When I Brought The Lost Little Girl To Her House, The One Who Came Out Of The Front Door Was The Most Beautiful Girl In The Grade. - Chapter 68
“It was delicious!”
Saying so, Ayano expressed her satisfaction, then proceeded to enjoy her matcha drink through a straw, making little “chu chu” sounds.
I didn’t have the leisure to enjoy the taste amidst the affectionate gazes coming from around us. However, it truly was delicious, and the atmosphere was nice as well. I thought about telling Mitsuru and Sota about this place next time.
“It’s still bright out. What should we do?”
“Well, we just had lunch, so…”
It seemed Ayano hadn’t decided what to do after this.
“We’ve got time, how about catching a movie?”
“Sounds good!”
“Alright, let’s start with a movie.”
With that, we made our way to the movie theater, but once inside, we were still debating what to watch.
“I’m up for action movies!”
“I prefer touching romantic stories!”
We exchanged those words but hadn’t bought tickets yet.
Usually, I would adapt to the other person’s preference, but I’m not great with emotional films. I can’t concentrate until the end, so I’d rather watch an action movie. However, Ayano didn’t seem willing to give in either.
“Alright, let’s decide with rock-paper-scissors.”
“Fine, I’m serious.”
Ayano said that, sounding really determined. I don’t think being serious in rock-paper-scissors matters, though…
“Rock-paper-scissors!”
“Pon!”
I threw rock and Ayano had paper. According to the rules of rock-paper-scissors, rock loses to paper, which meant I lost.
“No saying ‘best of three’ or anything?”
“Huh?! Oh, well, um… no.”
“See? Because you’re a boy.”
She said that while smiling triumphantly. Well, since I’m actually losing, I can’t say anything.
“I’ll go get the tickets then!”
“Alright… oh, they’re showing a horror movie too.”
As I said that and was about to buy the tickets, Ayano suddenly stopped.
“What’s wrong?”
“Ho… hor… horror, huh? Interesting.”
“Wait, are you planning to watch the emotional movie instead? Or did you actually want to watch the horror movie?”
“N-no! It’s just… horror is…”
When I heard those words, I suddenly felt an inexplicable urge to tease her.
I gently placed my hand on Ayano’s shoulder, causing her to react with a little jump.
“Do you happen to dislike horror movies?”
“U-uh, n-no, not at all.”
“Actually, I’m quite sesitive to the supernatural. Like, right behind you now, there’s a woman waving her hand… Ow! That hurts!”
Ayano was gripping my arm tightly. She must really dislike them.
But to be honest, I just wanted to see cute Ayano’s reaction. However, she didn’t look amused.
“Did… did the woman leave? Is she still there?”
“Hmm… oh, my bad. I must have been mistaken.”
“Oh, thank goodness.”
Ayano let out a sigh. There was an immense sense of guilt weighing on me for some reason.
“Um, well… sorry, it was all a lie.”
Upon hearing that, Ayano looked surprised. However, she chuckled and said, “Well, that’s even better.”
“If you’re going to be mean like that, maybe I should move seats away from you, Yusei.”
“Is that okay? They say spirits tend to lean toward the lonely one.”
I didn’t really know, but Ayano countered, so I quickly said something random. Ayano didn’t laugh again.
“…B-but Yuusei-kun, you’d be with me too!”
“Well, think about it. If a cute girl and an ordinary guy were together, where would the spirit go?”
“I-I don’t know!”
Saying that, Ayano had already bought the tickets for both of us. I hadn’t even glanced at the seats, but Ayano had made the decision.
“See? Now you’re all set.”
“Huh? We’re sitting next to each other, though…”
“Sorry?! We’re a couple, so it’s fine, right?”
“Uh, yeah.”
I muttered under my breath, “If you’re scared, just say you’re scared.” She must have heard it, because she shot me a glare.
“Yuusei-kun, if you say anything scary like that again, I’ll be angry, okay?”
“Well, I…”
“Because I’ll be angry, you know?”
Ayano earnestly warned me. Just imagining getting scolded by Ayano felt like opening a new door of my own fears.
“So, what’s your answer?”
“Yes!”
“Since I got a good response, I guess you won’t lie.”
“Of course not!”
With that, we bought popcorn and the surprisingly expensive movie theater drinks, handed in our tickets, and entered Screen 3.
