41_ The cool gyaru senpai at my part-time job ③
Haah. no, this is bad. I was almost about to ascend to the other side because of how precious that felt. My wish hasn’t come true yet. I can’t die just yet.
Koyori-san’s smile was something completely unimaginable from the way she had behaved just a moment before. The sheer magnitude of that shock and preciousness of her smile was so huge that my brain was nearly on the verge of exploding.
“I’m also not that good at smiling either. I don’t know if I’m supposed to be smiling well like this, but strangely enough, I’m well received by the customers. So I think, if you try and imitate me, it should be just fine.”
“I see. Thank you very much.”
But even if I say that, just how do I make myself smile? I haven’t been able to smile that much lately.
If I try to force a fake smile, I think it would look too unnatural and instead become an issue; therefore, that’s a no.
Koyori-san says that she’s no good at smiling, but that’s absolutely not the case. That smile was really charming. A normal man would easily get decapitated with just a single blow of that. It would be rather strange if someone don’t fall in love with her for that alone.
In my case, I’m just an oddity.
I guess the quickest way is to be honest with her upfront guess. I’ll probably cause quite some trouble for Koyori-san, but Iet’s hope that she’ll forgive and leave me for today.
When I get home, I’ll practice smiling. With today itself …or so I can’t say with certaintly, but since I am planing to be under their care for sometime now, let’s try my utmost for now. Else it might be bad for Owner-san as well as Koyori-san, both.
“I’m really sorry. Actually, I’m not very good at smiling, you see.”
“Really? You don’t look like that though. Why don’t you try smiling once just for a change?”
“I think it’ll really look ugly.”
“No one can tell that of course right. The smile of a person is their treasure you know?”
A smile is a treasure heh. That has a nice ring to it. Certainly, that can be true.
After all, smiles are indeed irreplaceable. A smile is not something you make, it’s something that comes out naturally.
Although I don’t know if it will work; I force myself to move the muscles of my cheeks that have hardened up. Wrong, don’t force it. Not consciously.
With a small blush on my face, I looked up at Koyori-san with a smile, or so I thought I was supposed to do.
“…”
Koyori-san gawks at my face. When suddenly her shoulder moved up and down in an instant and with that, she turned her back towards me.
I guess it went bad after all… and gave out a sllen expression.
From now on, I’m start with carrying out more daily conversations with both Akane and mom. Nothing is more enjoyable than talking with those two. I’m sure the muscles in my cheeks will naturally relax without me even being all too aware of it.
“Hiroto, that was ….just amazingly nice.”
“Eh, I’m sorry. Can you tell me one more time?”
-san
It was just too thin, like a little bird whispering, for my ears to catch it up completely.
It was just too thin.
Koyori-san took a deep breath and turned around towards me.
“I think that’s already really good. Rather, it’s a little more than I expected that I…”
“Eh, Really?”
“I would never lie about this.”
Koyori-san looked at me with a serious expression on her face. It was like she was ‘seriousness’ herself..
“I’m so happy. Thank you so much!”
Surprisingly, I was able to smile quite naturally. Maybe since recently I have been living a life that I have never lived before, maybe I was already smiling without my recollection.
I was praised by Koyori, who owns that perfect smile. I have gained a lot of confidence in my smile. Thank you very much, Koyori-san.
Now all I have to do is to present this to the general public. There’s none right now though, but I’ll give it a challenge as soon as a customer arrives.
“As expected the power of that smile is just…”
“Nn, did you say something Koyori-san?”
“Nope, nothing though.”
My voice sounded somewhat different from the self-disappointed me that lived clutched in it’s past.
“Since your smile is perfect, so the next step is the way to serve the customers. Because a smile alone is not enough to serve customers.”
Now that you mention it, that’s also true. A smile alone is not enough to accomplish this job. I had almost completely forgotten about that.
For this as well, I need to listen to Koyori-san carefully and learn from her.
I had already put all my trust on Koyori-san.
“There are no particular tricks to customer service, all that is needed is the minimum manners and honorifics; and with a perfect smile all is set.”
“I see.”
“I’ll show you an example again, so can you pretend to be a customer in that seat?”
“Ah, I understand.”
Just as I was instructed by Koyori-san, with a normal customer face, sat on the seat. I am a little worried whether there will be any customers that might show up in the middle of all this, but let’s hope it will all be just fine.
I have never been to this kind of place before, so maybe I will try challenging this situation with the knowledge I have acquired from reading mangas and go about it.
First of all, is place an order.
“Excuse me, I’d like to order.”
“Ye~s, thank you for waiting.”
Koyori-san walked toward me with an order menu. She looked really professional, no wonder she is so popular.
Etto, well, I guess I have to order something, right. Then, I’ll just go with this.
“One of these drinks.”
“One child beer, is that correct? Bringing it up certainly.”
Koyori confirmed my order, wrote it down as a memo, and went back to where she had come from.
When I was about to get up thinking that ‘That was all I need to learn’ , Koyori-san made eye contact with me as if saying to accompany her throughout till the end of it.
Truthfully, I don’t know if that was actually what she was saying, but I had a feeling that she was.
After a while, a glass cup of child beer with a carbonated sound was brought to my seat.
“Thank you for waiting. Here will be your Child beer. Please make yourself at ease.”
Wow, that was just perfect. Koyori-san’s customer service was just perfect.
Needless to say, my ears turned red when she came near my ears and whispered naturally, “It’s on me,” and left my side with soft steps.
