume your positions!”
At the referee’s command, the protagonist readied his sword for battle. In contrast, I remained motionless, hands in the pockets of my uniform.
Perhaps puzzled by my demeanor, the protagonist threw words at me.
“Are you underestimating me?”
“There’s no need to use much effort on someone like you.”
“You’re quite arrogant.”
“I possess the power for it.”
“….She will definitely be liberated from slavery.”
After the protagonist’s words, silence engulfed the scene.
In that space, the referee quietly raised his hand—
“Begin!”
—and dropped it.
[Body Enhancement]
With the signal to start, the protagonist enhanced his own body.
And in the next moment, he disappeared from my field of vision.
However, what disappeared was only his figure, not his presence or magical power.
I strongly sensed the protagonist’s presence behind me, where I had set and released compressed magical power.
[Release Burst]
“What!? Gaaah!”
The compressed magical power was released, creating a shockwave that sent the protagonist flying.
When I looked back slowly, I could see the protagonist, now on the ground, looking at me with pain in his fresh uniform.
“What… Did you just do?”
Even in the midst of battle, the protagonist foolishly asked me a question.
How foolish…
[Collapse Crush]
“Guh!? Aaargh!”
The sound of bones breaking and shattering echoed in the training ground.
The protagonist, the source of that sound, writhed in intense pain in both arms and legs, unable to protect his face, and fell forward.
“How pathetic.”
Watching the protagonist suffer, I couldn’t help but let those words slip from my mouth.
In this duel, I hadn’t used a sword or magic, and I hadn’t moved from my initial position.
I had only used magical power manipulation.
And this magical power manipulation, still in a state of being unused to it in actual combat.
Yet, despite all this…
To think this is the extent of his power, the one who claimed he would take Serena away from me.
Truly, unpleasant.
Approaching the fallen protagonist crawling on the ground, I looked down on him.
He wasn’t screaming in pain like before, but rather, he looked up at me with eyes filled with strong determination.
For the light of ‘justice’.,
“Ooh—”
“Don’t open your mouth, you crawling insect.”
I kicked the protagonist’s face.
Perhaps his jaw was broken from the impact; blood dripped from his open mouth.
“Aaah! Uwaaah!”
“Silence.”
I silenced him by stepping on his head.
Unable to move freely and unable to speak, the protagonist’s eyes still held that light.
The light burning with ‘justice’.
“Stop! Cain can’t fight anymore!”
A voice filled with sadness and anger was heard from behind.
Just by turning my gaze to the rear, I saw the heroine-like girl who had talked to him earlier.
“Move away! That violates the rules!”
“How about telling that to the teacher standing there?”
“Ugh! Teacher! End the duel! Teacher!”
“Ah, yes. So, the winner is Wraith Heaville!”
The referee, called out by the students, finally started moving.
After declaring my victory, the homeroom teacher who hurriedly approached checked the condition of the fallen protagonist and instructed some students and teachers to bring a stretcher.
The protagonist was placed on the stretcher and carried away by several students and teachers to the infirmary.
Before leaving, the homeroom teacher who accompanied him said…
“Wraith Heaville, come to the staff room later. This incident has gone too far. Expect appropriate punishment.”
What is he saying, disregarding his own mistake? It’s likely because the teacher didn’t stop the duel promptly.
Ignoring the teacher’s words, I walked through the naturally formed passage between the two groups of people.
“Lilia, Lulua. Let’s go home.”
Calling out the names of the two who had appeared during the duel, they came over from the gap in the crowd.
Of course, Leviana and Serena were following behind me.
“What were you doing without me knowing?!”
“Tell me the details when we get home.”
With each arm wrapped around my left and right, the two of them said those words.
“When you feel like it.”
I replied casually, tasting the softness of the two mounds that had grown significantly in the two years.
My rough heart was healed.
“Hey!”
Once again, a voice that would make my heart rough reached my ears.
It seems that the girl didn’t follow the protagonist.
“Are you okay with that? Is it okay to remain that guy’s slave?”
Those were words directed at Serena.
A voice filled with hope, with a plea, clinging.
The person in question, Serena, leaned towards the girl.
“Don’t speak from your own perspective. It’s unpleasant.”
“Eh…”
The expression drained from the girl’s face, and she collapsed to her knees on the spot.
“Kukuku. Kuhaha! As expected of you, Serena!”
“Of course.”
With a respectful bow, Serena replied.
It was a very staged gesture.
But it was interesting.
Especially after those words.
“Kuhaha!”
I laughed in that place, leaving the fallen girl and the people who had returned to silence.
“Kuhaha!”
I laughed again.
I turned away from the fallen girl and the people who had returned to silence and headed towards the gate.

Everyone is stupid in this. Or are they brainwashed? Also, the homeroom teacher is stupid because Wraith clearly followed the rules.
Also, Wraith wasted an opportunity to humiliate the protag, like, if Wraith won, protag either had to no longer interact with Wraith again and anyone connected to him, or even make him come to class wearing a dress. 😂
