“Correct, a date. Just to be sure, Hiroto has no right of refusal, okay?”

To think that I would be asked to do such a thing. A date with someone like me? I just can’t help but feel that there is something behind the scenes, but as Kageno-san said, I don’t have a right of refusal.

I had no choice but to agree to it.

I really don’t understand what she even means by date per se.

But well, let’s just confirm that clearly. Just in case.

“Is it really a date? You’re sure you’re not mistakenly asking me to help you carry stuffs on your shopping spree?”

“I told you many times that I don’t lie, didn’t I?”

“Ah, yeap. True that.”

Come to think of it, I had already  confirmed that many times over. Kageno-san just doesn’t lie.

Probably because I was put together with a adjective like ‘date’ which has no relation with me whatsoever was put in the same sentence with me, I lost my cool there.

“But even so, I am also trying to be an Eminence in Shadows. So it will not be fun as Hiroto would think or want it to be, so be prepared.”

“Roger that.”

Even if she didn’t spill that out, I somehow knew that.

After all, we are talking about Kageno-san over here. It’s ver much likely that something of that sorts would become the case at the end. And even thought I’ve said this many times over, I don’t have high expectations from something like a date from the very beginning.

The reason is the same as I’ve already told you all earlier, I don’t want to experience romance and fall in love anymore. For, at the end of the day, that won’t pay ever off anyway.

So it’s also the matter of not doing something that’s a waste of time in the long run.

Even the guy that I was so used and close with disappeared from my life before I knew it. I don’t even remember his name as well, and even if I saw him again in front of me, I am probably not gonna able to recall that’s him as well.

The only reason to go to school at such an early hour would mean that she was having work as a class head. Is it that Kageno-san might be surprisingly earnest?

To be honest, I think that Eminence in the Shadows thingy is a bit of a joke. It is not that I am making fun of her.

However, I had never thought that there was someone with such a strong character in real life. In fact, I couldn’t believe my eyes at first when I saw her, but I accepted her eventually.

Well, for the time being, it’s useless to even think about such things. Besides, I have to get ready for school as well, so I got to start preparing for it asap.

I’ve talked a little too long, I’m sure even Akane is already up and awake by now.

I also wanted to eat breakfast that mom had prepared for me.

It was almost time to head for school.
