So… Keiichi-san and that other girl, Wakamiya-san heard all of our conversation. It didn’t seem like they were angry, instead both of them were trying to suppress their laughter.

Chihaya-san was embarrassed to say anything at that moment. So, Daichi-kun proposed us to sit somewhere and then talk about all of it.

Currently five of us were sitting around a table inside a cafe.

“Well… so since when did you notice us?” (Daichi)

“When we were about to leave the floor, I remembered I needed to use the washroom. And when I turned around, I saw you three, talking to each other at the exact place where we were buying the dress for Chihaya. Both of us then quietly went towards you. But you didn’t notice us coming because of how indulged you were in your conversation. Then we proceeded to hear all of it without you ever looking behind.” (Wakamiya)

“Fufufu…” (Keiichi)

“Enough! Stop laughing jeez!” (Chihaya)

“I can’t! Haha… Rikka-chan was so cute at that time.” (Keiichi)

“Jeez you’re so mean!” (Chihaya)

I now realised why Daichi-kun believed that there’s no way Keiichi-san could have cheated on Chihaya-san. Daichi-kun and Keiichi-san were truly the best friends. They knew each other really well.

I can’t lose to Keiichi-san though. I need to ensure that Daichi-kun knows everything of me and I know everything of Daichi-kun as well.

“But Itakura… I have to say that your explanation was absolutely on point. It’s almost scary how well you figured everything out.” (Keiichi)

“Yeah I’m also impressed.” (Wakamiya)

Daichi-kun smiled but he seemed to have a question in his mind.

“Well… it was just common sense in the end. However, I do have another question though.” (Daichi)

“What is it?” (Keiichi)

“Actually, Chihaya told me that you were not going home together for last few days. This is probably the reason why Chihaya got worried in the first place. Why were you not going home together?” (Daichi)

“Y-Yeah Keiichi. Why were you always telling me to leave alone?” (Chihaya)

That was indeed a big question. Chihaya-san didn’t get worried about Keiichi-san in one day. The suspension arrived when he began to avoid going home with Chihaya-san for many days.

“Well… of course I would like to explain the reason. But… did Itakura already not figure it out yet?” (Keiichi)

Keiichi-san looked at Daichi-kun with a smile. Daichi-kun sighed and answered.

“Well I have a hypothesis. But it can be entirely wrong.” (Daichi)

“Just say it man.” (Keiichi)

“Well… I think Keiichi and Wakamiya once went to buy the dress two weeks ago. But then Keiichi saw the price tag was a little bit too high compared to his allowances. But he liked the dress so much that he was adamant about buying it. Then he decided to get a part time job for few days somewhere to get some money for buying it. But he didn’t want to tell Chihaya obviously, because she would have been absolutely against it. Thus he didn’t go home with Chihaya these few days. Am I correct?” (Daichi)

Wakamiya-san looked at Daichi-kun with her jaw dropped. Keiichi-san meanwhile just smiled and said, “Bingo!”

Then I remembered, a few days before our midterm exams, when I and Daichi-kun were in a restaurant, we saw both Wakamiya-san and Keiichi-san going together.

“Daichi-kun you’re an absolute genius!” (Otosaki)

I jumped and embraced Daichi-kun from behind.

“W-Wait Otosaki! Everyone is watching!” (Daichi)

“Not that I care!” (Otosaki)

“Oh my! I was thinking about this for some time, are you two a couple?” (Wakamiya)

“Of course they are! Aren’t you, Itakura?” (Keiichi)

“Well….” (Daichi)

“Y-Yes.” (Otosaki)

Even I got a little bit embarrassed . I realised being lovey-dovey in public, might not be a good idea in the end.

Meanwhile, Chihaya-san widened her eyes and looked at Keiichi-san.

“Wait! Keiichi, you literally got into a part time job, just so you buy that dress for me?!” (Chihaya)

“Umm… I knew Rikka-chan wouldn’t like it. So I didn’t want to tell you this.” (Keiichi)

“But what even special is in that dress!?” (Chihaya)

“I think you would look great in this.” (Keiichi)

“You really went that far for me?” (Chihaya)

“Oh you have no idea, Chihaya. This motherf**ker would literally build a rocket and leave for moon if you ask him to.” (Daichi)

We all laughed at Daichi-kun’s joke. But Chihaya-san was still a little sad.

“And here… I thought… you were cheating on me. I couldn’t trust you more. I’m really… a bad girlfriend. I’m sorry, Keiichi.” (Chihaya)

“Why are you blaming yourself, Rikka-chan? Anyone could have misunderstood.” (Keiichi)

“Yeah it’s absolutely Keiichi’s fault.” (Daichi)

“I agreed 100%.” (Otosaki)

“I hereby declare Keiichi guilty and sentence him to say sorry to Chihaya 420 times.” (Wakamiya)

“Oi! It’s not just me okay!? Stop blaming me too.” (Keiichi)

The atmosphere changed again and now even Chihaya-san chuckled.

“Fufu… well, does Keiichi hate me now?” (Chihaya)

“Of course not! How can I?” (Keiichi)

“Then… as tomorrow’s my birthday, I will go anywhere you ask as a date.” (Chihaya)

“Really? I will think about it tonight.” (Keiichi)

“What a lovely couple! Damn I’m jealous!” (Wakamiya)

I was jealous too. Because I wanted to have lovey-dovey moments with Daichi-kun as well. But after this, I had to go home. And thus, I would have to wait until tomorrow to see Daichi-kun again.

“Ah Wakamiya-san! I’m sorry for suspecting you as well!” (Chihaya)

“Don’t worry at all!” (Wakamiya)

“By the way, she already likes someone from our school. But she doesn’t want to tell us.” (Keiichi)

“Oh really? Who is it, Wakamiya-san?” (Chihaya)

Probably for the first time, I saw Wakamiya-san’s face being reddened. She definitely had someone she liked.

“Well… it’s a senpai. But I don’t want to tell who it is yet.” (Wakamiya)

While going home, I held hands with Daichi-kun. Unfortunately I had to part ways with him and take my bus even though… I didn’t want to leave him.

Honestly, in an ideal world, I wanted to live together with him. But… that’s impossible for now. We’re not husband wife yet. I wouldn’t mind to marry him right now though.

“What are you thinking, Otosaki?”

“To marry Daichi-kun…”

“W-What?!”

“Ah Sorry! I shouldn’t have said it!”

“No… I mean it’s just the first day of us becoming a couple… So already marriage…”

“Hehe! Daichi-kun will like to marry me, no?”

“Umm… It will be a lie if I say no.”

“Fufu… I knew it.”

“By the way… your bus has arrived.”

“Ehhhhhhh…. I wanted to stay a little more with Daichi-kun.”

“It’s already late. We will meet tomorrow as well.”

“Mou~… okay.”

I reluctantly took the bus and said goodbye to Daichi-kun for tonight.

Jeez… I already miss him even though it’s only been 5 minutes.

As that moment I got a notification in my phone.

It was a message from my mom.

<I won’t come home today. I’m with Mr. Tojo. I will come back tomorrow>

I sighed. My mom didn’t give a sh*t about me. Ever since her divorce, she spent most of her time away from home.

Suddenly another message popped up from mom.

<I’m going to remarry. Mr. Tojo will be your new father. We are going to leave for Hokkaido. You will have to transfer to another school in Hokkaido as well.>
