Daichi Itakura:

“What a day huh…”

I murmured to myself as I lied down on my bed. So many things happened. I confessed to Otosaki and she gladly accepted to become my girlfriend. Also, the big confusion regarding Keiichi-Chihaya situation was also solved.

I relaxed and took my phone. I didn’t check it since afternoon.

“Damn!”

Tachibana Senpai had sent the most, 15 messages in total. She also got a little mad in the end, because I wasn’t replying. Yanami and Hajime Senpai had also sent messages saying “congratulations!”.

I answered all of them and said I would explain tomorrow at the clubroom everything.

“Hehe what my little bro doing right now?”

Suddenly my big sister Rin embraced me from behind which completely caught me off-guard.

“Whoa! How many times do I need to tell you to knock before coming to my room?”

“Oh come on! Shouldn’t you thank me instead of scolding?”

“Thanks? Why?”

“You forgot already? I helped you to get together with your girlfriend.”

“You did nothing but scare Otosaki by pranking her last night. It might have worked eventually, but it still bothered Otosaki whole night and she couldn’t sleep well.”

Her prank eventually helped Otosaki to indirectly confess her true feelings to me. But I still hated it because Otosaki couldn’t sleep last night because of it. And it affected her health.

“Awwww… you really love that girl, don’t you?”

“O-Of course I do.”

I realized my cheeks were getting hot in embarrassment.

At this moment, my phone began ringing. The caller was… Otosaki.

“Talking about the devil! I’m leaving now little bro. Enjoy talking with your girlfriend.”

“Shut it and just leave.”

After Rin left, I answered Otosaki’s call.

“Hello!”

“Daichi-kun…”, answered a very familiar and cute voice.

“Yeah? Did you reach home safely?”

“Yes.”

“Hmm? Your voice is a bit lower compared to normal? Did something happen?”

“I… have something important to tell you, Daichi-kun.”

“Tell me.”

Now I was a little concerned. Something must have happened.

“I will tell you tomorrow.”

“Eh? Why not now?”

“Because right now I want to talk something funny with Daichi-kun to chill.”

“Haha… so what do you want to talk?”

“Fufu… how about some ongoing anime?”

“Anime huh… there is actually a funny anime currently going on.”

“Really? Which one are you talking about?”

“The one named, ‘My 100 girlfriends are really really really cute.‘ What do you say?”

“Eww! That’s the worst! I absolutely hate it!”

“Haha! Well, I guess it’s not surprising that girls don’t find it amusing.”

“Daichi-kun… I hope you don’t have any interest in becoming like the protagonist of that anime. I won’t allow that! I’m your one and only girlfriend.”

“Of course you are! And I hope we’ll continue to be like this…”

“Yeah… I love you, Daichi-kun.”

“Me too.”

“Wait I don’t want to end the conversation here. I want to talk more.”

“Haha well I’m not cutting it either.”

In the end we continued talking until 11 PM.

The next day, during the lunch break at school, I left my class as usual to meet Otosaki. When I reached our usual meeting spot at the quiet staircase, Otosaki was already there, waiting for me.

She smiled at me as I arrived but she looked kind of sad.

“Hey what’s the matter?”, I asked.

“I’m sorry Daichi-kun. I couldn’t make our lunch today. I overslept.”

I breathed a sigh of relief and said,

“So that’s the issue? You almost scared me haha. I will go buy something from the canteen, you wait.”

“I already bought some bread from there.”

“Oh really? Then let’s just eat.”

While we both were eating, I noticed that Otosaki’s energy was really less compared to normal. 

And I noticed… that her eyes again had dark circles. But why? Did she not sleep well yesterday as well? But for sure, my big sister didn’t prank her this time.

“Otosaki… did you not sleep again yesterday?”

She reluctantly nodded.

“Yes. I couldn’t.”

“Why?”

“You remember Daichi-kun… I said last night that I had something important to tell you.”

“Yeah. What is it? Tell me now.”

“I will. But now… can I sleep for a little while?”

“Ah… okay! Do you want me to take you to the infirmary?”

“No! I want to sleep here.”

“Eh?”

Suddenly, Otosaki rested her head on my thighs and lied down on the stairs. It was exactly like a “lap pillow”.

I was obviously embarrassed but before I could say anything… I heard heavy breathing sounds.

“Zzzzzz….”

Otosaki was already asleep. It seemed she really couldn’t sleep last night as well. I wonder what the reason was this time?

But for now, I kept on gently stroking her head as she slept peacefully on my lap. I also had the opportunity to look at her beautiful sleeping face as much as I could.

“She’s really an angel.”

Otosaki woke up just as the lunch time was over. After that she needed to go back to her class so she couldn’t tell me the “important” thing she wanted to tell.

However, we both met again at the “Relationship Counselling Club”. As both I and Otosaki entered, a loud cheers erupted inside. It was our three companions who were as if welcoming some royal couple.

“Welcome our new couple!” (Hajime)

“Needless to say you both are really good match for each other!” (Yanami)

“Congratulation Dai-kun and Otosaki-san! I hope you two had fun yesterday.” (Tachibana)

“Of course they had!” (Hajime)

Expectedly, both my and Otosaki’s faces were completely red in embarrassment. I somehow controlled myself and said,

“Yeah yeah okay. Enough teasing!”

As both of us sat down, Otosaki was still looking a little bit sorrowful. I didn’t get what was troubling her so much.

“So which one of you confessed?” (Yanami)

“Let me guess, it’s Daichi, isn’t it?” (Hajime)

“Well… yeah.” (Daichi)

“I knew it!” (Hajime)

“Fifth time’s the charm! Finally Daichi-san got accepted after four rejections.” (Yanami)

“I swear, how many times do you want to remind me about those rejections?” (Daichi)

“Eh Otosaki-san, why are you so quiet?” (Tachibana)

Everyone looked at Otosaki who was extremely quiet. She said she had something important to tell me, yet she hadn’t revealed anything so far.

“Yeah… Otosaki what’s the matter?” (Hajime)

“Otosaki-san, something troubling you? Did Daichi-san do something bad to you?” (Yanami)

“No I didn’t. Shut up.” (Daichi)

I then whispered to Otosaki, “Hey, if that important thing is not something very personal, you can say it here as well.”

She looked at me with a concerned face but then nodded her head in agreement.

“Well… I have something important to tell you…” (Otosaki)

Everyone nodded and waited for her to continue.

“I… had an argument with my mom last night. And….” (Otosaki)

“And?”, everyone asked.

“And she told me to find a new home.” (Otosaki)
